Question of the Day
QOTD: What is your most treasured book in your collection? What makes it so special to you, if you'd like to share?
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What are your favorite comfort shows?"I have a few that I can watch constantly, but some aren't what you would consider "comfort" shows...they're just ones that I can watch constantly, no matter what. Here are some of them:
•Schitt's Creek
•Gilmore Girls
•Criminal Minds
•Friends
•The Vampire Diaries
•Pretty Little Liars
•Dexter
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your most treasured book in your collection? What makes it so special to you, if you'd like to share?"I have a few but probably my most treasured is my special edition copy of The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. It was a struggle to get my hands on that specific edition and it's my favorite book of all time. The books I treasure most are ones that have sentimental value filled with annotations or special editions that I have collected.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your Zodiac sign? Do you think its traits represent you?"My Zodiac sign is a Cancer and it fits me to a tee.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your Zodiac sign? Do you think its traits represent you?"Virgo. There's only a few traits that represent me:
I'm easily annoyed.
I overthink most things.
I try to be as helpful as I can be.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your Zodiac sign? Do you think its traits represent you?"Leo, but Idk what the traits are.

LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What’s your current reading routine like? When and where do you read?"I am retired and a home body, so I read off and on all day, every day, Where, sitting on the couch and in bed.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What’s your current reading routine like? When and where do you read?"I read when I get the chance / feel like it. The two main places I read are on the couch or in my car on lunch/before I go into work.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What are some of your favorite romantic comedies to watch?"she's all that and 10 things i hate about you are my go-tos. despite my reading taste being very far from romance i actually love to watch romcoms lol
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is one of your unpopular book opinions?"I think that A Little Life is way overrated and I would never recommend it to anyone.

Two Weeks Notice
The Proposal
Best Friend's Wedding

Theres alot more lol
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is one of your unpopular book opinions?"same as krystyna pretty much except mine feelings are a bit stronger lol. i hated a little life so much. one of the worst books i've ever read. i also agree that i wouldn't recommend it. not just because i personally hated it but people recommending that book broadly is so weird to me. it's not something everyone should pick up...
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is one of your unpopular book opinions?"I don't understand why Colleen Hoover is SO hyped. I just think if you enjoy her books you could easily pick up books that are more diverse with the same kind of slice-of-life, romance stories.
(I also agree with Silas and Krystyna about A Little Life).
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is one of your unpopular book opinions?"I agree with Vivian on this one.
I also didn't get the hype about ACOTAR, it just seemed incredibly cliche and not well written to me. The characters fell very flat.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Share one way that you're changing up your reading this year."i'm planning on reading more nonfiction this year
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Share one way that you're changing up your reading this year."I'll share a few. :)
I tried a new way of tracking my reading with a bullet journal, I'm trying to stick with genres that I love and read books that I'm really excited for, I'm also trying to embrace the practice of DNF'ing books more than I normally do. I don't want to spend time reading a book that I'm not enjoying. I'm also wanting to review the books that I read, and share books and thoughts on my social media outlets more consistently. I've also realized that I default to reading on my Kindle way more so I'm embracing that this year as well.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Share one way that you're changing up your reading this year."I plan on doing fewer challenges.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Share one way that you're changing up your reading this year."I'm planning on reading from my own shelves. I have a system going on right now that should help me do so.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Share a book that you read last year that you think deserves more hype."night of the living rez by morgan talty
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your favorite book written by a Black author?"giovannis room by james baldwin is easily in my top 5 books of all time
Gosh, this is tough. I don't have just one.1. Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin
2. How Beautiful We Were by Imbolo Mbue
3. The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi
QOTD: When reading do you visualize everything in your head like a movie is playing or do you just comprehend the story that you're reading?
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your favorite book written by a Black author?"I really enjoyed From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home and Clap When You Land.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: When reading do you visualize everything in your head like a movie is playing or do you just comprehend the story that you're reading?"i can't visualize things in my head at all lol
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: When reading do you visualize everything in your head like a movie is playing or do you just comprehend the story that you're reading?"I visualize everything in my head.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: When reading do you visualize everything in your head like a movie is playing or do you just comprehend the story that you're reading?"Visualize.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: When reading do you visualize everything in your head like a movie is playing or do you just comprehend the story that you're reading?"I struggle to visualize, but there are times that I can. Most of the time the main goal is to just hope I'm comprehending what I'm reading.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: When reading do you visualize everything in your head like a movie is playing or do you just comprehend the story that you're reading?"This is how I tell if I like the story or not, if I can visualize the story playing out in my head like a movie, I love it. If i'm just comprehending what I'm reading then I know i'm not interested in it and I dnf it.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What book or series got you into reading and/or back into reading?"When I first started as a kid it was the Magic Tree House books. Getting back into reading as a teen I can't remember if it was the Anne of Green Gables series or The Selection series.
I remember being thrilled with Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. Later it was a genre that got me into reading more. Science fiction.
Probably Junie B. Jones! I used to read them all the time as a kid. Although I wasn’t an avid reader until adulthood, I’ve always loved having books around.
