Most Sedaris books have me in stitches!

I'm making progress on my two audiobooks.
Perri, so far I'm finding Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things funny though it would probably help it I knew who the author was. I'm reading it to complete a tricky challenge in a different group.

I love David Sedaris and gosh just hearing his name makes me realize there is at least one book I have yet to read - how lucky I am :)
I also really like Jenny Lawson, I follow her on twitter and instagram - funny lady for sure.
I have made very little progress on my Audiobook, Where'd You Go, Bernadette but have read 60% ofCome Find Me so that should get finished today. Both books are for the 2019 challenge.

I'll likely wait to see what quest three has in store for us before deciding what to pick up next. I've got some buddy reads to work on in the meantime. Happy reading!

I quite like the narrator and think she is doing a good job with all the different parts. I made a point to get this on my list because I wanted to read it before seeing the movie, it is in theaters now.
Seeing Orcas must be fun even if the appearance is brief. I am going on a cruise to Alaska in a few weeks and hoping to get many Whale sightings.

Not much reading today, since I'm back at work. Hopefully I can finish Flatland tonight.

How was it? I feel like I always need a graphic novel or two every year between my book challenges. I tend to default to graphic memoir.

and of The Book of Strange New Things

Traci, I "found" Graphic Novels a few years ago and really devoured them one year, so that year is off the charts for books read haha. I'd love some recs if you have some. I loved The Complete Maus Preludes & Nocturnes (Sandman) Bone: The Complete Edition (no need to be put off my the JF) Welcome to Lovecraft

Chrissy, I didn't know the movie was out already. Disappointed but not too surprised . What about The Art of Racing in the Rain, a book I loved now in theaters?

Chrissy - So interesting that you have that perspective with Chemistry. Have you gotten any insight into your life!?!? I'm going to add this to my TBR, ah grad school.
Nice job finishing up books Deborah and Sarah.
I'll read mine until I go to bed, but I might end up finishing it over breakfast.
2 to go on Quest #2!

Good job team and good night.

Traci, I think I'm the only one not happy with Persepolis, but the other looks great! If you live in Seattle, we're neighbors!
Alaina, what did you think of Dog Stars?
Bring on Quest 3!

Perri, I think I miss read what you wrote about Orcas, I though you were saying they made an appearance where you live but it is where you live :) Very nice place to call home.
I live in the Redmond area we are thinking about moving somewhere north near the San Juan's.
I finished Come Find Me and started Luck, Love & Lemon Pie hope they work for the new quest!

I finished the Dew Breaker and was hoping we'd have the new Quest to help decide which book to bring to work to read during lunch, but I guess I'll just pick one!

Off to work, but I'll try to keep an eye out for our quest in case we need a spreadsheet update.

Smaller. I just looked at a map, it was either North or South Pender Island I'm pretty sure.

Even better!

I agree the first was better than the second.

I gather we're still waiting on our next quest so will keep an eye out!

Right now I have these books as finished but not used for a quest. Let me know if I missed anyone's books.
Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances~ Devin 9/9/19
Come Find Me ~Samantha 9/10/19
The Dew Breaker~ Traci 9/10/19

Oops, that was me. Misread her post! I'll fix it.

Right now I ha..."
No I just started Luck, Love & Lemon Pie so still reading, thanks for checking.
I also mentioned Simplicity of Cider the other day but not going to be reading that one.
thanks for keeping your eye on the details!

I should finish my two audio books tonight. Based on quest 3 I will figure out my next one.

Traci, I think I'm the only one not happy with Persepolis, but the other looks great! If you live in Seattle, we're..."
Unfortunately I ended up giving The Dog Stars 2 stars. The writing style really didn't work for me and the story was just meh. Oh well, you win some you lose some.
I'm also going to go ahead and get started on Sharp Objects and hopefully it works somewhere for quest 3.
Quest #3
For our next stop, we're going to take a trip back in time... for most of us. Some of the group may remember being a member of the girl scouts in school, even if for a short time. If not that, you may enjoy the lovely time of year (my personal favorite) when we order girl scout cookies.
Girls scouts haven't always been treated the same way as their male counterparts. Since then, many have advocated for increased equality and, in June of this year, they added 42 new badges for girl scouts, encouraging more well-rounded skill development and exploration.
So for this challenge you get to explore some of those badges. Each team will be asked to read books somehow connected to the various categories. This can include a number of different things, including title, content, setting, cover, etc. In the spirit of equality, you will also be asked to read books linked to the various boy scout badges. Use your imagination and have fun!
Girl Scout Badges
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math [2 books needed]
- Robotics [What Robots Do, Programming/Designing Robots, How Robots Move, Showcasing Robots]

- Cybersecurity [Cybersecurity Basics/Safeguards/Investigator]
- Space Science [Space Science Explorer/Investigator/Researcher/Expert/Master]
Outdoors [1 Book Needed]
- Outdoor [Hiker, Camper, Trailblazing, Adventurer]
Life Skills [3 Books Needed]
- Artist [Painting, Drawing, Comic Artist, Collage Artist, Photographer]
- Citizen [Good Neighbor, Celebrating Community, Inside Government, Finding Common Ground, Behind the Ballot, Public Policy]
- First Aid
Entrepreneurship [1 Book Required]
- Cookie Business [Count it Up, Meet my Customers, Cookie CEO, Business Plan, My Portfolio, Research and Development, Talk it Up, Give Back, Customer Insights, Marketing, Customer Loyalty, P&L, Think Big]

- Innovation [Inventor, Product Designer, Entrepreneur, Social Innovator]
Note: You only have to read the number of books specified for each section. Each list contains multiple badge categories (i.e. digital arts). The specific badges are listed in parentheses (i.e. Computer Expert). You may read multiple books from the same category, just like a scout can explore each area more in-depth. But you can't earn more than one of the same, specific badge.
Boy Scout Badges
Boy Scouts have a whopping 137 badges to choose from, with subjects spanning all the way from "Bugling" to "Dog Care". For the remainder of your quest, simply choose 8 topics from the (modified) list. You are only permitted to read 1 book per item so you will read 8 different "topics".This should give you a total of 15 badges in order to move forward.

Again, be creative in your connections. This is all for fun and there is no need to be literal. For instance, for the financial literacy category, you may even read a coming-of-age story for someone moving away from home in order to fulfill the "On My Own" badge.

I’m also working on Where the Crawdads Sing which could count for Outdoors, I think. It may be a couple of days before I finish that one, though

My books should work for these two tasks. I've got some errands to run and I'll update this post.
