I was just your normal twenty-something with seven associate degrees and no idea what I wanted to do with my life. That is, until I died Well, almost.

As if a near-death experience at the hands of an old coffeemaker wasnt embarrassing enough, I woke up to find I could talk to animals. Or rather one animal in particular.

His full name is Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund

This was a Kindle find. Not too bad, but too short to be a novel. More of a novella. I was not super-impressed with this book. The humor is funny in parts, but the ending came too fast and too simply. I found Octo-cat to be more annoying than cute and his human, Angie, to be a little too quirky. I did like the idea of Angie having no less than seven associate degrees from the local community college. It will come to play in future series, I'm sure. I don't think I will follow the series, though, ...more

"Kitty Confidential (Pet Whisperer P.I. #1)" is one of those books that get selected during a roadtrip where not everyone enjoys lesfic, and not everyone wants a focus on hetero romance or sex.

All-in-all this was a pretty cute book. MC Angie Russo is sort of drifting through life, gathering college degrees (she has 7) because she likes learning, but not really applying any of her education toward any career.

Working as a paralegal, she's nearly electrocuted by a coffee maker, and awakens to learn

This is a cute short cozy mystery. I love the cat character, and that cat name is so much. I do feel like their could be a little more to the mystery, but overall I really liked the story and loved the main characters.

I love the premise for this book, so I bought it on release day and didn't wait long to start reading it. Kitty Confidential is a fun quick cozy mystery read about Angie who after a near death experience has the ability to talk with animals. The cat from a women who recently died tells her his owner was murdered and she decides to help him.

I had fun reading this book. I liked the premise of the main character who solves mysteries alongside the animals she encounters and her relationship and

I was pleasantly surprised by this short little cozy. It was quite different without the small town feel or the length of a normal cozy, but I fell in love with the relationship between the protagonist and the cat along with their ability to talk to one another. I will definitely continue this series 😀👏📖📚 ...more

Kitty Confidential by Molly Fitz is the first Pet Whisperer PI Mystery. Angie Russo is a paralegal (who dislikes lawyers) at Fulton, Thompson, and Associates in Blueberry Bay. She rushes into the office (late) and is asked to make coffee for an important will reading. Angie plugs in the ancient coffee maker and receives an electric shock that knocks her unconscious. When she wakes up there is a cat on her chest whom it talking to her and Angie can understand the uppity feline. His name is ...more

I love cozy mysteries, they are fun and fast reads!

After an accident with an old coffeemaker, Angie finds herself talking to a wealthy, spoiled cat. This was a quick read that had me laughing out loud in many parts. Octo-Cat is hilarious! He is snarky, witty, and confused by humans. He is exactly what I envision a talking cat would sound like. The murder mystery aspect was well-written. I loved this story and look forward to reading more in the series.

I bought this book on Amazon to read for an online book club.

A shocking accident leaves Angie with the ability to talk to cats, at least she can talk to one very important cat. Octo-Cat insists his elderly owner was murdered, and that Angie must avenge her death. This is definitely a cat with catitude! Suffice it to say, this delightful cozy is an imaginative and well written mystery. Angie is quirky enough to be interesting and yet really likable even with all her foibles. She really likes learning, as her seven college degrees attest, but working? Thats ...more

A wonderful debut to the story but the ending seemed abrupt. octo-cat is a stubborn pain the backside! Angie Russo is quirky and curious as a cat. Together, they form quite a sleuthing pair.
With so much tension and suspense built up, I expected a better ending. Nevertheless, this was a fun and entertaining read.

Who wouldn't want to be able to communicate with a smart, snarky, talking cat?

Temporary paralegal (and perpetual student with 7 degrees) Angie Ruso is electrocuted when she plugs in an ancient coffee maker during a will reading. When she comes to can hear the cat who is sitting on her chest talking to her.

The cat tells her that his owner was murdered and asks Angie to find the killer. The cat quickly grows on her and once the murderer is discovered, she asks if she can keep the cat. As his

This series just looked far too cute not to try from Amazon, so much that I even preordered book 2 before I read this one. Sometimes you can just tell you'll enjoy a book, and that was definitely the case here. It veered slightly away from my usual cozies in that the cat can talk, but only to one person (Angie) When she wakes up from an accident and the cat confesses his human has been murdered, it's up to her and her new feline sidekick to work out how Ethel died. It WAS really interesting and ...more

I loved this book! Although I generally prefer dogs over cats, the talking cat in this book could totally change my mind. The quirky characters (aside from the Dr. Doolittle twist) were believable and the plot was nicely paced so the suspense elements kept me on my toes. Without giving away spoilers, I will say that I never saw the guilty party coming and was truly shocked at the reveal. I can't wait to read more in this series!

All you need is an open mind, an open heart and a wry sense of humor to enjoy the oddness that is Kitty Confidential. There is always a twist that's a little bit bigger and tad stranger than the one before, but through all the weirdness, Octo-cat, Fitz and her roster of quirkily, irresistible characters, give readers something to smile about.

Angie gets electrocuted at work and ends up able to communicate with the cat who was there for a reading of the will.

What I enjoyed:
* Octo Cat was the best. His behavior is exactly what I would expect of a cat.
* Angie's interactions with Octo Cat were great and I love how her Nan believed her crazy story immediately.

I just loved this start to the Pet Whisperer series! Angie can speak to animals after being electrocuted by an old coffee pot in the attorney's office where she worked. The timing was perfect as a will had just been read, a will of an old lady who loved her cat. The things the cat tells her, the cat now named Octo-Cat, puts Angie on edge. Now Angie has custody of the cat and going to track down a murderer. Loved the writing! As we grew up with cats in the house, I could just see the cat speaking ...more

Technically it is a mystery because we do not know who the murderer is, but I did not include it with the mysteries because there is virtually no sleuthing. The protagonist just blunders about until the killer tries to murder her and she has to be rescued.

Without effective sleuthing the story depends on situation, characters, interactions, and personalities. The story started well but the protagonist was kind of a loser to me so it was hard to connect with her. I actively

Got this book free awhile ago, eager to see what it was about. I liked the idea of being able to talk to animals, at least to one cat. And that one cat begged her to help solve his owner's murder. At first I found "Octo" to be pretty standoffish, but then, cats can be that way, can't they? As he learned that he could put his trust in this human and that she was really trying to help, he came to love and care for her. Getting electrocuted by an old fashioned coffee pot was something that never ...more

Cant go wrong with a talking cat!

What a fun, light-hearted mystery! Angie Russo is having a very bad...day? Week? Month??? She has a near-death experience but it is hilarious. On the up side, she does find a new best if sometimes irritating friend, Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton. Eventually, Angie nicknames him Octo-cat.

After her accident, she develops the ability to speak to animals. Its a quick read, fun, and I loved the talking cat. OMG, he is SO catlike and full of

I liked the "talking " cat premise. I found some characters quirky and engaging but others not that well developed. The plot seemed like a lot of misdirection with little that actually hinted at the culprit.
