"With the questions" he replied not moving away from her, just feeling her body next to his so close.
She smiled and nodded, enjoying this feeling that fluttered in her stomach. Ben stood in the middle of the crowd and clapped his hand together. "Alright everyone, time for lights out. Please make it back to your tents."
She bit her lip just at Marie came skipping up behind Lucy and tugged on her skirt. Lucy blinked and turned around. "Are you my leader today?" She asked jokingly.
Jeff smiled and turned to leave. Trying to think how he would meet up with Lucy later when darkness fell.
Lucy looked over her shoulder at Jeff and mouthed to him: "I'll find you." She then smiled and let Marie tug her away.
Jeff returned to the tent that housed about six men. This was where he was supposed to stay the night and he lingered outside of the tent listening to the men talk.
About an hour later, Lucy ducked out her tent once Marie and her Ma were asleep. She threw on a black cloak over her robe and nightgown, not bothering to slip on shoes as she padded down the aisles of tents barefooted towards the middle of the camp.
Lucy turned a corner as she entered the men's side of camp. She passed by a drunk man outside of his own tent, who whistled at Lucy.
She glared at the man and began a to jog lightly down the aisles of tents, wondering how she's going to find out which one was jeff's.
Lucy stopped when she saw a figure in the distance. "Jeff?" She whispered loudly, hoping it was him. She held the cloak tighter around herself.
"I'd never forget. I just to wait for them to fall asleep. And getting here wasn't easy." She explained, hugging him tight.
"Come with me," she grinned, stepping back and taking his hand, leading him down the path of tents and past the centre. "Marie told me where the river was. You know, with the waterfall. She said you can see the stars better." She told him as they walked.
Lucy gaped her mouth open at the sight of the river once they trudged through a clearing in the trees. The moon illuminated the clearing, no lantern needed. The hush of the water was mute since the tide wasn't high tonight. She stopped walking and smiled at the waterfall. "It's beautiful." She whispered.
"Yes it is" Jeff agreed the quiet stillness calming his frayed nerves. Also being with Lucy, alone like this made his spirits high and the beauty of the moment enhanced everything.
She sighed happily and unclipped her cloak, then waved it in the air and gently flattened it out on the flat ground. Her hair fell out of its knot, tumbling down her back on light brown waves. She rested her hands on her robed hips and nodded with satisfaction at her makeshift bed.
She smiled warmly and lowered herself onto the cloak, legs bent to the side. She patted the spot beside her. "Come down here."
"When you told me we..you know in your dream," she blushed. "Were we actually married?" Lucy asked softly, starring out out into the water.
"I'm not sure" he replied "That part I don't really remember, I guess we were if we wre you know, together like that."
"I really want to kiss you." She whispered, not moving her eyes away from him eyes. Her heart slammed against her breast bone.
A small undecipherable sound came out of Lucy's mouth when he kissed her so passionately, catching her off guard a bit. But she enjoyed it, placing a hand on his cheek and grazing the tip of her tongue briefly along his bottom lip.
