High Five: reporting ONLY

That's what got me confused as well, since I also believed it would be the new number.
Jmom just posted that I go on from #3.

I was on space 3 and rolled 17, which lands me on 20 - book of your choice!
I've no idea yet as to what I'll read. So:
I'll think I'll donate it to the pool...
So if someone ends up with something they don't like, they are welcome to this! And I'll keep an eye out to what other tasks there are in the pool.

I think it helps if you look at the task and the roll as sometimes separate things. When anybody other than "the dice" (random number generator) determines what your task will be, then you don't physically move to that spot. Instead you stay on the spot where you had landed from rolling the dice.
So when I got assigned the task associated with 9, I stayed at 36 because that was where I'd landed from my roll. This was consistent with everyone else staying on the numbers they rolled tho we all swapped first tasks.
Does this help? Hope so.

Oh, okay!! Hmm, maybe in my case it happened in the first round, and Jmom had everyone stay on their original spot so it wouldn't get so confusing since we all had to swap - and we may swap more if we get new members - ??

I got 15 for my 9th roll, sending me to 33 which is a Do you feel lucky? space. I'll see what I get.

Wow, how many books will you read? Last time I managed 4 - and was very proud of it! ;)

Since I was on square 5, I go as far as square 6, Oriental Avenue – My mind keeps thinking of Murder on the Orient Express. Read a murder mystery or true life murder book.
Since it's the genre I read the most, I am taking the task and will confirm what I will be reading tonight :)

I'm pretty sure Rebecca mentioned a minimum of 10 books and maybe more?
Always good to have a couple crazy big readers in a team! :)

Yes, of course! It just makes me jealous! ;)

27 = Lane Stadium (Virginia Techopoly) Read a book with a college student or professor as a main character. This includes graduate school.
Interesting I will go hunting

I'd love to try and beat that but I don't think I can!

I don't even know how many hours a day I normally read ;)...

I will read at least ten, but it will probably be more.
For my lucky square I got Read a book with an animal on the cover, so I'll have to go through all my books again.

It doesn't need to be added to your TBR, does it say it has to be in your TBR from before?

Ah, that makes sense. I was wondering whether to do it that way too.

For task 8, historical fiction with a real character I will read Frederica by Georgette Heyer. Lady Jersey is at a ball with the main characters. http://www.regencyhistory.net/2011/11...
For task 9, my lucky space-animal on cover-I will read

I was making that assumption, this being my first toppler. No? Then I may pick some books from my physical shelves, which also need to be toppled, badly.

A few rules:
1. Books must be started and finished in this time period to qualify.
2. You may read any format - paperback, hardcover, ebook, or audiobook. For the last two use the page numbers on the first edition that comes up on the GR page.
3. Each book must be at least 175 pages.
4. Toppler books can count toward the monthly challenge, the group theme read, and the yearly challenge if they qualify.
5. You may plan ahead and chose books for the challenge, but you are not restricted to those books. You may swap them out at will.

whew that is good since I mostly own fantasy. I wouldn't be able to play

Would anyone want this task? I don't read horror at all.

I'll be reading Jane and Prudence by Barbara Pym for Round 8 now!!

Gail, my round 4 book was in the pool, so you can delete it there! Still gophering for a nice book...

I had to get a ruling on the book I was thinking of (The Invisible Man) before I could say I would trade. But J-mom has said it qualifies so if you want to trade for any of these:
5 - Rainbow cover
8 - Set in Fall
37 - Set in Snowy Area
6 - Murder Mystery
16 - letter, diary foramt
I'll take the horror book off your hands.
