I have a copy of Project Hail Mary checked out. I'm excited to read it and I love the cover. I'm going to do my best attempt at Sci-Fi September. I don't read much sci-fi, so we shall see how this month goes.

Maybe! I wasn't aware that was a thing either. I think the only Sci-Fi's I've read are the Star Wars movie novelizations. Though I have a few Timothy Zahn and Branden Sanderson's on my TBR.

- Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune
- So Many Beginnings: A Little Women Remix by Bethany C. Morrow
- Constance by Matthew FitzSimmons

Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr
Those are the only two I'm aware of.
421. What was the last book you read out of your comfort zone that you ended up really enjoying?

Many people are participating in sci-fi September within the online book community. I don't read sci-fi very much because the genre seems a bit intimidating to me. However, I saw a friend's rave review about A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers and decided to give it a try. It's a short novella, a total of 147 pages. I thought it would be a great opportunity to participate in sci-fi September and slowly wade into the science fiction genre. I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. I ended up really loving this book. The only "complaint" that I had was that there wasn't much of a plot, but it's also a novella. What made me fall in love with this book was the writing and the characters. I'm excited to continue on with this series and other work from this author.

Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg, a children's book. I never read children's books, but this was the book the movie was based on so I was curious. It turned out to be quite good.

Surprisingly The Maiden's and The Silent Patient. I've not read any adult mystery genre because I never found a title that caught my eye and wasn't a bad Sherlock Holmes remake. (Tried a Tom Clancy once, not a mistake i'll make again.) But both these stories were so awesome, I added The Maidens to my book collection at home and i've been keeping an eye out for more mystery genre's I might enjoy.

If you enjoyed those I could offer up some more thriller recommendations. The Tom Clancy you mentioned is more of a mystery genre. The Maiden and The Silent Patient are more of a thriller. I don't read many mysteries, but thrillers are my jam!

422. How did you get into reading? Was there a specific book or series that got you into reading?

I don't remember specifically. I always enjoyed reading in elementary school and the school librarian at Hunter Hills would help me pick out books I might like, she got me started on The Magic Treehouse series by Mary Pope Osbourn and those were my first chapter books I loved, I read in school mainly to avoid socializing lol but it became an addiction soon enough.

I follow a few literature accounts on instagram but that's it, just not something that interests me much.

Yeah I'd love that!

I read quite a bit of A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. I'm almost 400 pages in.

Good weekend! Finished one audiobook, started another, and I have a handful of pages left in one book I can finish probably in an hour.

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts when you finish it.

I finished The Greatest Game Ever Played in audiobook format, finished The Play's The Thing by Jessica Barksdale Inclan, and started An Offer From A Gentleman by Julia Quinn in audiobook format on libby.

Amazon, sometimes i'll go through third party sellers on there if it's a better deal.

If I love it and think it's something i'll reread. I rent it out from the library first and then ill decide whether or not its something i want to add to my collection

I'm right on track! considering I started back in July I think I'm doing fairly well.
429. What is everyone's Goodreads goal set to this year? Are you keeping it set to that number or are you going to change it?
