Fantastic romance. If a romance book doesn't make me roll my eyes for being overly cheesy and flip through "the hotter scenes" because I'm just not interested, then it's a really good story. It also means that I like the characters. Kylie Scott does an excellent job to give her alpha male heroes some depth and a heart of gold besides them being just very nice to look at.
The other thing that she already did very well with her previous rock star series "Stage Dive" which, btw, I also loved, was a genuine friendships between her cast of characters. I enjoy reading stories with strong friendship ties.

Book: Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch
Read: April 20th
Rating: 3stars
Review: Such a odd book. Sooo over the top but I liked it.

Touched by an Alien is one of the books that I have wanted to read for a long time. Now that I have I am saddened I didn't love it, and that it wasn't a 5 star. But that being said I did like it and I like Kitty. The AC's can be really extreme Jeff and Chris are prime example. We have aliens and religion, big bugs and body hoping parasites. Over the top fight scenes, over the top characters and events, really really good looking "people".

If you can not suspend your thoughts on reality for a fraction then don't read this book, you'll not like it but if you like it's the so wacky it can't be real (but who knows) then dive in.

Yes book 2 will be in my future.

Review: Another great installment, though I did miss out on the people back home. Thank goodness for phone calls from Darryl. Mercy and Adam's honeymoon didn't go exactly as expected. As usual, there were behind the scenes shenanigans to get them into place to take care of someone else's problems. And they did, meeting a host of Native people and spirits along the way.

Monster Hunter International (Monster Hunter International, #1) by Larry Correia

4 stars 4/19/19

I've had this on my radar forever and finally got around to it and wished I hadn't waited. I really enjoyed this although I thought a good 100 pages could have been trimmed. Not that this was billed as a romance but I didn't really feel the connection between Julie and Owen all that much. Kind of like the male author felt he had to add a dash of romance in the book to appeal to women. I will definitely read more the series. I also wish it hadn't been in 1st person so we could get perspective from more than just Owen and the bad guy through Owen's dreams.

I haven't even started my alpha-male book yet and I have a library audio to finish before it gets repossessed. But my alpha-male book should be an easy read.

I had a cold and then with Easter Sunday, I read next to nothing this weekend.

Review: Wow....wow....wow.

I
Freakin'
Loved
This
Book!

So much is going on. Feyre has turned out to be such a kick ass character and I love it. So many good moments in this book. So many passages that sang to my heart, not only has Sarah J Mass wrote a wonderfully amazing story and characters, her writing it's self it beautiful. Forever a fan now. I will have to go buy all of her books, she is now an auto buy author for me.

Rhysand...oh Rhysand...the many masks, worn well and played well but your truth is oh so beautiful.😍😍😍🖤💜💫

I love these characters.
I hated others.

When a writer can get under your skin, seep into your soul, make you feel all the emotions. Make you feel as if you were there going through it all yourself. That is a good author. A good story, one that will be loved over and over again...by me and I know countless others.

I'm sorry I'm all over the place with this "review" but that's what happens when I feel so strongly about what I have just read. So much is going on in this world and I'm squeeing on the inside as I type this because I absolutely loved this book.

Fyi though....soooo not "teen" read. I think this series should be placed in the adult fantasy section rather then the YA one. Cause boy are there many many steamy scenes in this book. 💥💦💞

This was ok. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. She doesn't want him, he repulses her, no wait she wants him, then no she doesn't want him until he kisses her yet again and then ok she does want him until they almost consummate but no don't want him at the last minute after all. But of course she's planning to betray him all along anyway. Which you find out early so of course then it's like, ok how long will this drag on until she betrays him but he ultimately forgives her? I might have liked it better had I not known she was going to, at some point, betray him badly.

Review: There's a similarity to the books in this series. I wouldn't want to read too many in a row. That being said, the paranormal mystery is usually an interesting one. The romance is kept down to a dull roar and although insta-love, doesn't bother me as much as it could. The ghosts are generally the most interesting characters in the mix, though the conspiracy in this 9th book was further reaching than I thought. All in all, a good book.

I have mixed feelings about this book. Very interesting unique story about finding pieces of ancient alien artifacts but so much politics mixed in is not my cup of tea and I didn't get into authors writing style at all. Maybe it was the format of interviews and diary entries that made it difficult. Don't know. I will continue with series because I want to know what will happen.

Who do you call when you are sixteen and in desperate need for help to make your horrible crime go away. Not ghostbusters for sure. You call for Bargainer and you will pay later.
This is how a young siren Callypso meets with the most wicked man of them all, the infamous Bargainer. Seven years later he is back to collect the debt.
Laura Thalassa is fast becoming my favorite PNR author. There is something in her books, the romance part, the paranormal part, all of it that just clicks for me. I admit, the romance part can be a little angsty and cheesy at times but I don't mind. Mostly it's just beautiful.
The best part of this series is set in Fae world and I'm all about Fae these days. Don't know what has happened to me. I might even pick up Fever series again.

Review: My first instinct was that I really liked this book. A day later, I can't really say why. It was good, but am I giving it more credit because I wanted to like it? Not really sure. The writing was good, but was it great? The characters were good but were they great? The story was good but was it great? The setting was awesome, no question there, New York's Museum of Natural History? Yes please. I think I just need to move on, read the next book and re-evaluate, because honestly it's a book, it entertained me which is all I really want in a book and I think I'm getting a headache thinking about it too much.

These are a guilty pleasure for me. They are very formulaic but entertaining and they make great audio books. I was a little disappointed that she didn't go into the voodoo aspect more. I have to admit that with this one, I hadn't figured out who the bad guy(s) were like I usually do.

The update was done before last week's shelf call and Team 15 also needed Series and Paranormal Erotica for a Bingo.

Team 2 needed shifters and paranormal erotica. If shifters gets called before Paranormal Erotica, we would also be racing them.

Or course it may never be called. But if we want a chance a winning, we should be prepared. I plan to speed read my psychic abilities book tonight. I've put a good dent in it but I kept putting it aside for others.

I like Shadowhunters world. I think it's one of the best fantasy worlds YA authors have created. This fifth in series book unfortunately was the weakest so far for me. I can't exactly pinpoint what annoyed me. Clary and Jace of course with their super cheesy love declarations, but this is YA, so it 's normal.
Other than this , I just didn't connect with events in this book.

I love this series but this one was just meh for me. Nothing much really happens. Lots of just talking about where Peter might be, why he is on whatever journey he is on, blah blah blah. Also it was pretty obvious what would happen to him because this is a murder mystery series, and she's killed of regular characters before. He was either going to have killed someone or be killed. Well I suppose another option would have been that they would find him being wrongfully accused of murder somewhere but it was clear that wasn't going to be the case when the book was halfway through and they hadn't found him yet.
