Koontzland - Dean Koontz discussion
Welcome to Koontzland!
>
what are you currently reading?
I am currently re-reading, Tarzan of the Apes. I hadn't read it since I was a kid. I had forgotten how good it really was. It is not a children's book at all.
Tonight I'm picking
for the second time, I had a really hard time getting into it last time I tried to read it, I guess my heart just wasn't in it. I haven't read anything by Koontz in like, forever! But I really want to get back into the Odd Thomas series, I just have two books left in the series!

Currently reading A Fistful of Collars, which is a fun mystery, though I think the earlier books in the series have been better than this one so far.
I am reading
. I read it years and years ago. All I remember is the skyscraper setting. It wasn't my favorite DK novel. At the time I was reading book after book by DK and that might have affected my enjoyment back then.
I JUST finished The Silent Corner today. Liked it. And based on the preview for The Whispering Room at the end of SiIent I expect to love that one. Anyway, I have begun the nonfiction book Obsession by FBI profiler John Douglas. I read his book Mindhunter years ago and this one seems as good if not better.
Finished Sleeping Beauties. Rushed thru since I had to return to the Library. Not my fave, not his worst. Now reading Fay Kellerman Killing Season, a stand-a-lone. Loving it so far
Just finished The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen, 83 1/4 years old. Now starting the sequel to it. reading a lot of different things lately, but Koontz is on the pile 'to read soon'
I am reading *deep breath* Wind Through the Keyhole by Stephen King (almost done and really like it), Nest by Terry Goodkind (meh but I refuse to leave a book incomplete) and last but not least...The Whispering Room! Only 200 pages left in Whispering and I have found myself enjoying more as I am getting towards the end.
The Aeronauts Windlass (Cinder Spires 01) by Jim Butcher. Pretty good so far. Big fan of Jim Butcher since the Dresden Files.
No Dean Koontz, as I have a few review copies to get through. Starting "On A Midnight Clear" and "Red Stick Two."
I remember listening to Hideaway on audio (in the year 2000) along with my husband and we absolutely loved it! I semi-recently started THE SILENT CORNER. I am also reading several Odd Thomas books that I missed. So far, so good!
Matthew wrote: "Am reading Tell No One by Harlan Coben. My 1st Coben (which just happens to be one of his stand-alone novels) and am thoroughly enjoying it."I remember reading a book or two by Harlan Coben and he is a great writer! There are so many good writers, great stories and things to keep up with but finding the time to read really stinks.
Just got done reading theseThe Other Girl: A Novel by Erica Spindler One of her best book she has writen in years! I really loved it
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware I loved this book so much Just as good as her book The Lying Game! I hope she writes more soon
Fuzzy Navel by J.A. Konrath OMG I loved this book and the ending a clifhanger I so gotta read Cherry Bomb to see who Jack family that die! So Good!
A Cold Day For Murder by Dana Stabenow I saw it at my library though it might look good but I so couldnt get into it. I finsh it but dont think I be reading more from this person
Fatal Voyage by Kathy Reichs Slowely getting this series read Someone told me the books is 100% better then the Bones Tv Show and They are sooo right The Books are just wonderful!
This is all for now I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
Oh Yeah I am starting on Perfect Nightmare by John Saul

Perfect Nightmare :-) I've read that a couple of times. I got into John Saul as a teenager, before I met Dean Koontz. John has stopped writing, he's a nice a person.
I'm currently reading Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore

Sleeping Beauties sounds excellent... I will likely get it from the library after the clamor for it dies a bit.

As far as I can recall, I really enjoyed it, too. I don't remember if I wrote a review of it or not. (Just how long have I been in my reviewing slump? ???)
EDIT/UPDATE: I DID review it. My review of Ready Player One is here. :-)

Thanks Jen :-) I'm gonna try to read Ready Player One in 2018. The Movie won't be in theaters until March 30th so I think I'll easily be able to get through the book before then.
A Wrinkle in Time will be released as a film on March 9th, so I'm gonna try to read that one too. I don't remember reading the book.

Ive only gotten through the first few pages of Ready Player One because I keep getting bogged down in all the pop culture references (the novel has footnotes lol). One of these days I will muster up the focus to read the book for the story and look at footnotes later.
Starting on By the Light of the Moon by Dean Koontz & Then I will read All Fall Down by Erica Spindler
Reading it now, as usual you need to signify the book's title in the story? By the light of the moon? Who says it? Where is it? Thanks

Excellent! If you are reading or have already read The Whispering Room, then you are making the right choices in your life. Congratulations! You are on the right path which will next lead to The Crooked Staircase.
I will read The Whispering Room as soon as I finish Sleeping Beauties.....I’m almost done and I’m looking forward to hanging out with Jane again!!!
I keep trying to read "Echo Burning" but I don't think Mr. Child has ever been near Texas. It's kind of hard to read.
Gave up on "Echo Burning." It turns out, Mr. Child, uh, hated Texas. And doesn't know the first thing about us.
