I finished off the year with:
Legacy, the eighth Keeper of the Lost Cities book from Shannon Messenger. This is a fantastic middle grade fantasy series.

Biography: Mary Ball Washington: The Untold Story of George Washington's Mother by Craig Shirleyand
Classic: The Nonexistent Knight by Italo Calvino
Finished two non-cozies the past week, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. Both good reads, but especially loved the latter.
My current non-cozy reads are:
Fly Paper and Other Stories: Collected Case Files of the Continental Op: The Later Years, Volume 3 by Dashiell Hammett
The Case of the Velvet Claws by Erle Stanley Gardner
My review for
The Daughter of Victory Lights by Kerri Turnerhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm currently reading the 8th book in the Maeve Kerrigan series by Jane Casey called Cruel Acts. It's very good so far.
Spent most of the week in Camelot, via Mark Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. A fun romp through King Arthur’s domain. Some of the anachronisms were pretty funny. Of course now I’m wanting to watch the Bing Crosby movie, as well as “ Camelot.”
Got two non-cozies this week:
The Silent Second by Adam Walker Phillips https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
"P" is for Peril by Sue Grafton https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review for
When We Danced at the End of the Pier by Sandy Taylorhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of
Blood Rose Angel: A Medieval Black Plague Novel by Liza Perrathttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I love Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City books. They are full of mystery, romance, humor, and surprises. I'm always humbled and honored when people compare my books to his.
I went back and enjoyed a middle grade mystery over the weekend.
The Downtown Desperadoes by Sigmund Brouwer https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...This series is fantastic for all ages with some intricantly plotted mysteries. If you have a child or grandchild, I highly recommend this series. Or for you if you want to read a great mystery.
My current non-cozy reads:
Out of Practice Aphrodite by S.E. Babin
A Crown of Swords by Robert Jordan
My review for
Cleaning the Gold by Karin Slaughter & Lee Childhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just started "The Guest Book." Read The Postmistress by theis author several years ago and loved it.
Donna wrote: "My non-cozy read is: Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Very good so far."One of my favorites.
