Lol when you're in Texas it's all just north if you're not in Texas. My dad who lives in Houston used to tease me that I was a Yankee when I lived in Dallas.

My dad who lives in Houston used to tease me that I was a Yankee when I lived in Dallas."LOL - When I worked in MD for awhile that's what they called those of us from CT that were helping to transition the company from CT to MD. Felt like they thought we were still fighting the Civil War!
Ha! My husband is from Louisiana and he spent about a year in MD and he couldn't stand that people there consider themselves southern. "That is not south!", he gripes, hahaha. On another note, apparently, their "cajun" food is an abomination and doesn't actually exist south of MD. He is too funny about that stuff.
That's like Mexican food, I've never eaten it outside of Texas and it taste the same lol. What part of Louisiana is your hubby from? Cajun food is the best! We don't get to eat it often but we love it. Fried gator is the bomb lol.
He's from Slidell, in the New Orleans area.I like fried gator, too! Or at least, I used to. I haven't had it in years...not sure if I'd still like it.
