I really want to read The Three Musketeers sometime so I'll keep an eye out for that buddy discussion if the mood strikes to read it/the series.

I would do Sharp Objects all though I don't like her books/characters. That is her only one I haven't read. Can't wait to see the movie Gone Girl

December works for me! Yay! :)

Uh. I might be able to read

Are you still up for this? I just got my copy yesterday and am (im)patiently waiting to being! We'll use the old BOM thread.
Mods can we count this as a buddy read for the tower team challenge, or do we have to count it as a BOM?

Can I join?

@Kelly - I also have Dark Witch in my TBR and need to read it. I usually love Nora Roberts but this one somehow has become my Achilles heal, somehow I can't get myself to read it. Maybe a BR would do the trick. What dates do you have in mind for this one?

Of course!
Danielle wrote: "I also just reserved a copy from my library (stolen) and am down for a buddy read."
The more, the merrier! We are planning on starting it on the 8th. I probably won't be able to read more than 50 pages a day, depending on my work schedule, so it'll take about a week to finish.

People tend to love it or hate it. I hated it, my friend loved it. But there are defenitely lots of people on both sides.

I think Gillian Flynn's novels are love/hate, too. Nobody I know stands the middle ground at least. Probably means she's doing something right!

Cool. It's on my kindle somewhere

LOL!! too funny! I think I would have liked the book better if it didn't have all the hype. My expectations were too high going into it:)

Yes, It's a BR as the BOM has already passed

This one is currently available for download from Netgalley

and I like the sound of the synopsis. Any Historical Fiction fans feel like giving it a whirl with me?

Hi Joi,
Reading it a weeks time or longer is fine with me, for sure. Is there going to be a buddy read thread set up for it? Just curious where we are planning to go to discuss it.
Also, I sent you a private message yesterday - wondering if you got it?

Anita, that works for me.. a little far ahead for me, but I'll just return the book to the library and pick it up closer to whichever date we choose.

I'll read it with you Karen. I just downloaded it and it sounds pretty good.
Any idea when you want to read it? November is a little busy for me.

We'll be discussing the book in the old BOM thread,

this thread

Okay. and when does it start?

I did get your message and I just responded.

Could you update the thread with a comment on the new start date (or let me know when)? I've been looking at this book over and over and may be interested in joining in. Thanks!

Same here! Towards the end of Dec or Jan for me

I haven't ever looked at a BOM discussion because I am new to this group, but wouldn't using that thread give us a bunch of spoilers...?

Possibly, but depends on if you just use the thread as a reference point, or if you actually use it and read through what's previously been discussed. Someone explained to me re: using another thread it's nice because people from the previous read sometimes also chime in, so more discussion ensues. Rather than duplicating what's already been done, you can just pick up on their thread, and then chose not to read older comments if you're worried about that. I just started a read using another thread and it was nice because they had Discussion Questions that we decided we'll use...I'm just avoiding reading anything that's tagged as a spoiler until after I'm done!

I can get the book now. When is a good date for you?

I'd have more time in January, especially around the 15th and later. Would that work for you?

Joi said "I can get the book now. When is a good date for you? "
I can start this any day really. Would you prefer to start soon (say next week sometime?) or wait a little longer? I should be able to keep it from the library for a couple weeks.

I've already read the first two books in this series, but if you end up continuing on, I may join you when you get to The Mark of Athena. It just depends what else I'm obligated to when you get there.

15th jan sounds good!

The start date is November 8. It hasn't been added to the list of BRs for some reason.

Oone of the mods suggested we use that thread. I just wasn't going to read anything before the start date of the buddy read.

I would love to re-read this series again. I love Nora Roberts and have also read her series multiple times over the past few years. When are you planning on reading it?

I was thinking towards the end of November but that's not a set thing so i'm happy to read whenever you like.

End of November suits me too. These books finish pretty quickly, so I can squeeze them in with my other reads. Should we say about the 28th of November or do you want to read it earlier?

The 28th sounds fine.

Cool. :)
Is there an existing thread or would it have to be created? any idea?

No there's no existing thread, it will have to be created by the mods.
