Nurlely Chaol and Celaena are made for each other. Celaena/Aelin might be the powerful demi-fae and queen now, but she can not love anyone else the way she loves Chaol.

I think Dorian is not for Celaena. Left aside his Adarlan's trait, he is still Celaena's best friend and she will always care about him, but there was not love there, not even when they spent their time together, cuddling and kissing. There is no likely passion in the future too.

Rowan is awesome, but he will always be Aelin's super loyal guardian fae and her long distance cousin. There had been chances for them, if they ever feel any romance towards each other, but there was none and most likely be none in the future.

Aedion is Aelin's cousin and will always be her loyal supporter but he had always been that way for Aelin. When it comes to romance, even Aedion did not want to 'upset' his queen by having her lover assassinated.

Having no one beside Aelin is a bit cruel, for as mighty as she will be, she needs someone she loves wholeheartedly by her side.

She better ends up with Chaol or I will hate Sarah J Maas FOREVER! (copied from another thread... LOL)

Aces Rowan I actually thought to be her match also, but now that Dorian has come into the picture with his magic as ice... that isn't a co-incidence. As for Chaol, he's a pitiful person and I'd rather not waste my time o anyone's for that matter on him.
I actually thought Rowan's past wold be a bit more let's say 'different'. Not that losing his mate isn't sad and unfortunate it just to me when he explained to her why he is the way he is, it was very overused, cliche and quite frankly, a bore. I've heard of many male protagonists past such as his in many stories an it was just a hit in the face to read that garbage once again.

Just when I started to like Rowan, his character was a let down. A cliche, and I don't sit well with cliched characters -.-

I suppose you do not like the book then. 1 star? No wonder that your opinion is so bitter.

One star is like a gift than it is a criticism. The only reason why I gave it one star was because some of the characters actually gave me a reason to read this story. I guess if you find it bitter the way I am opinionated, than so be it.

I'd rather tell it how it is.

Wanderlust_Wanz I would love it if she ends up with Chaol. I know Chaol had some issues accepting some parts of Calaena for now but I believe in the next few series he will learn to accept and fully support Calaena.

Dorian could be her match....or he could be the deadly foe used against Celaena in an epic-battle, I imagine due to the ending of the third book o.O
I wonder how a fight between Dorian and her would play out...I don't think she'd have the guts to kill a friend, or someone she cares really about.
...Then again she almost did it to Chaol..

I actually would like to see that, a battle between Dorian and Celeana, it's realistic in terms of a battle to save the world from the clutches of Dorian's ass of a father. As for Chaol, he deserved it. No matter how in love a girl is, a best friend will be worth more, well, at least in my opinion.

If you missed my point, 1 star is "did not like it", never a gift to any books.

Leah Dorian because hello *swoon* though he is in a bit of trouble at the end of HoF but so is Aedion and Aelin is extremely badass so anything can happen I wouldn't pick Chaol because in books one and for half of book two I was all for chaolaena but in last half of book two and book three he has managed to piss me off so much that I'm just done with him and I wouldn't pick Rowan because although I love him and I love him and celaena together I'm one of this people who believe their relationship should be nothing more than platonic because they are basically parabatai and I just love their friendship I don't know how I feel about Aedion though depending on how sjm writes it I think it would be a really great relationship but if it's not Aedion or Dorian it should be no one because celaena by herself is so completely badass just wow

message 60: by Leah (new) - rated it 5 stars

Leah Though thinking about it Aedion and Aelin's relationship is really more of a sibling thing and would feel kinda like incest so I guess I'm Dorian or no one

Priscilla Rowan is an amazing match for her.
They know the past of the other and they understand each other.
I think Chaol only loves one part of Celeana but he is afraid of the other.

AbigailDenyse01 honestly I have no Idea I really like rowan, but I am not sure if he is right for her. I do think they are great together but I am not sure she is ready for a relationship because of all the people in her life that have hurt her or she has lost. also because she has lost so many people she might not let people close to her. but after that saying that... after some time... rowan is probably the best choice for her.

Pipkia Five guys! (Including the dead ones.) How to choose? HOW TO CHOOSE?!

Okay, so I love Sam, but he's dead, which I almost cried at in The Assassin's Blade. I hope she hunts down Arobynn and makes him pay.

I never really liked Chaol, especially the first time I read this series. He's okay at first, but then he's a bit like a lead weight. And plus, his part in Nehemia's death...

If you discount Sam, I was very team Dorian in the first two books, even when she was with Chaol. In the 3rd book he got Sorscha (and then quickly lost her again--sob) but I was okay with the whole new romance thing, namely because THERE WERE 2 NEW GUYS! WHO I BOTH LOVE!

