My review 5 stars.

I have met all the characters in this book. Peggy now with Brian will have a long life. Sadly, my experience is older people left behind alone, similar to Peggy without an Angie 2-3 years of living seems to be the time line.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments Thanks to HQ Fiction for my first book by Aussie author, Fiona Lowe. Just an Ordinary Family is thought-provoking contemporary fiction that has been compared to work by Jodi Picoult, a comparison I think is quite valid, although Lowe gives it a very Aussie feel.

5 big ★s from me

Kerri_M | 590 comments Just finished The High Lord by AA Trudi Canavan #3 in this trilogy.

This was a slow read for me because of lots going on at work, so working long hours and weekends. So behind with a few of my challenges now.

I enjoyed this book and series, and expected that there would be a follow up trilogy they way that this one ended. And so there is, but it has mixed reviews - so I might not go on - still thinking about it...

The High Lord (Black Magician Trilogy, #3) by Trudi Canavan ★★★★

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments The blurb for Saving Missy by British author Beth Morrey mentions Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine and I agree, there are similarities, but this is a brilliant debut novel in its own right. Bits I could predict, but there were surprises too...

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments While I am looking forward to Graham Brack‘s Master Mercurius Mystery series coming out next year, I’m lamenting that I’ve now finished the last Josef Slonský book for the time being. I tried to make it last, but I couldn’t resist and consumed it in two bites. I sure hope Sapere Books will be publishing more of this entertaining series.
Thanks to NetGalley and Sapere Books for Slonský #6, Laid In Earth, a big 5★s and a fervent wish for more.

There is finally a brighter light being shone on this dark part of the colonisation of Australia.
