ATTENTION EVERYONE! - ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO WERE UNCERTAIN ABOUT DOING THE COMPLETE CHALLENGE

We have reworked the Summer Challenge criteria so we can accommodate everyone (hopefully)

Please go back to post #1 and re-read

If you're happy to leave your picks as they are that's fine, but if you'd like to go with what we are NOW offering, you're welcome:)

MaryG2E (goodreadscommaryg2e) | 934 comments Feeling good about completing the full challenge. As mentioned previously on this thread, I'm making it a priority over the next few months to re-read some old favourites, either Australian or international. So my list looks very Retro, in parts, compared with some of you others.
I've compiled the following list for the Summer Reading Challenge:

1. SUMMER, Spell It Out
a. S = Sliver of Truth by Lisa Unger 4★s
b. U = Unforgotten by Tohby Riddle 3★s
c. M = Mister Owita's Guide to Gardening by Carol Wall 5★s
d. M = [book:Mandela: The Life of Nelson Mandela|19286655] by Rod Green 2.5★s
e. E = Elysium by Catherine Jinks 2.5★s
f. R = Ronan's Echo by Joanne van Os 5★s

2. A Book Relating to Christmas:
The Christmas Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini 4★s

3. Australian Author for Australia Day:
The Golden Age by Joan London 4.5★s

4. Romance, for Valentine's Day:
A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute 5★s

5. Literature Map: One of my favourite authors is Helen Garner, and the literature map took me to:
The Well by Elizabeth Jolley 2★s

6. Aussie Reader Friend - one of their Top 5: From the Top 5 list of Aussie Readers friend дshləigh, I chose Cry Blue Murder by Kim Kane 4.5★s

7. Australian Author, new release: N/A due to inability to access really recent releases.

8. Summer in the title or set in Summer:
Summer of the Seventeenth Doll by Ray Lawler 3★s

9. Historical fiction:
The Point of Death by Peter Tonkin2*#9733s

10. Favourite Genre, TBR: Crime fiction, and after many months on the 'reserve' list at my local library, I'm hoping it will come available sometime over summer (it didn't make it for the Spring Challenge, sadly.)
Cop Town by Karin Slaughter 4*★s

That's a toss up Sharon - I received a copy from the publisher yesterday and the letter with it said the publication date is/was 19/11 - I emailed Karly as I wasn't sure, she said she was totally confused herself! So it looks like it's been brought forward...BUT in saying that, with it as 1/12 in the database, I'd say "go for it"!! LOL
