Debbie Phillips (debbie_phillips) Chrissi wrote: "The Nightingale (at least the 2 sisters, as I remember?)"

Can someone tell me if this is mutiple POV or not?
I'm working on my list.

message 156: by Lorna (new)

Lorna | 30 comments I'm reading The Castings Trilogy for this one. I think people that enjoy fantasy would like it- and bonus, since it's actually three books in one you don't have to commit to the 1200+ page omnibus!

message 157: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Phillips (debbie_phillips) Help, please.
Does Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg count for this? I found it on a list on Listopia.

message 158: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Started Early, Took My Dog it is at least two POV and I checked anything more than one can be called multiple

message 159: by Katie (new)

Katie Turner | 64 comments Station Eleven definitely fits here, and it's fantastic!

message 160: by Annesa (new)

Annesa (annesamarie) | 1 comments Been reading “The Immortalists” and it’s great for this category!

message 161: by Lynette (new)

Lynette Caulkins | 92 comments Debbie wrote: "Help, please.

I would say you can count it. First you have the two time settings, but you also have two different points of view in story-telling - that of Idgie and that of Evelyn.

And sometimes the POV of Idgie is from Ninny Threadgoode talking to Evelyn, but sometimes it's from a third-person narrator.

message 162: by Joyce (new)

Joyce (joyce_houston) | 8 comments Liar's Paradox by Taylor Stevens

Umairah (Sereadipity) (sereadipity) | 29 comments I would recommend the Six of Crows duology for those who enjoy YA/fantasy. It's told from over 6 POVs

message 164: by Crumb (new)

Crumb | 395 comments I would highly recommend If You Leave Me If You Leave Me by Crystal Hana Kim by Crystal Hana Kim. It's a family saga set in Asia during the Korean War.

message 165: by Jacque T (new)

Jacque T | 1 comments Maureen wrote: "Raquel wrote: "Maureen wrote: "I'm new to this challenge, so hopefully I am doing this correctly, but I really enjoyed reading The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner. If I am under..."

I definitely count the books I read to/with my children as we homeschool. In fact, they also follow the challenge to see how many books they read. I reward their challenge with "book dollars" which just means if they read more than half the challenge they can spend my money on more books.

message 166: by Marissa (new)

Marissa | 1 comments I read “Little Fires Everywhere” by Celeste Ng for this prompt.

message 167: by Christina (new)

Christina (crissytina) | 83 comments I'm currently reading You Were Made for This for the set in Scandinavia prompt and it would also work for this one.

message 168: by Abbie (new)

Abbie (abbienormal21) | 91 comments Darci wrote: "I'm going to read Before the Fall. It looks like it'll fit this prompt."

That absolutely works, and it is such a fantastic book! I'm a fan of Noah Hawley's TV shows and I hate him a little bit for being so ridiculously talented as a storyteller after reading that book, it was on of my favorite reads in 2017.

message 169: by Myriam (new)

Myriam Bourassa | 2 comments Someone mention that some Colleen Hoover books would work. I really want to read It ends with us, would it fit that prompt? I don’t know if there is only one or more povs since I haven’t read it yet!

message 170: by Crumb (new)

Crumb | 395 comments Ah! Thanks for that recommendation, Christina. How is that book ?

message 171: by Nicole (last edited Jan 07, 2019 05:25AM) (new)

Nicole | 3 comments I'm reading Falling Kingdoms for this one, it's been on my TBR forever so two birds one stone!

intoxicating_reads | 15 comments Finished book # 2 for the challenge under this prompt :-) : Shogun by James Clavell. This is not a book I would normally read, but I am trying to read books outside my comfort zone and so glad I did. I absolutely loved this one!

message 173: by Christina (new)

Christina (crissytina) | 83 comments Crumb wrote: "Ah! Thanks for that recommendation, Christina. How is that book ?"

You're welcome! I am loving it! It's a bit dark with a possible trigger issue (PM me if you want more details) but the suspense is non-stop and I can't wait to see how everything plays out! Hoping to finish it tonight. :)

message 174: by Jess (new)

Jess Penhallow | 427 comments I'm currently reading Shadow of The Fox and it would fit this prompt.

