Anita Reads | 170 commentskathy - Game Misconduct | Bianca 10/28/14 ★★★★

Thank you for picking this one. In the beginning I didn't have much thought for this one. I didn't really like Oriana, but I liked how she developed through the story. I really liked Max and Sloan, but wasn't a big fan of Dominik. Thank's for picking it. I don't think I would have read it in the near future had you not picked it for me.

Anita's pick: Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout - not really my taste, but I needed to read it for a couple of challenges so I was really glad you picked it for me. It gave me just that extra push a I needed to get through it!"

I'm sorry it wasn't completely what you were looking for, but glad you could use it for some challenges in stead.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 731 comments Sunshine, thanks for recommending The Opportunist (Love Me with Lies, #1) by Tarryn Fisher . It was powerfully emotional and I fell through the pages after the halfway point. It was a great book!

i'd actually recommend continuing the Fever series - it is very much like a train blowing by as it picks up really quick...the whole storyline takes place over like a 3 month period (I think)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2657 comments @Aarati: I gave One Dance with a Duke ★★★½ because I didnt enjoy it much. I actually found it a tad slow. I am not keen on book 2, but I will try it sometime.

@Anita: I really loved Soulless ★★★★½. It was different and quirky. Good stuff.

@Beppy: I don't know if I expected Summer Son to be Teacups & Tattoos which i loved, but it didn't hit the spot. It was ★★★½ for me. I liked it but had issues with the MC's judgement considering he had a kid.

@ MountainKat: Hidden Away was a great audiobook ★★★★½. After book 1, I actually thought this series was subpar. This is why I try to read book 2 & 3 before quitting a series. I loved book 2 & now 3!

@~Leslie~: Night Game was really good like ★★★★½. Great H/h. I have the sequel ready for Nov.

@Preethi: Written in Red was the most creative book I've read in a while.I gave it ★★★★½. I will definitely try book 2.

@Ella: you know I thought Moon was going the way of Obsidian and it's unethical issues, but the good doctor did the right thing. I gave it ★★★½.

THANK YOU FOR THE RECOMMENDATIONS

crazy book. I hated the characters soooo much. But I had to give it 4 stars because, seriously, if something inspired that much antagonism for me, that's some effective writing. :)

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Zara--Group 2

I finished your pick, All They Need. I thought this was good but wasn't the best one I've read by this author. The heroine went through some really crappy stuff at the hands of her husband. And the hero was going through some things too, but they seemed to be a balm for each other to help them heal.

I felt like the middle part dragged for me a bit, but the ending was great. I would have liked them to have been moved along a bit more by the epilogue but I can extrapolate the HEA.

Tabs - Show No Mercy was fantastic! Lots of excitement and a strong couple. Loved it and can't wait to read Sam's story.

Katie - Caressed by Ice surprised me. In the first two books I didn't really connect with the couple, but this installment was great! Judd was really cool (no pun intended) and I really liked the way he resolved his issues with the Silence protocol. I'm bumping that series up on my TBR.

Beppy - Starting No Rest for the Wicked next!

message 386: by Susan A (new)

Susan A | 2160 comments Grp 3 14/15

Picked by Larissa Ask and I'll Tell ★★★ I liked parts of the story, but the sex scenes were really porn-like and I didn't like that.

picked by Dee General Misconduct ★★★ I usually enjoy LA Witt books. She writes good stories and great sex scenes. This really isn't an exception. There is nothing wrong with this book -- I just don't like reading about young couples. I'm glad I read this mostly because of the parts with the couple from the first book.

Picked by Joyce Quid Pro Quo and I am the idiot who couldn't manage her TBR correctly, so instead of reading this book 2, I read short stories 2.1 Unlucky Break, 2.2 Friday and 2.3 Pancakes.

Bonus Picks 11/21

picked by Becky One Eyed Jacks ★★★ Interesting, but a bit too short

picked by Beppy The Mark of a Man ★★★★ OMG! Cliffhanger!!! I already have the 2nd book - -this is the kind of cliff hanger that makes readers want to kill authors. Fortunately, I don't have to wait.

Jane PS Better Than Friends ★★★★★ This is just a great series.

Thanks for these picks!

Tab's pick Stranger on the Shore ★★★★★ Loved the mystery. The romance was a little lacking.

Beppy - No Rest for the Wicked was pretty good. I liked that there was more action/adventure in this one. Sebastian was a neat character, but all of these books tend to be "instalove" because of the chosen/mated thing. I still enjoyed it though and will keep up with the series. I have to know what happens with Bowen.

Vi - Cry No More was such an emotionally charged book! I felt so bad for Milla, but loved how she clawed her way back and never gave up her search. It was a great book!

Susan A. - The Outsider was a neat historical western. The Plain Folk were terribly self-righteous, but I could really feel Rachel's struggle with her decision. The romance with Cain built slowly and realistically, leading to an ending that had me on pins and needles.

Melissa - Mortal Danger was exciting and a real page turner for me. I'm enjoying this series more and more. Loved the dragons!

Penney - Started The Darkest Hour and I'm enjoying it so far.

Thanks, Everyone!

Ty | 1943 comments a bit more finished...

Four Seconds to Lose (Ten Tiny Breaths, #3) by K.A. Tucker - not as much of a fan of this as I was for the first two books. in fact, wanted to punch the girl.

Skin (Flesh, #2) by Kylie Scott - I do have some zombie love. soooo much potential here but then it just petered out...

Be with Me (Wait for You, #2) by J. Lynn - nice, short read. nothing too dramatic, but definitely didn't have an emotional impact as the first two in the series.

Outpost (Razorland, #2) by Ann Aguirre - issue here is with the narrator, who's not bad, but definitely could use some variation training. Still, Ann Aguirre knows how to pack a punch. stopped the streak of meh reads lately. can't wait to read the next one.

Play (Stage Dive, #2) by Kylie Scott - fun read, refreshing to read about a dude who's not afraid to explore a relationship instead of running away, denying his feelings. Not sure it ranks a place on the GR Best Romance Nominee list tho....

Thanks, Grace, Jojo, Gea, Leslie, Skandia, and others!
