oshizu | 5762 comments Yay, Kelly! Another mystery!

Wow, Kiwi Begs2Differ, you are still going strong!

Grats on completing the challenge, chan!
And yes, finishing a book that you started the month before totally counts. Erm, I might have done that with my first two books for January 2019. *coughs

Carmen | 8125 comments Message #27 updated

PROGRESS: 29/25
Masked Ball at Broxley Manor (Her Royal Spyness Mysteries, #0.5) by Rhys Bowen Her Royal Spyness (Her Royal Spyness Mysteries, #1) by Rhys Bowen The Turn of the Screw by Henry James The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton The Thirty-Nine Steps by John Buchan Peril at End House by Agatha Christie The Big Four by Agatha Christie Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn Unos asesinatos muy reales (Aurora Teagarden, #1) by Charlaine Harris The Great Train Robbery by Michael Crichton
El misterio del cuarto amarillo by Gaston Leroux The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle The Sign of Four (Wisehouse Classics Edition - with original illustrations by Richard Gutschmidt) by Arthur Conan Doyle Three Act Tragedy by Agatha Christie Four to Score (Stephanie Plum, #4) by Janet Evanovich High Five (Stephanie Plum, #5) by Janet Evanovich Hot Six (Stephanie Plum, #6) by Janet Evanovich Los chicos que cayeron en la trampa by Jussi Adler-Olsen Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
Devil in a Blue Dress (Easy Rawlins, #1) by Walter Mosley The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce, #1) by Alan Bradley The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, #01) by Alexander McCall Smith The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle Dark Skies (DCI Ryan Mysteries #7) by L.J. Ross Seven Bridges (DCI Ryan Mysteries, #8) by L.J. Ross The Hermitage (DCI Ryan Mysteries, #9) by L.J. Ross Longstone (DCI Ryan Mysteries, #10) by L.J. Ross The Infirmary (DCI Ryan Mysteries #11) by L.J. Ross

Wow, I've outdone myself with this challenge, have I already told you that I have a weakness for mysteries?
With few exceptions (sorry, but "Her Royal Spyness" and "Aurora Teagarden" series are not my cup of tea), it has been a great challenge, where I find it difficult to choose a favorite, maybe Gone Girl, The Forgotten Garden and Big Little Lies as standalone books and among the series, my favorite ones are still DCI Ryan Mysteries by L.J. Ross, although I also love Stephanie Plum's books by Janet Evanovich and Department Q's books by Jussi Adler-Olsen, but I can not forget the classics, Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle never disappoint me, and The Westing Game is just wonderful.

THANKS!!!

4/4 completed.
Last two were Nancy Drew #1 and #2! Nancy Drew made me fall in love with reading when I was a kid so I decided to re-read a couple for this challenge!

I finally got around to reading The Moonstone. Generally considered the first detective novel, it was a great read.

Thanks for hosting the challenge!

oshizu | 5762 comments A great job on finishing up in the last two days to Sarah, Charity, Carmen (wow, 29 books!!??), Kelly, TerryJane, and Margie!

@Kiwi Begs2Differ
Thank you for your kind words! It's people like you that make this such a great group!

@Margie
Great idea to read The Moonstone. And...what's your verdict? Is it a book every mystery lover should read? :D

Whether you completed the challenge or not, I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy this Mysterious March Challenge.
A warm thank you to everyone who participated!

Thank you, Kristin!
And may I confess that I experienced a moment of confusion when I looked at the MYSTERY & THRILLER banner up top and wondered why our group chose this after Mysterious March ended.
LOL, it's Goodreads monthly banner. I never even noticed they changed it from time to time!

@Megan
I like the diversity of mystery reads you chose! (I'm also a huge fan of historical mysteries...haha, almost typed hysterical mysteries, nope!)
How did you like The Boy in the Suitcase? Oooh, I could have read that for PopSugar prompt #21 (two female authors)!

Full disclosure, I completely chose to read The Boy in the Suitcase so I could also fulfill that very same Popsugar prompt. And I liked it better than I thought. Very fast paced and not nearly as dark as I was dreading, considering the subject matter.

@Megan
Thank you for your thoughts on The Boy in the Suitcase!
The book's title had me worried that the book might be too gory for my taste. With your reassurances, I will keep the book in mind for future multiple-author or Scandinavian prompts.
If I remember correctly, Mie also gave this book her stamp of approval.
