Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments Thanks everyone for your shelf links - we are all set there.

I updated Post 18 with more BR info and start dates, and added a section for BOM discussion questions so we can see who is doing what.

Though it won't count for the challenge, I'm participating in the BOM discussion for The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton right now. They started yesterday and I'm playing catch up tonight, so if anyone wants to join me, thread is here. I don't know if it will stretch to the 8th, but I also plan to join The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastard, #1) by Scott Lynch on 11/2 (thread here). It's a series, too, so we could always buddy read the rest of them.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments OK, I'll work on the sister group later tonight and try to get thinks ready as soon as possible. Don't be mad at me, if I don't get it all functional before Saturday, OK?

There are a lot of little details we're still working for tower teams and it takes a while to have it all oiled up and running.

No rush. I keep reminding myself that this challenge doesn't start for two more weeks. :)

IT'S NOT STARTING YET LOGAN SO CHILL.

Lol oh trust me, I would be disappointed if there wasn't frequent spying! I already did some of my own when the groups first formed up. ;)

Logan wrote: Great news! Melissa, I haven't read those series yet so I probably won't BR those, but now that I know we can do adult content I'm sure we can find plenty of other books to try. ;)

Yeah somehow I don't see that being a problem,lol

I'm debating the HP one, too. I was just telling someone the other day that I want to re-read and re-watch the HP books and movies. Well, here's a great chance! But do I have the time?

I don't think I got to read a single book picked for me from that challenge :( I did get to a couple from the Secret Santa one though :) I added all books to my tbr list...so I have high hopes!

I can't believe it's almost that time again!

Oh, I'm such an idiot. I thought you meant pictures! Oh boy, need more coffee. lol

I utterly failed at my quarterly challenges. I think I read two or three of your picks from my TBR but didn't get to any of the new books. I did add them all to my TBR though! Maybe we can do one as a buddy read? (Unless you've read them and don't want to re-read.)

Yay!! Can't wait! I think it's been almost 20 years since I last read that book, so it will be interesting to see if my perspective changes reading it again.

Ok, I'm confirming my buddy reads here as much for my own sanity as anyone else's! LOL

Dark Tower Series
Harry Potter Re-Read Series
Wheel of Time (When the thread is made)

Going to participate in the BOM The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch too

If I add more, will keep all of you updated since you are so interested ;) Jk...we busy readers.

Since you are participating in the BOM, if you write a set of questions for the book you get an extra 40 points. You just sign up to do it on the discussion thread. I'm not sure when the cutoff is to sign up, but it's sometime before the start date of the BOM.

Thank you! Yeah I thought about doing the discussion questions, but I am not sure if I can find the time to do them in November. But if someone else from our team does it we get the 40 pts anyway right? Only one book per month per team?

message 237: by [deleted user] (new)

But if it looks like we are reaching the deadline but no one else from the group is participating then I will definitely start doing them.

message 238: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments Only one team member per book. So, we can get the points for each BOM, if someone writes the questions for them.

message 239: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments Yep, Kristie's got it. Only one team member per team can do the questions, unless they don't have enough volunteers in which case they will open it up to multiples per team. Also, if too many people volunteer, they'll do a random draw.

You can still earn participation points for each person that participates in the BOM discussions, with multiple people from teams allowed, just like in buddy reads.

Jenn (engelsigh) | 1339 comments I'm almost half way through The Dinner by Herman Koch and it is nothing like Gillian Flynn... :( Not even very suspenseful.

message 241: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments Ok, so I had to withdraw from writing the questions for The Knife of Never Letting Go. I've already read it and we don't get the points unless the read date is after Nov 8. I don't have any interest in doing a re-read, so I figured I'd withdraw and leave the spot for any of you if you want to do it.

message 242: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments Well I have been meaning to read that one. But it's one of those books that everyone says is amazing but when I pick it up to flip through or read the back copy it doesn't pull me in. So I keep resisting.

One of the most disappointing books I have read :(
So much potential, but bad execution
But I seem to be the minority as it is a very popular book
