I liked that one a lot more than I thought I would! It could end up being one of my favorite reads of 2019.

Gary Sundell | 2274 comments Now reading John Jay Founding Father by Walter Stahr John Jay: Founding Father by Walter Stahr. Jay is an overlooked Founder. I am related to him. He was among other things co-author of The Federalist and first Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court.

Jane Just finished The Gown, by Jennifer Robson, about some of the women in Norman Hartnell's embroidery workshop. Not exactly a mystery, other than a granddaughter wanting to find out about her grandmother's life before emigrating to Canada.

My auntie has literally just bought me 84 Charring Cross Road as a gift because I live in London and have been saying for ages that I'm going to read it. I am looking forward to starting it. I love anything based on letters so I think I'm in for a treat.

Cindy (cindypp) | 168 comments Reading some uplifting nonfiction for a change. Most of my nonfiction is historical or sociological/psychological so this is a nice change of pace. I agree. I really enjoyed the story because it was a bit different and the background was loosely based on actual facts. Love that! Now I'm reading an ARC of Tell the Machine Goodnight.

About to start The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. This book was at top of my wish list for the weekend’s library used book sale. I was there when the doors opened, went directly to the “S” shelves, and snagged the only copy they had—in like-new condition. Score! Makes you think I’m meant to read this book, doesn’t it? Plus it fits a couple challenges.