Aedion: he's dedicated, he's sweet, he's a lot like Celaena/Aelin, and he is just so amazing. Best cousin/possible love interest EVER. Except for...

Rowan: Oh dear gods. Where to start? Rowan is the best character ever! How he starts of hating her and ends up Carranam and sworn intoher court? And when Celaena stared down Maeve and saved him from her? He is just perfect. Friends at the moment, but could there be...? I really, really hope so.

So, overall, my list is:

1. Rowan
2. Aedion
3. Dorian
4. Chaol

(Sam's not on there because she'd have to die to be with him, and I don't want that to happen. Plus, he loves Celaena... but what about Aelin?)

Read N' Ramble Yeah I know right, as much as we want Celeana to end up with so and so..it's not really up to us xP
But yeah I agree @Danielle. I think in the end she will end up with Chaol..
Is there a possibility where Chaol can become a fae?

message 68: by Aira (new) - rated it 5 stars

Aira ROWAN <3

Aspia I've always been team Chaol, but after Heir of Fire, my vote goes for Rowan, and I want to claim him, haha...~

Violeta I want to talk about something important: Rowan and Aelin / Celaena. I see many comments from people wanting a relationship between these two, but I do not want that to happen. Well, I explain myself: the connection, the friendship that exists between these two characters is such a strong bond of pure companionship, loyalty, truth, mutual respect, friendship and yes, love for each other, but a love quite different from romantic, it is rather the love one has for his best friend or to a brother. Yes, He understands her like nobody , he has been through similar things to those of Aelin penalties, itself is very like it and that's why they have such a strong bond, the reason for their friendship. If you create something romantic anytime, so perfect bond they have would be broken and I've only read about a friendship like this in the Skulduggery Pleasant books with the relationship between Valkyrie and Skulduggery. No all male characters who understand Celaena should be a romantic interest. Rowan is for Celaena a brother, a protector, his comrade, his comrade in arms ... they are very similar for the romance to be real. I do not know, this kind of friendships, links between a man and a woman are not intended for romance, for what I mentioned. They protect each other with their lives if necessary. Aelin also thinks about taking Rowan to bed and soon realizes that no, they do not see it that way. When she is burning and Rowan sees her naked to cool her, he doesn' care for her nakedness, and she for him to see; that is something that not many people get. I know that this review will not agree with mos of the people's opinions, but I see it that way. Rowan & Aelin are like Skulduggery & Valkyrie: they share a very deep friendship, so loyal and so real friendship that should not be disturbed by a romance senseless and unnecessary. Even the "To whatever end" that they share share these two reminds me of the "Until the end" between Valkyrie and Skulduggery (Ay, the feels!)

In fact, I think the romantic interest in the entire series will remain Chaol. Why? Because it is two people, Aelin and Chaol, that must overcome their prejudices, their fears, their errors and the parties of themselves and the other who are unable to love or it costs them. Not everything has to be idyllic, does not have to be the perfect romance of the typical romance novels, but one with potholes, difficulties, mistakes and fears that have to be overcome. So I think that Celaena and Chaol will remain the romantic part of the saga. Neither has stopped loving each other, although they seem. They will have to overcome difficulties until the two meet and accept the other. And, I repeat, it probably will not be many people who think alike . And I do not say this because I am totally Team Chaol, but because it's how I see it.
Sorry for my poor english, I'm Spanish :S

Sabrine Valquiria wrote: "I want to talk about something important: Rowan and Aelin / Celaena. I see many comments from people wanting a relationship between these two, but I do not want that to happen. Well, I explain myse..."

Very nicely worded =]
Don't worry about the English. We've got the United Nations represented in these threads, but instead of discussing worldly issues, we're all heavily debating who Celeana should end up with haha

I agree with you on the argument you made about Chaol. As much as I love Rowan, I think the series will lean towards Chaol and Aelin which is not a bad thing in my opinion for the reasons you stated. I just have a hard time visualizing how Chaol is supposed to fit into the Rowan/Aelin party. Rowan knows Aelin inside and out. They have not one, but two bonds. How is Chaol supposed to maneuver around that? I feel the only way Chaol and Aelin can surpass these types of bonds is if they ended up being mates.

Taleisha Rowan because he is a tall, masculine Fae warrior who like her, has past regrets tormenting him. They also eventually get along really well. He is also bound to her by the blood oath and they are carranam.

message 73: by Rita (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rita I love the characters of Rowan and Aedion equally but Aedion is her cousin so she can't really be with him, Celeana let Chaol go and she thinks of Dorian as a friend and nothing more. So Rowan is a logical choice.

We'll have to wait till september of 2015 to know something about it :'( I hope is the way i like, because I'll be angry If something romantic happens between Rowan and Aelin and ruins their beautiful friendship.

