Brad Boals began writing Last Chance - The Legend of the Hathmec in the winter of 2011 as nothing more than an exercise to see if he could develop a story that he had first imagined as kid in Junior High School. Brad has a degree in Industrial Engineering and has worked for several manufacturers over the years, but he never gave up the dream of writing a book. His love of story-telling reaches back to his childhood when he enjoyed making up elaborate games and background stories for kids in his neighborhood. He wrote quite a few short stories as he progressed through school, but never realized how much he enjoyed it until later in life. The cause of writer's block for me is normally due to other things happening in my life, so I either try to take care of those things or clear my head of them by listening to music or working out.(less)

Why Write For Young Adults?

WHY YOUNG ADULT?
The question I would ask is, “Why not Young Adult?” My initial book series, Last Chance – The Legend of the Hathmec is filled with young adult themes, among other genre styles. I’ll get into the other styles in later posts. The most common questions I get asked are, “Why do you write about teenagers and where did you come up with the concept?” Let me explain:
