Hi Wendy, I'm also from Australia (currently living in Canada) :)

I am a new Author I just launched my first book/novel October 24th. I am inspired to write to the broken hearted to inspire hope after a devastating heart break. My book is doing well. I've gotten some great reviews. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. But I did it! I would love to read some of your pieces.

I am Chika and I joined goodreads a couple of days ago and I am just trying to get a hang of things here. I must say this site is addictive. I am an author of an inspirational fiction novel titled Twisted in a Positive Way which can be found on amazon UK here http://amzn.to/1LYYXoP and US here http:http://amzn.to/1O7dDU6. I am here to meet as many like-minded people as possible and also to learn and interact with people. In addition to this, I would like anyone who would be up for reading and reviewing my novel.
**Update: Twisted in a Positive Way is now available on Kindle Unlimited for anyone who wishes to review it

Hi everybody,
I am Theodoor. I am Dutch, but have spent the last 8 years of my life in Taiwan, where I entered Buddhist studies. I feel blessed to have been able to spend much time seeking the truth of happiness. As many of you, I have just published my first book, titled 'My Power to Change'. It is about my life going through the process of change. I made it to Goodreads recently and I have started a blog on my author's page here, so please join me if you wish.

A non-fiction memoir in the narrative medicine genre, From My Mother may be of interest to you! Blurb:
Riveting, soulful, and courageously told, From My Mother is a meditation on grief, family, genetic disease and also a deeply personal account of the narrator’s coming-of-age amid medical crisis and tragedy to carry on the lessons from her mother to raise her young son. A story of loss, From My Mother is full of life, a story of beginnings as much as endings, a moving book that transforms suffering into art and inspiration. Darcy Leech was born to Jo Lyn Bartz, a mother who carried myotonic muscular dystrophy, a disease 1 in 8500 suffer from. Jo Lyn’s son, Dustin Ryan Bartz, was born with congenital muscular dystrophy with a high enough frequency of protein repeat mutations that of his 13 years of life, every day defied prior medical knowledge. Leech narrates a moving meditation of the enduring mysteries of what dormant harbingers of genetic disease may lurk within, the surprising possibilities in loss, and the deep resilience of the human spirit as the body weakens.
The narrative highlights the relationship between diseased mother and healthy daughter, revealing Jo Lyn as a woman of strength, a caretaker who quietly marched toward her own degenerative weakness, someone grappling for identity while ostracized by an invisible disease, and a resilient spirit who endured holding the child who inherited her genetic misfortune as he took his last breath. From My Mother is the honest story of finding joy through loss, living fully within limitations, and the universal struggle of grappling for identity against the device of innate genetic code through invested love and personal choice. From My Mother leaves the reader pondering the value of genetic testing, the beauty in a disease easy to accept as genetic fault, and the heart wrenching question of when life should be sustained by machine or ended by choice.

I believe that how we care for ourselves and how we chose to live expresses either self-compassion and self love or self-loathing. There is always a positive shift in perception through feeling good and better health.

Hi Nancy, I share your philosophy, just wish I was living it right now - too many Christmas chocolates!
Wishing you all the best with your book, it sounds great.

My name is Janie and I am new here I'm a writer, yes a writer I love saying it! I write romance but full of CULTURA and RAZA. I write what I know, and love is very real. I know because I put them to bed at 9pm sharp every night so they can be ready for school and I wake up to him for the last 16years. Glad to be here!

My primary message is God is our Mother as well as Father!
Jesus revealed God in his spoken Aramaic language as "ABBA"
meaning our "Heavenly Parent" and includes the Mother as well
as the Father!
The oneness of God is reflected by the alike, yet uniqueness
between us, and all our stages in between, that we see in the
life of nature, as well as within ourselves.
We are more alike than different, and when we do not have equal
rights or equal opportunities, our culture, beliefs, treatment of each
other, become enslaving, unbalancing forces, we all suffer from!
Confirmation of our equality can also can be found in the Universal
Golden Rule, within the hearts of those of goodwill!

a false male only image of God that adds to inequality, poverty,

Hi Lisa, I've lived in the Chicago area most of my adult life but I grew up in New York and attended SUNY Binghamton. I hate snow. Anyway, let me suggest my book "Breaking the Fall." It's the story of Sherry a therapist with secrets of her own and the stories of her clients, people who live in our midst but whose stories remain invisible. How they impact each other is the issue. It's available on Amazon as a paperback and as a Kindle.

Hi Betty, post 136. Your post was interesting about a femine and masculine God. I wrote an essay about how our Heavenly Mother assisted our Heavenly Father in creating this earth--and that is why mother earth is so beautiful. I try to post it here. I also wrote a book, "Divine Intervention" a best seller in its genre. (Amazon & Barnes and Noble). Here goes:
Actually I do not know how to attach a two-page script?

Dear Bright Souls,
This looks like a wonderful group, and I'm happy to be a part of it. I'm a recently published novelist and, like most of you, much prefer to read literature with substance--works that encompass the spiritual levels of being, fiction and non-fiction, visionary works that ask questions and allow the reader to find their own answers.
My debut novel, "The Improbable Wonders of Moojie Littleman," is the story of a gifted, disabled boy in search of family. It won the int'l 2015 Gelett Burgess Children's Book award, and is a finalist in the UK's Wishing Shelf Book Award (adult category).
If the group would like to read and discuss it, I'd be happy to provide free ebooks.
Wishing you much inspiration and endless joy!
Warm blessings,
Robin

I'm Amy, I'm a social activist around the oppression of women (mainly sexual violence). I do a lot of public speaking and have released my debut novel Disillusioned Love a modern romance take "with a rock-n-roll twist", but with some distinct social commentary by the book's protagonist.
Be on the lookout for my next piece: The Destruction of Lilacs which is my creative non-fiction memoir of enduring and healing form multiple experiences with sexual violence. Hoping to get that released as early as this summer.

I too am a recently published author with a message of love and how we have strayed from it and our true purpose in this world.
"The Greatest Story Ever Told - Take Two: The Beginning" is the first installment of an inspirational allegorical romance series which blends the ancient history of Egypt and Palestine with more recent revelations in archeology, theology and astronomy. Philosophy and rationalism are interwoven into the tale to communicate an uplifting message of hope and purpose, and to introduce the truth about our past. Looking forward to being a part of this thread.

Love--the You, the Me, the Us written by a professor who is a family counsellor. Not light reading, but if you really want to understand the dynamics of loving, it is essential.
Finding Yourself in the Town of Geniuses--Climbing the Road to Self Realization is an incredible book on the stories of geniuses with more than 30 videos to illustrate the essence of each genius, like:Churchill's "We Are the Masters of our Fate" speech to the US Congress, Pavarotti singing an aria from Puccini's La Boheme, the Bolshoi ballet in Swan Lake and even a Charlie Chaplin film. There is also a self help thread to stimulate the reader to creativity. Definitely a classic. Suggest the ebook for $2.99 (with traditional,, not Kindle, rather than the print book.
