LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Do you buy special editions and/or multiple copies of your favorite books?"No multiple copies, I do try and buy special editions if it's a classic I really like. I have special edition's of Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, War and Peace, Les Miserables, and Jane Eyre
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What’s that one book you just refuse to read despite its high praise?"The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes
(Among many others!)
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What’s that one book you just refuse to read despite its high praise?"A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. I forced myself through 20% of this book before giving up. I can't understand why everyone loves it.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: This weekend is supposed to be beautiful. Do you have any fun plans?"Chores and books! Might expose myself to a bit of sunshine if I can scrape the time together
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: If you like podcasts, what are some of your favorites?"A list of podcasts I really enjoy:
1. All the Books!
2. Criminal
3. My Favorite Murder
4. Morbid
5. Killer Instinct
6. Casefile
7. What Should I Read Next?
8. Books in the Freezer
9. Crime Junkie
10. Lore
11. Kalyn's Coffee Talk
12. Sorry! We're Booked
13. Serial
14. No Thanks We're Booked (not active anymore)
15. Catch Us Inside
16. Get Booked
17. Reading Glasses
18. The Last Podcast on the Left
19. The Bookstore
20. Talk Bookish to Me
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: This weekend is supposed to be beautiful. Do you have any fun plans?"I don't have any set plans but I definitely want to spend some time reading outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. I will also probably go on a motorcycle ride and spend some time with family.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Do you buy special editions and/or multiple copies of your favorite books?"I don't typically buy special editions, but I will buy multiple copies of my favorite book. I try to get one that's signed, if possible, and another one to actually read.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What’s that one book you just refuse to read despite its high praise?"I can't pick just one.
Anything by James Patterson.
I probably won't read anymore books by Riley Sager or Seanan Mcguire. All pretty popular authors.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What book(s) have you recently removed from your TBR? Why?"Gerald's Game by Stephen King
Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding
The Long Walk by Stephen King
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
+more but I can't remember
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What book(s) have you recently removed from your TBR? Why?"I don't actually have a TBR. I have a list of bokos/author I'd like to try when I get to them but it's of no real priority.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your favorite romance trope?"I like a classic cinderella story, introvert and extrovert pairing.
QOTD: How many books do you have left on your TBR? Are you trying to finish anything before the end of the month?
I still have yet to finish Billy Summers. I don't know why it's taking me so long. I only have like 200 pages left.
If I don't have any interest in reading them anymore, I'll take them to Half Price or McKays. If they're ARCS, then I'll either trade them or put them in a Little Free Library.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What do you do with unread books that have set on your shelf for years?"Sometimes, I hang onto them, thinking I will eventually get to them. Other times, I donate to the library or give away to anyone who will take them.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: How many books do you have left on your TBR? Are you trying to finish anything before the end of the month?"I am trying to finish 3 books this month:
- Independence Day: Silent Zone by Stephen Molstad
- Connecticut Bootlegger Queen Nellie Green by Tony Renzoni
- Let Me Tell You About a Man I Knew by Susan Fletcher
... It is not looking good.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What do you do with unread books that have set on your shelf for years?"It's hard for me to let go of books, but if they just don't interest me anymore I'll donate them.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Do you have any fun plans for the weekend other than reading?"I have to work this weekend. Does that count as fun lol?
I work, and have an anniversary cook out to attend after. Not much time- if any- for reading though!
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: How many books do you have on your May TBR?"I have 6 books on my TBR. Plus 2 more that are on my, maybe, TBR.
I'm just trying to finish Billy Summers by Stephen King. I want to pick up Dave Grohl's book at some point.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: How many books do you have on your May TBR?"I want to finish, and I'm sure I will, Sisters of the Great War, maybe finish Cold Mountain
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Are there any May book releases you're excited for?"Yes! The Book Woman's Daughter by Kim Michele Richardson
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What was the best book you read last month?"The Stranger in the Lifeboat by Mitch Albom
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Are there any May book releases you're excited for?"There are a few books that I'm excited for that release in May.
1. Book of Night by Holly Black
2. Book Lovers by Emily Henry
3. The Hacienda by Isabel Canas
4. Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak
5. You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi
6. Siren Queen by Nghi Vo
7. Misrule by Heather Walter
8. Seasonal Fears by Seanan McGuire
9. Dead End Girls by Wendy Heard
10. Out of the Corner by Jennifer Grey
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What was the best book you read last month?"I didn't finish any books last month.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What was the best book you read last month?"By FAR it was The Sisters of Glass Ferry
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What's your favorite board game? Why?"I love trivial pursuit, nothing will tear my family apart faster than when we split into teams and one is losing terribly lol
I'm lame, but I really enjoy playing scrabble. I'm not great at it though. It's just fun challenging my brain a little bit, and seeing what kind of words other people come up with. It's not as fun with only two people, but I still love playing it regardless.
Monopoly! I grew up playing this game with my family and best friends. The game brings back many fond memories, I guess that's why it's still my favorite board game!
QOTD: In honor of Mother's Day, what book features your favorite mother-child relationship? And/or what tv show/movie?
I can't think of any in books.I always loved the mother/daughter relationship in The Princess Diaries.
