That's frustrating.... I don't have a back-up except for the 2018 list https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... my memory of what I was still looking for.

If it helps to know this, the challenge will be back for 2020.
This is a hard lesson to learn, and it's a day late and a dollar short, but...it's a really good idea to back up your challenges in another place. Personally, I have a private group I set up here on Goodreads where I track everything. Also, if you have a personal thread here under the Challenge Logs section, that is a great place to track and/or back up your challenges. It's your own personal thread and you are welcome to post anything in there...it's strictly for your use. A great example of this is Ed's Challenges (hope you don't mind me using your thread as an example, Ed).
So if something like this happens, I have that challenge to go to. Another great back up to use is DropBox. I use that as well. You get the first 5GB free of charge, and to give you an idea...I have approximately 137 challenges going right now, and they are all backed up to DropBox, and I still have plenty of room for more.
Another great source and one that is free is Google Docs. You just have to sign up for a Google account (free). It has a Word and and Exel format that can be used...again, it's free.
I hope all of this info helps you all going forward, and more importantly gives you a few options to use so that you don't lose and entire challenge from here forward.

I tried keeping backup on my computer when I first started GR, but --of course,-- I stopped as time went on and I didn't see the need. Obviously, I have changed my mind. Posting in the log here is a good idea. I do most of my updating on my kindle fire so that will keep me from posting on two devices. That's what frustrated me before.
Oh man, I totally forgot that cyber space ate our progress. I was going to ask if Bree is acceptable for Aubree/Aubrey though. Even if I'd have remembered, I hadn't had time to fill in the books for names. I was just going at it like an old dinosaur, marking off on a paper lol. At least I have my paper copies of this to work from once I get time. Are you using the same names for 2020, jingles?

I will use the same list for 2020...because I just know one of us will eventually find all the names!
So what will happen is, the new thread for 2020 will be set up with the same names, but you will leave off all the names you've found so far.
So, if there are 200 names total, and you've found 100 of them, you will just "carry over" the 100 names you are still looking for.
Once someone has found all the names from the original list we started with, I'll find a new list for us to work on.
Does that make sense?

Below is a similar description of how the challenge posted for 2019.
Here is how the 2019 challenge works: Below is a list of 100 male names and 100 female names - a total of 200 names. If you participated in this challenge in 2018, you are working forward from that challenge - leaving off all the names you found in 2018, and starting with a fresh list for 2019 for the remaining names you have left to find.
You can use a total of four names per book.
The challenge began January 1, 2019, and will run through December 31, 2019. This is a recurring challenge that will post again for 2020.
