I live an hour outside of Chicago Illinois. CST for me. Married with two children. Just dropped off our oldest (son) at College in Missouri a few weeks ago. What a mixed bag of emotions that day was. Have a daughter in High School. Two dogs - they are in my profile pic along with my daughter. I work full time as well in the healthcare field. I don't wish to captain.
Ezi ~ yeah, two team challenges together!!

My time zone is also CST. I live in Louisiana.
Married (17 yrs) with kids (23, 18, 16. 12 ~ turns 13 next month). So that makes one in the military, one in college, one in high school and one in jr. high school.
I also work full time outside the home, so in essence two full time jobs.
I am an avid reader (audio, ebook, paper or hard cover) and a challenge addict with this challenge being one of my favs.

I'm also in Illinois, so Central Time Zone for me too. I'm married with three kids, ages 4, 2 1/2, and 18 months. All three are boys, so it's very noisy in my house, lol. Reading gives me a chance to decompress after running around after them all day!
Hi 👋🏾 Teammates.
I know all of you so I’m excited to be on your team. This should be fun.
I’m a wife (15yrs), mom of 3 young ones (11yr old daughter, 9&7 yr old boys). We have sports everyday between 21 hours Gymanstics, Basketball and Baseball for the boys.
Reading (and late night eating) have been my stress relief. I’m working on the eating thing to be healthier.
I’m also trying to read less and watch more tv. But when This is Us, Vikings, The Last Kingdom or Poldaek comes back, don’t call me or come over unless you are dying 😂
Right now I plan to try Cable Girls or Alias Grace on Netflix this week. Let me know if you have tried it.
I’m also enjoying KC Undercover, Bunk’d, Raven’s home with my kids 😂
Names: 2 Fast 2 Furious Readers
2 all the books I’ve loved before (saw the movie on Netflix
Hope you all come up with better names

I'm married 25 yrs, have 18 and 22 y/o boys. One in college (but at home) and one a senior. I feel lots of changes coming in the next year. We also have a dog and a cat (21 y/o!!!)
I'm in Indiana which makes me Eastern time zone. Yeah, I know. We're that weird state. I'm in the middle of the state in a suburb of Indianapolis.
I like the 2 Fast 2 Furious Readers. I also like 2 All the Books I Loved.... not much help there, I guess...
Can't wait to get started!

I would prefer not to be captain, but could do it if no one else wants the job. :-)

If you could do it that would be great, if not, I am available

If no one else really wants to be captain, I can be captain. I have a nocturnal schedule and am awake at 6am eastern time so as long as we all have our books read by Thursday night, it could work.

Sounds like we have a name... and possibly a captain in Sam...
I also vote for you Sam

So turns out the mod wasn't paying attention when writing up the bonus point requirements, so here's an update to the starting and finishing a series bonus. What it was meant to say is:
✸ One point can be earned for starting and finishing a series. There must be at least 4 books in that series. Series + spin-off totalling ≥4 books also counts. For series with >9 books, point will be awarded for reading books 1-9.

With all players checked in and a sizeable list of back-ups, I'm making some last minute additions to the smaller teams.
Paula will be joining you.
Paula will be joining you.

I'm Paula, I'm 28 y-o and a chemical engineer working in mining consultancy. I'm not married xD I don't have kids, I have a boyfriend and I have a dog named Buffon, but I still live with my parents, I know that must seem weird, but it's common where I'm from. I'm from Chile (South America) my time zone is GMT - 3 (1 more hour than EST time)
This is my first time playing this challenge, I hope to advance in my series while I'm at it hahaha.
I'm sorry if my english isn't perfect =P, but my native language is spanish
I love the name of the team btw

wow! you sure are a night owl :)
sounds good to me ~ I'll check when I wake up for our spot

If we earn any bonus points, when do we want to use them? Last team I was on ended up not using the bonus points at all, but I like the idea of using them to give us extra choices (moving up one or two spots to get off a repeat double digit number, like 66 for example.)

When it says each bonus point can be earned once per team, does that mean if I start a series and Sam finishes a series, as a team we only get 1 point and we wouldn't be eligible to earn that bonus again?

Sounds great

How long is too long and how early is too early???
I like to use bonus points to get off spots that are hard like read a book set in South America or a number that’s rough like Sam said.
I’m trying to get rid of series using FWYS so I’m in for that or books over 500 Pages etc

Midnight CST is 2am for me =P, so goodnight =)

I figured I was reading that wrong! Seemed to easy... Anyway, I think ultimately my question was that even if more than one person does something that qualifies as a bonus, we only earn it once. And I think you answered that part too ;-)

Ah, that makes sense. Do you work in the healthcare field?

That's a tough one for me too - it seems I've already passed #8 or I'm not quite there on every series.
I did find one that is labeled and numbered as a series but the books aren't inter-related, so skipping to #8 won't be a problem.

Yes, I am a pediatric hospital nocturnist; meaning I am the hospital doctor that stays up all night to take care of the patients.
