If you can show a tag for humor or its on a list for humor or satire.
What book or books are you looking to use?

Next year, I will add comedy to it.

I’ve just returned from vacation with my family and I will go through the threads to catch up on stamps as well as put out fires like missing players.

I wanted to say that some people are changing books without letting captains know. The purpose of posting a selection post is so your captain and/or I can let you know if your book didn’t qualify. It sucks to read a book only to find out it didn’t meet the requirements of the shelf.
It’s okay to DNF or change your mind, just let us know what’s going on.
So please work with us. Thanks

message 157: by Shan ~A~ (new)

Shan ~A~ | 1238 comments Sorry for the inconvenience. I didn’t post a new selection post due to the fact so barely have access to a computer right now since the fan on mine needs to be replaced or I may just have to buy a new one.

I was reading that book anyway so it wasn’t a big deal. I honestly wasn’t sure if my other book would work either.

I will check when I’m on a better device to see if my book worked.

It is fine. It is tagged as “humour” which is the British spelling but it’s still humor!

Hi Linda,
On the thread dealing with shelves, i mentioned ANY year is fine. Also, we are free to read ANY nominated book. We don’t to limit to Winners. Hopefully that gives an array of options.
Thanks

Alejandro (huqhuhu) | 124 comments Hello @Ezi. Im fr team 10 more minutes. Have quick question.
The book "The Memoirs of Sherlock " by A.C. Doyle...... is that ok for current shelf being called? I have seen series episodes on tv and netflix. Not certain that series was derived fr this book or other books by this author.
Main issue I am uncertain about is that I havent been able to find it in a Listopia, Popular, or Best book list......... in which it appears as "book to tv/movie".
I guess this is your call or one of the other mods.
Thank you .

If you look on IMDb, you will see there was a TV series based on the book, so YES, your book is definitely acceptable.
For your own reference, here is the link to the tv series info: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0108855/

LaurLa | 3938 comments What about series books in general where a movie/TV show was adapted from the series concept and/or the first book - could we use any book from that series? I'm thinking like:

The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich where technically the only movie is from the first book, but would we be able to use any book from the series?

The Temperance Brennan series where the whole TV show concept is based on the series but none if it really follow the series books themselves.

Celia Buell (semi hiatus) (celiareadsbooks) Does a shelf have to have that exact tag, or if it has a tag with that word, is that okay? For instance, if I were reading for the thriller category, and a book was tagged as "historical thriller" but not downright "thriller," can I still use it?

Okay. There's just a few books I've found that with. But I will try to look for ones that just fit those tags.

Celia Buell (semi hiatus) (celiareadsbooks) For the movie category, can I read a book that was based off a movie? I'm thinking of As Old As Time, which is part of the Disney series Twisted Tales, so the books are directly based off the Disney movies they represent, although the stories usually take a darker turn.
