Review: this book is a lot of first's for me: first by this author, first alien mm book, first mpreg book. Devin and Bastien were seriously cute together. Lonely orphaned, left alone Devin and big, furry, horned Bastien. Total opposites that somehow work. The alien sex along with the aggressive DNA sperm was an interesting twist - actually really kind of funny. I got a good laugh out of seeing a man's reaction to being pregnant. Lots of politics in this one that didn't really make sense. I'll be continuing this series - I want to know what happens to Devin's friend Peri - there's a story there I can tell.

I'm about 45% done with my read."
Hope you're enjoying it - the blurb sounds like it would be good.

Completed: 9/8/14
Rated: 4 stars.
It was a pretty good book especially seeing as I went in with really low expectations. It was just as the cover said it would be, a funny mystery. Not to mention the added in bonus of an attractive security guard from his own private agency. Overall I give it four stars and I cant wait to continue the series!

This is a book I have been waffling about for a while. I have heard so many good things about it; however I haven’t had the best of luck with time travel books. It wasn’t until I started watching the series that I decided to read the book. I absolutely loved this book. I found it hard not to compare the series with the book, and found myself being critical with the series. Even though the series changed a few things so far, it seems to be staying relatively true to the book. I loved the development of Jamie and Claire’s relationship, going from friendship and lust to falling in love. From the moment Claire was pushed back in time, she had a huge learning curve to overcome. I liked watching Claire’s character grow and having to realize that 200 years makes a big difference on how women are treated and are expected to act in addition to superstitions and the education level of most people was nonexistent. There were a few times I wanted to knock Claire upside her head and tell her to stop running away from Jamie. I loved it when Jamie took her back to Crag na Duhn so she could go back to her own time, and she chose Jamie over Frank. It is clear throughout the story that Claire loves Frank, it just isn’t all consuming willing to die to save you love that she has with Jamie. I think when they are at an abbey for Jamie to recover; it helped Claire to talk with one of the fathers who helped her see her situation from a nonbiased point of view and helped her with her guilt in regards to Frank.

Wow - nice job finishing this one so quickly :) Those doorstopper books tend to take me more than a week to finish. Then again I usually have more than one going.

I was lucky to have nothing I had to do over the weekend and was able to have more time reading than I usually do.

Are you watching the show on Starz?
Starz gave me my beloved Spartacus and now they have Claire and Jamie.

Two Stars
I was drawn to this book because of the cover and the fact that I loved one of the author's other series but sadly this book didn't work for me. I am changing up my review a little this time around to talk about what didn't work for me with this one. I loved the setting of this book and loved that the main character Jessamin was more than the average girl and wanted to learn and become more but that was all I cared for about her. On to what didn't work for me.
I didn't care for the fact that Jessamin was so cool with talking to birds. I thought it was really weird and even though I found out why later it was still kinda creepy.
I didn't like the way the letters Jessamin would write were filled with all the half truths and things she felt she couldn't tell her mom. I felt like she could have had a better relationship with her.
When Jessamin meets Finn she just accepts him at face value and doesn't really question him much at all and that grated on my nerves. She was so willing to follow along with him just because of what he told her. She had no clue if it was really true.
Once the action really picks up in this one it drags along and I lost interest with it and was struggling to force myself to finish it because I was hoping it would get better.
I hated that I didn't like this one because I had high hopes for it and wanted to love it. The characters didn't work for me though so I wasn't invested in it. I was hoping the character of Jessamin would have been stronger and a great heroine but she fell flat for me and I was disappointed. I won't completly write this one off though for those that may want to read it because the book had a lot of promise and what didn't work for me might work for others. I would still suggest you read it for yourself to decide because you may love it.

I don't know if I will up to roll for my team :D"
Someone else usually rolls for us - good thing as my kids have given me a cold and I've been asleep between 8:30 - 9 pm. I haven't been able to read a lot of Dreams of a Dark Warrior

Exactly - that's why sometimes it's hard to wait. You don't want to start anything and then find out it would work......

Roll 2, Spot 15
Book:

Date Read: 9/7/14
Rating: 3 Stars
Theme: Stand-alone
Review:
The premise sounded really interesting to me when I first read it. The heroine, Annie goes looking for her husband and she finds him in Wyoming but he has no recollection of her. Chase does not remember Annie but some of the things she tells him are true. While Chase tries to figure out her story and get her out of his cabin, Annie is willing to do anything to stay with Chase. The premise was while started out interesting, it fell short of my expectation. Annie really should be a strong character with what she has been through but she acted too meek with Chase at times and didn't tell him all the hardship she had to face. I would have preferred to see more romance because in the middle of the book, there really wasn't much happening. All the good stuff seemed to be in the beginning and end. I think Annie should have Chase grovel a little bit more in the end or make him a bit more jealous with Starhawk. I think I just had a different vision/story in mind before I started this book, it wasn't bad, it was a typical romance book, but it had the potential to be better than a 3 stars.

Steph roll us a good one. I will link up the rest of the reviews in the morning and post our spot.

Finished: September 11th

Review:
I would've finished this sooner, but I wasn't feeling well earlier today. Anyways, I ended up really liking this book! It was nice light mystery read! I'm curious to see what the next mystery is about!
(Is my review good or do I need more to it? Let me know and I will edit it in the morning because right now I just want to head to bed. Again, I'm sorry for being the last one again this week to post my review.)

Doesn't matter :) as long as you get it done in time it doesn't matter lol