Lark of The Bookwyrm's Hoard (lark_bookwyrmshoard) | 25 comments Keri wrote: "Which new book by Susanna Kersley would work?"
Bellewether
A Desperate Fortune

message 176: by Chloe (new)

Chloe | 16 comments I finally read A Storm of Swords for this prompt. Loved it and the books are really beginning to differ from the TV series from this point onwards so decided to incorporate the entire A Song of Ice and Fire series into my Challenge (eek!). Just started A Feast for Crows and it seems to do something rather different with the POV chapters, so will be interesting to compare the texts through this lens.

message 177: by Aly (new)

Aly (executivespooky) | 45 comments Would The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo work?
The book alternates between Evelyn telling about her past and Monique's perspective and interactions in present day.

message 178: by Sonia (new)

Sonia | 3 comments I’ve just finished reading The Marble Collector by Cecelia Ahern for this prompt. It’s a beautiful story that revolves around a father and daughter. Would also work for the prompt a book that takes place in a day.

message 179: by Sarah-Jane (new)

Sarah-Jane Frances | 3 comments 9 Perfect Strangers, onlinebookclub's January read is perfect for this prompt.

message 180: by Brandy (new)

Brandy B (bybrandy) | 260 comments Just finished The Chilbury Ladies' Choir by Jennifer Ryan which is told from the perspective of several women from a small town set during World War II. It is an epistolary with every chapter being a diary entry or letter. I didn't love it. I was even sort of angry at it by the time it ended but it has great reviews people loved it.

Another Epistolary I read this week was Meet Me at the Museum by Anne Youngson letters written between the late middle aged framer's wife in East Anglia and a recent widower museum curator that are ostensibly about making sense of the life you are living and making a new life at this stage. LOVED it. Plus it is the author's debut novel at the age of 70. Proving it isn't too late to late to become the person I want to be when I grow up.

I read Meet Me at the Museum a few weeks ago. I really liked it also, a very touching book. I did not know that about the author, how cool is that?

Never heard of this, I live in a neighbouring villlage to where this must be based Chilham in Kent, will have to read it now!,

message 183: by Helen (new)

Helen | 6 comments I've just finished reading All Things Cease to Appear which was really good and definitely hits the different character POV topic.

The book starts at the end so you already know what happens but the story takes you through twists and turns from multiple character POV's to find out who and what lead to the murder of one of the main characters.

would defo recommend

message 184: by Kayla (new)

Kayla | 9 comments this one is on my list:
The Mapmaker's Children http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18...

message 185: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Blocher | 64 comments Pulling from my TBR list and reading The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton. I loved her book The Lake House.

message 186: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Singleton | 4 comments I'm reading One of Us Is Lying for this prompt! I think I'm doing this wrong, because I'm picking books I want to read, then finding a prompt that fits. Oh well! I'm also scouting books to use in a choice reading unit for my 10th graders, so two birds!

message 187: by Anne (new)

Anne (annefullercoxnet) | 204 comments Reading a book then seeing where it fits is not doing the challenge wrong. A lot of people do it that way.

message 189: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan (csucichang) | 10 comments Love in Infant Monkeys is a really interesting series of vignettes that I read for this postmodern literature class in college. I recommend it!

message 190: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Groves | 57 comments I read a book called Mink River by Brian Doyle. It's set in a small Oregon town, and although there are several characters who get more attention than others, we do get to know perhaps half a dozen others fairly well, and we learn enough about a number of others to make them distinct characters. I could double dip and use this for the two-word title prompt, but since that one shouldn't be hard to do, I'll just use Mink River once.

message 192: by Beth (new)

Beth (dogmom6584) | 6 comments I just fished "The 57 Bus" by Dashla Slater and it was awesome. True story of a child who caught an a gender on fire and the results. Highly reckoned t

message 193: by Kristin (new)

Kristin Magnant | 20 comments I picked My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult for my "a book you see someone on TV reading" (Gilmore Girls) and it's a multiple POV as well! I don't use one book for more than one challenge, but thought I'd mention it here! :)

message 194: by Sally (new)

Sally | 30 comments I am reading the Lightkeeper's Daughter by Jean Pendziwol. Thinking it fits into this prompt.

message 195: by Kim (new)

Kim Kuhne (kimkuhne) | 17 comments I just finished Descent by Tim Johnston. Story of a teen getting taken against her will is told from the perspectives of the 4 people in her family and a few supporting characters. Worth reading if you like family-psychological dramas.

message 196: by Angela (new)

Angela (skiesclear) Though it would fit in other places just as nicely (Author with first and last name starting with same letter, or as a stretch, retelling of a classic), I read Spinning Silver for this one. Highly recommended.

message 197: by Lindsey (last edited Jan 25, 2019 06:27AM) (new)

Lindsey | 10 comments The Boat People by Sharon Bala

I just finished this one. It's told from the viewpoints of a refugee, his lawyer/advocate, and one of the hearing officers. Very thought-provoking!

This would also work for the debut novel prompt.

message 198: by Doris (new)

Doris (webgeekstress) I just re-read Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None (which holds up amazingly well to re-reading) and realized that it toggles among different points of view.

That is one great book!

message 200: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 6 comments I'm thinking of Happily ever After. It might fit this one. It has the two main character views, plus a bride's.
