15.6 - My Personal Hero
Read a NONFICTION biography or autobiography of someone who you consider to be a hero. REQUIRED: Briefly explain why this person is one of your personal heroes.
Life in Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina by Misty Copeland
* I consider Misty Copeland a personal hero, since she is a first black woman to become a principal dancer in ABT and as such had to break a lot of long-standing stereotypes. I am in a male-dominated profession and as a woman I can identify with a lot of her struggles. Just like her, I did not come into my profession as early as some people.
