SIGN-UPS | Bookish Yahtzee Team Challenge - CLOSE 8/18
In the past, on other team challenges, we have been able to start new categories without having to restart our current reads, as long as it was started by the original start date. Our team has been talking about beginning to read for card two since the third day of this challenge and no one has contradicted our plans; it didn’t occur to me that someone would think of waiting to start reading their next book until they could post the review until it was mentioned here yesterday. I messaged Melanie then to clarify, but she has not replied, and it has been over a day. I can’t afford to wait through a holiday weekend and not read, because I have other challenges that I have to keep up with. I have been reading but I won’t post reviews until the last review for the first card has been completed.
I don't remember seeing anything in the rules about needing to complete section 1 prior to starting section 2. I interpreted it as working on both sections at a time. I'm pretty sure that my team saw it the same way. We have been working on section 2 at the same time as one.
Yes. I reread the rules yesterday and it only mentions the timing of the review card (kinda like last challenge where we’d go “hold the reviews” until another mountain was announced) so there’s nothing about the rules being different for this challenge. :)

Correct. You can start and even finish books for round two, but books cannot be posted for round two until the first round is complete.
I apologize for the delay in replying. Couldn't get online until now. :(

We've been talking here about the possible rounds (each time the entire board is completed the team can choose to play again and earn more points), not the sections within the Yahtzee board. The sections in the board don't need to be done in any order. :)

Melanie, thank you for all your hard work and dedication. Please know that I'm thoroughly enjoying this challenge!

Thanks :) I hope things slow down soon.

If you're talking about life, I hope so too for you. If you're talking about our reading pace, the odds aren't in your favor. ;)
Can an anthology of short stories be used for this challenge?Specifically, this anthology.
His Hideous Heart
Keri, I believe it may and it counts as only one book. Hannah, on my team, has used one, and I'm finishing one up right now to use.

Okay! :D
Okay! :D
I'm going to try and get the threads updated by the weekend. Life had been busy yet again. Celebrated my birthday several days ago, which was fun, but since then, things are crazy and I've been too drained to get online and update.
Melanie, would you count this book as a black cover. It makes me think "black," but I know that's subjective.

It's a stretch and i think more blue than black, but if you think black when you see the cover, it works.

Thanks, Melanie. Hannah read a different one that definitely works, so I'll use Ford for another category. Appreciate your time!
Fantastic job, Melanie! You definitely earned some cookies or cake or something sweet to catch up on all those reviews in one evening!!!

I'll take some chocolate chip cookies. LOL ;) Thank you - it was a lot to add up, but it makes me happy that everyone is reading so much. :D

Just another question...Does that mean we can try and finish books by 10/20 at 11:59 PM ET and still have time to post reviews the next day or should all final reviews be posted by 10/20 at 11:59 PM ET

I hadn't even thought of that....but, yes. So long as the book was finished by 11:59PM ET on 10/20, i will let final reviews be posted until 10/21 at 11:00 AM ET. So an extra 11 hours to get online and post the books finished.

About to work on updates. I see there are a lot of reviews! :D Hope I have enough time to get through them all.
Melanie said, “So long as the book was finished by 11:59PM ET on 10/20, i will let final reviews be posted until 10/21 at 11:00 AM ET.” So this challenge is officially over.11:59PM ET/Eastern Time was about 10 minutes ago, so be sure to post reviews for books finished by this time... before 11AM ET tomorrow morning.
Well done, everyone! I’ll miss this challenge!
I’ll miss this challenge! I had so much fun and really pushed myself to finish a lot of stuff that had been lurking in the back corners of my TBR. Also I found some new favorite books and had very few real misses. Thank you so much, Melanie....and this is another challenge I’d love to do again!Anyone else have a list of books they read for this challenge that they’re excited to have gotten to, or which they think everyone else should read?

I'm so glad to hear that, Hannah! That makes it worth all the time to create and moderate these challenges. :) i can totally see us doing this again in the future, but first i have a new idea I'm working on... ;)
Yes, aren't challenges great for pushing us to read books we didn't expect? Love when I find new favorites!

Does that also mean we cannot start reading (without posting reviews) for round 2 before round 1 is finished?
