oshizu | 5762 comments Would anyone be interested in reading Guy Gavriel Kay's duology Sarantine Mosaic? It is a historical fantasy with a setting based on the sixth-century Mediterranean world.

1. Sailing to Sarantium - February (448 pages)
2. Lord of Emperors - March (531 pages)

Hanča (citron) | 94 comments Hi, would anyone be interested in reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee in one of the upcoming months - let's say February? It's the oldest book on my goodreads TBR so I would like to finally knock this one out.

Also I'd like to continue with the Mistborn series so can I be added for book 2 and 3 in Jan-Feb?

message 154: by Shareen (new)

Shareen Ghabrial (ghabi) | 299 comments Does this also apply for the Atwood trilogy (MaddAddam)? I just started Crake. Thanks for everything!

Shareen Ghabrial (ghabi) | 299 comments THANK YOU! I would love to Buddy on all three. Are all three scheduled for January, though? That would be a little tight, and I would otherwise just stick with the one. Assuming that Thread is not officially launched.
Kristin wrote: "@Shareen, yes it does. Do you want to join the full MaddAddam trilogy or just Oryx & Crake?"

Hey Ashley! Sure, I'd love to :)

Can somebody please explain this newbie if I need to create the thread or look for it somewhere? I honestly have no idea who is in charge of doing it, since this year is going to be my first participating in this group's buddy reads... 🙃
Sorry for any inconvenience, I'm super excited for my upcoming BRs!!

Kristin is in charge of the buddy reads, and she will post all the threads. There will be a folder called January Buddy Reads on the homepage soon, and she will let everyone know when all the buddy read threads are posted by posting it in this thread.

They are scheduled for three months :) We will read Oryx & Crake in January, The Year of the Flood in February, and MaddAddam in March. You can also see all planned reads in our spreadsheet that is linked in the first post of this topic.

Rainer F (rainierbooks) | 11 comments In January 2020, I want to read Night Boat to Tangier by Kevin Barry, Red at the Bone by Jacqueline Woodson and We, The Survivors by Tash Aw. Anyone in for one of these?

February will hopefully be the time for Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata, The Butterfly Girl by Rene Denfeld and Fugitives and Refugees: A Walk in Portland, Oregon by Chuck Pahlaniuk.

Would be great to have a reading buddy for any of these titles in Jan or Feb next year.

@Alison
Hello there! Our buddy read group will also be reading Stormlight Archive #2.5: Edgedancer, which is a much shorter book (~270 pages).
Just checking to see if you'd also like to join us for that Buddy Read in July (between Books 2 and 3). No pressure!

Hi! November was about nov 2019. To me in January may be a bit difficult because I have things that I have been delaying during holidays and I am in another BR for Mistborn saga on January.

So because I don't want to say yes and having to postpone afterwards, I'd say from February (or later, if you prefer).

Let me know =)
