Wow thankyou Candiss I will have to have a look through the shelves and then get back to you all. Looking forward to it :)
Okay I have been looking through them and one kept sticking out to me, I think it is something a little different and looking through the shelf I actually don't have many on my tbr so I think it could be quite a challenge. My pick is: Medieval
hmm, lots of my old favorite romances are on that shelf (I grew up reading Julie Garwood) - but there are some other potential ones on there
What an interesting (in a good way) pick - great stuff, Pollyanna!
Hhm... time to dust off Pillars of the Earth...

lol...see, and we just talked about PotE on the mid-month challenge! I think i'm going to read the second one
I love historical fiction, so this should be fun! I've already read some of those on the first few pages, and also have some on my TBR already. Can't wait!

Thankyou Lynne :)Okay I have picked the shelf picker for May so here you go.....

Congratulations :)
Really excited to see what you pick Dee! I'm anxious to start my first official month in this group. :)
like i said...soo many choices!! and because I was procrastinating at work today and trying to not accomplish anything, I checked some of the various ones out before I headed home...and so (drumroll please)...as May in Armed Forced month, but I didn't really want to use War or Military as shelf themes, I picked:
American History
I saw a bunch of interesting books in there, some lighter readers than others, so hope you guys all find something you want to read!
I already have a list of possible books ready for next month. :) This will be a great shelf for branching out my reading.
Just on the first 2 pages, I found 6 books that I physically have but haven't read, so I have plenty to choose from!
wow, is it that time of the month already?!
Thanks for being so proactive, Pollyanna :)
Congrats, Dee! when you've made your choice, please do have a browse for our avatar and pm me, cheers!

Like Luann, I have a few on my TBR shelf that should be on that list. It will be good impetus to get a few of those books read.
Great choice Dee, looking forward to this shelf. I have quite a few classics on here and I have been meaning to read them for ages so this should give me the kick up the backside I need lol
The Pulitzer winners were announced yesterday, & the books for biography & history will both work for american history - Washington: A Life & The Fiery Trial: Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery. I just thought that was a fun coincidence. :)
ohh, the abe lincoln one looks good! I found quite a few I wanna read/listen to...just a matter of seeing if the library has them now
I just got a note from my library that Assassination Vacation is available for pick up.Of course, I don't know if I'll read that one for the category yet. I just found out that two people shelved The Fiery Cross as 'American History' so I'm tempted to use that one. Or to pick up Huck Finn or Dreams from My Father.
i picked up Wordy Shipmates by Sarah Vowell who did assassination vacation, it looks interesting...I would totally agree with the last 3 outlander series books being on the list because the role of the america revolution in them is fairly significant
Wow, three Sarah Vowell posts in a row! I have a library hold placed on her newest book, Unfamiliar Fishes, and hopefully my turn will come up by the end of the month. (It's about the imperialist invasion and take-over of Hawaii by the United States.)
