Book: El Sobrino del Mago by C.S. Lewis
Finished: 11/08/18
# of pgs: 215
How it fits: #6 of The Chronicles of Narnia, publication order
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
I love love love reading the creation of Narnia, this is one of my favorite books in the series, and I truly beieve that the right reading order is the publication order. This book (The Magician's nephew) starts assuming you already know Narnia and had already read some of the books from the series. And it's pretty beautiful to finally know how this world came to be, I stil remember the emotions I went through when I read this for the first time so many years ago.
Also, the Main characters in this one are so much likeable than the ones in the 4th book, Polly is really clever and Dígory is super curious and I like that ((view spoiler) )
I can't stand Andrés, and meeting Jadis is amazing, because you get to know her original world.
Aslan of course I love him.

Team, I used one of our bonus points to get us off 80 and onto 81. On 80 our only series options were 8, 80 and standalone, but on 81, we get 1, 8, 81 and standalone. I thought being able to use a first in series would be helpful. Hope no one minds.

I didn't read your review as I knew I would be getting to this book. It will be interesting to read how they 'redeem' him....but I have no doubt that the writing duo will have me liking him (at least not hating him) by the end of the book. I grabbed the audio to listen to

Book: Witchin' USA- Amanda M. Lee
Qualification: Moonstone Bay Cozy Mystery #1
Date Finished: 11/10/18
Rating: 3 stars
Review: This is the first book of the Moonstone Bay Cozy Mystery series. Hadley inherits a lighthouse when her grandmother dies. Once she moves to Moonstone Bay, she discovers that the inhabitants are keeping secrets. Even her grandmother had a secret. And someone is killing people on the island. Hadley works with the sheriff, Galen, and Booker, the town handyman to solve the mystery. This is a typical Amanda Lee story, lightweight with lots of banter. These are nice when you only have a short amount of time to read.

Well, I should have known any book from Ilona Andrews would be excellent. This one had me right from the beginning, and I didn't want to put it down at all. I loved Nevada and her family, and Mad Rogan has quickly made it to the top of the list of my favorite heroes. This book had a little bit of everything: action, romance, humor. I'm already 60 percent of the way through book 2, so I am definitely continuing the series, lol.

Review: I actually enjoyed every minute of this book. I just finished it and am glad that I got to listen to Sebastian York read to me. He makes everything better.
It was a great humor filled, angst free romance. I was glad to get that after finishing one full of angst not long ago.
Ward and Keeland together always hit pretty high for me. So, I knew from first mention that I was going to read this.
The chemistry between Reed and Charlotte was off the charts, so much so that the sexual tension could be felt pretty much from the start.
I loved that sense of the inevitable that you feel about their relationship as soon as they meet (at least I felt it). I loved that the person who took Charlotte under their wing and fought for them the hardest was someone related to Reed.
I loved everything.... Hoping they'll think about giving us a book for Max, and even Adam.
I will most likely be using air typing to save myself from saying things that may get me into trouble. I also love the fuck it list, instead of bucket list.

I was so disappointed. I had a couple of GR friends recommend the one back in the day but I just never picked it up. I’m so glad I listened to it for free because it was boring and cliche.
Seraphia was an undercover cop working hard for a shot at taking down the man who murdered her brother when she runs into crime looked Bowen Driscoll. So of course this intelligent, hardworking and conscientious police officer becomes puddy in the hands of an arrogant, sexually aggressive mobster. Why not jeopardize your future and safety, right?
I hate this type of stories and making the “bad” guy seem like he’s good because he doesn’t want to break knee caps or break ribs of those who didn’t pay him protection money just grates my nerves. Whether his heart is in it or not, he is beating the hell out of people and taking their hard earned money from them. He is terrorizing small business owners. So whatever.
Also, too many sex scenes for a Virgin. I didn’t like him so i don’t want to hear his dirty talk and grunts. I would have liked a stronger heroine who didn’t let things happens as opposed to making them happen. Simpering heroines when she wasn’t set up to be so annoy me. I may try another series before giving up on the author

Review: Holy Shit ~ this book was awesome. I was sucked in from the very first chapter. Even though it's a book about evil Hugh D'Ambray. I'm thinking there will never be a book that writing duo Ilona and Gordon put out that I won't love. Ilona and Gordon made me feel things for Hugh that I didn't think were possible. It was interesting seeing him in the eyes of the Iron Dogs and then in Elara's eyes. The narrator for this was fantastic. So glad I grabbed the audio. Is it bad to say how much I enjoyed hearing Hugh (Steve West) say Elara's name. I'm still team Kate but the writing and pacing for this book is really well done. The fight scene between Rafael and Hugh was interesting. I loved Elara and the fact that she always gave Hugh exactly what he deserved and didn't back down. Now I really need to read the next Kate book.

Review:
I do love this series. The crimes can be hard to read/stomach and hard to imagine how Eve works through it time after time, but there is so much to balance all of that, that I keep coming back for more. This was an especially ugly crime and the solving of it was unexpected but I felt like Eve's character opened up, softened some maybe. That's not really the right word - she just seems to be getting less two-dimensional. I guess one would hope so after 29 books! Anyway, there was all of the usual humor and light-hearted-ness of Peabody/McNAbb and Eve's inability to 'get' social niceties. And as always, Roarke was the perfect hero! All those things keep me coming back for more!

This second in the series ended in cliff hanger. I’m not sure I’ll read book 3. I see the authors attempt to redeem Arturo but he’s still a lying vampire. I do believe that he loves Quinn but I don’t like his manipulative ways. Also, the heroine is a sorcerer who no one knows anything about her powers, how to use them or even control them.
This story could have been more but I don’t trust the vampires and don’t believe they have enough good to compensate for their propensity to feed and abuse humans.

Review: Dillon is a ghost. He is haunting his father when he discovers his mother, who left him when he was a child. He decides that he is going to get his parents back together and maybe then he can cross over. I enjoyed Dillon's interactions with his parents and the way he helped Rachel. He has a good heart. I look forward to seeing more of him in the future.
