When You're Not Reading a Cozy
About halfway through
The Main Death and This King Business: Collected Case Files of the Continental Op: The Later Years, Volume 2 by Dashiell Hammett. One more book after this to finish all of the Continental Op short stories.
Now reading
John Jay: Founding Father by Walter Stahr. Jay is an overlooked Founder. I am related to him. He was among other things co-author of The Federalist and first Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court.
Just finished The Gown, by Jennifer Robson, about some of the women in Norman Hartnell's embroidery workshop. Not exactly a mystery, other than a granddaughter wanting to find out about her grandmother's life before emigrating to Canada.

I am looking forward to starting it. I love anything based on letters so I think I'm in for a treat.

I agree. I really enjoyed the story because it was a bit different and the background was loosely based on actual facts. Love that! Now I'm reading an ARC of Tell the Machine Goodnight.
About to start The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. This book was at top of my wish list for the weekend’s library used book sale. I was there when the doors opened, went directly to the “S” shelves, and snagged the only copy they had—in like-new condition. Score! Makes you think I’m meant to read this book, doesn’t it? Plus it fits a couple challenges.