Nurlely Valquiria wrote: "I want to talk about something important: Rowan and Aelin / Celaena. I see many comments from people wanting a relationship between these two, but I do not want that to happen. Well, I explain myse..."

Yep... totally agree with you. If there had been romance between Aelin & Rowan, they would have made it back then, but their relationship goes no further than super loyal protector and his queen.

Chaol is the one.

haha :) I think Rowan is perfect for Celaena and I totally agree with you. Rowan is going to be by Celaena's side and he says that he's going to build up the new court with Celaena. So, I think that since Chaol is too loyal to the Dorian's kingdom and since Dorian is already Prince, Rowan is going to rule with and be with Celaena.

I agree that Chaol loves Celaena, but do you feel there are parts of her he cannot accept?"

There are defiantly points where you know he's not fully in love with her Fae side, but that's mostly because of all the stigma associated with magic around him. He still tries really hard and I think that's very admirable.

All that being said, Team Rowan all the way.

Belle Rowan!! I want this to happen so bad!!! Fell in love with him! And he's so tough on Celaena, and he has watched over her and see her struggle with who she is and sees the changes in her over time.

And I there's something about Chaol that I just love! He's just such a good guy!!

message 82: by Mena (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mena CHAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!

Rachel Dorian for life!!!!

Katie Riley I really think Chaol is going to die, I've been paranoid about it since the end of CoM. Who knows maybe SHE will die?! I ship her with so many people I'd honestly be happy with anyone as long as they all live.

Ansly Estevez Dorian. The end! ❤️ Just him! Team Dorian, I'm still not team chaol...? I like Rowan but I think of him more as a chill friend of hers..

It's celorian

Christine Jo Rowan. i have like no words for this. just Rowan. Rowan. Rowan

Ansly Estevez Rachel wrote: "Dorian for life!!!!"

Yesssss❤️❤️❤️❤️

The Book Addict Alice wrote: "Can i vote for sam!"

Sadly, you can't, since the only way for Celaena to be with Sam is for either him to miraculously come to life, or for her to die (which CANNOT happen).

Regardless, I'm sure there are many who wish this wasn't so (including myself), but I don't see a way out of it.

Taylor Madden Celaena is such a strong character that I feel out of place even trying to decide who she should stay with because she's so independent.
Answer: whoever she wants

Jayda I've been Dorian from the start, but I also like Rowan too. Chaol does not deserve her!

Nurlely Taylor wrote: "Celaena is such a strong character that I feel out of place even trying to decide who she should stay with because she's so independent.

That's interesting and a very good answer.
However... Chaol is the only man she ever wants, so if she wants love or if she wants to rule with her love by her side, she will choose Chaol. If she chooses just to rule her empire, she will be alone. Anyone she even chooses but Chaol will only be for her companion, not her lover. Even Aedion acknowledged who Chaol is for his queen.

As much as tempting can Rowan and Dorian be, from book 1 until book 3, Aelin did not love them as she ever did Chaol, in a romantic way. She wanted Rowan once, to get rid of her frustration and to forget Chaol. She was in Dorian's embrace and even did lots of kissing, but she did not even look at Dorian the way she looked at Chaol.

Jeanette For me the relationship with Dorian Havilliard is over. It was just a fling or physical attraction, nothing more. I want them to be good friends for the rest of their days.

Aedion Ashryver acts too much like a servant/slave, no mind for his own, just for Aelin his Queen. He wil marry her if that is what she wanted, he says. But I cant wait to see them finally together, as "siblings".

Chaol Westfall..it was nice. But over. It would be refreshing if they don't end up together. If they do it's just like any other romance. Boring. Predictable.

Rowan Whitethorn, I want something to happen here. Don't know yet if I want them together. But definitely not while they are bonded together. Because that would make me mad!

and dont forget..

Ansel of Briarcliff! I want them to meet again!!!

But as the story ended in the las book I want Celaena/Aelin to end up with no one. I want a little flirting here and there, nothing more.

Holly Graham Chaol

Ansly Estevez Jayda wrote: "I've been Dorian from the start, but I also like Rowan too. Chaol does not deserve her!"
Yesss thank u

Taylor Rowan,I love Chaol but he seriously screwed up even if Celeana tried to forgive him she wouldnt fully trust him like she once did.

Lauren Dorian is BORING!!!! At least Chaol didn't instantly lust for Celaena while it was really just lust when Dorian and Celaena together.

Daliannys TEAM ROWAN! Chaol doesnt deserve her anymore and i see Dorian as just a friend. I think the Chaol/Dorian ship sank with this book. Rowan matches Celeanas strengths and accepts Celeana for who she is with all her flaws whereas Chaol only seemed to weaken her and couldnt even accept Celeanas fae side and Aedion seems more like a family thing
