This one was a bit different to my usual reads - a gothic horror! I quite enjoyed it :) 4 stars

Nobody's Fool by Richard Russo is terrific! Millions of readers and the Pulitzer Prize people weren’t wrong. Unforgettable characters and a great read!

My review of
The Family Lie by Jake Cross ★, a twisty family thriller.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Last of my autumn spell-it-out challenges, AA Meg Keneally's The Soldier's Curse. 3.75★https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Having read Nathan Ripley's Find You In The Dark last year, I thought I would see how his second novel turned out when it appeared on NetGalley. I note that I gave his debut 3.5★s and I give this one, Your Life Is Mine, the same. The potential is there, but not quite realised. I'd warn prospective readers not to try guessing who the murderer is from the characters appearing throughout the story, because that's an exercise in frustration: he doesn't appear until the last twenty pages.

My third book in the "Wyatt" series, by AA Garry Disher The Heat 5★https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Last year, I read (and raved over) Breath, by AA Tim Winton, so I was looking forward to The Shepherd's Hut.But after several attempts the monotonous, whinny voice of Jaxie Clackton got to me, and I wondered if I could reach page 50 before slashing my wrists. And no book is worth that. DNF

This seems to one of those books that polarises its readers. They are either all for or all against. I have no opinion as I having not read anything by Tim Winton, as yet.

I wasn't sure if Winton was having "a lend" of the reader: a literary joke, maybe? But I'll pass on others by him now.

I concur 😨😨
It's over-the-top adrenaline, action, and high-tech when Gregg Hurwitz brings Orphan X, aka the Nowhere Man, Out of the Dark and pits him against US President Jonathan Bennett.

Having a clean out, and The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn was the first to go. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just because A.S. King writes for young adults, doesn't mean an older adult like me can't enjoy her books. Her latest, Dig gets 5★s from mehttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons was a confusing mess that I actually really enjoyed! Who doesn't like a little chaos from time to time?

I have finally read the very first Disc World book, The Colour of Magic, by the much-loved, late Terry Pratchett, whose phenomenal output earned him a knighthood. What an absolute romp of a book!
