RueI looked at him just look at his eyes when he sees me again. My heart just feels like it’s flutterinf again. This spark between us it’s so alluring. It’s almost hard to breathe. I bite my lower lip a little bit before I just pull him closer to me.
“So what are we going to do?” I asked a little sheepishly
Leo
I drive with June to the narcotics department. Of course they were more or less swamped because of the drug war that was happening in the city. But it didn’t seem like something a drug dealer that created icyn would be interested in.
SeanI look at her as she bites her lip a little and draws me closer to her. Our bodies barely inches apart as she asks me so what are we going to do. Damn so looks so shy and cute right now. It is literally taking me everything not to get a hard on over her. I mean she is the captain's daughter. He would have my balls if I messed with her.
"I don't know." I admit and sigh a little. "We... we should focus on our case right now. We can figure out whatever this is later."
Juni
The narcotics department is swamped like usual and honestly I have a feeling it is going to be a bus. But they surprise me as one of the lab techs tell us about the sample we brought in last night.
"Well given the mixture of drugs in this batch my guess is the ingredients came from these different human dealers." They hold out a sheet with printed address.
"Sweet, that's a start. We can go pay a visit to them and see if they know who is buying up their stuff for icyn."
LeoI looked at the report and just smiled a little. Finally a lead, don't like the fact that we had help from an elemental that i don't trust her at all. But then again she was the captain's daughter so there was some form of trust in there.
"You're right it is a lead, but we have to tread carefully we don't want you using your powers for right now." I tell her and just smiled a little at her.
JuniHe looks at the report and smiles a little. Jeez he was kind of cute when he smiled, but he rarely does. He always has this grumpy look on his face. He agrees that I'm right and this is a lead.
I raise an eyebrow as he smiles a little in my direction and I roll my eyes over the comment on my powers. "Jeez I know, dad. Believe it or not but I knew how not to use them long before you were around." I say and grab the report.
"Let's get moving. I want to check out a few of these places and see if we can go some info on the dealers."
LeoI looked back at her and just smiled a little bit when she tells me that she's used to not using them since she was little. "Look I'm just saying sometimes you get temperamental and you lose yourself." I explained to her.
I reached out to hold her hand and just stopped for a little bit. "I want you to be okay, but you sometimes... even with powers you are human. One bullet that's it June." I whispered to her before i let her go and go o get in the car.
JuniHe looks back at me with that little smile on his face. He tells me that he is just saying that I get temperamental and I lose myself. "Last time I checked I wasn't the only one who did that, hot head." I tease heading to the car.
I glance back at him as he grabs my hand, stopping me. He whispers he wants me to be okay, that even with my element I'm still human. One bullet and it could be all over. He let's go of my hand and gets in the car.
I stand there stunned for a moment at how worried he sound. How desperate his whispered comment had come out. I shake my head telling myself he was just worried about getting in trouble if I die. It wasn't anything more, it couldn't be. I mean he can't stand me most of the time.
I get in the car and buckle up. "Alright let's head to this one first. It is the closest." I tell him giving him the directions.
LeoI see her a little more calmed down now when she gets in the car. I looked at my phone to check if we had any incoming texts or messages when nothing. I looked back at the list and kind of thought about it before.
"Maybe we should go to the mexican gang, Los Diablos de Sinaloa? It's interesting that they're involved in this drug so maybe there's something that's personal in there?" I said turning on the car before i hit the street.
JuniHe looks at the list and says that maybe we should go to the Mexican gang first since it is interesting that they would get involved in this.
"Maybe. Can't hurt to try." I say with a shrug and he pulls out into the street. I read over the report taking in all the details we knew about the dealers. Maybe there was a connection. A reason that who ever was behind this was using these dealers.
LeoI looked over at her when i noticed her attention was completely in the report. I didn't say anything anymore, back there... I felt that connection with her again. But i just can't believe that we might have a spark between us. She's much more interested in teh job than anything else.
"Well thank you for looking quite comfortable today, I mean if you would be wearing a tight dress like Cora then i'd have to turn to your apartment to have you change."
JuniI look up as he says thank you for wearing something comfortable today and if I had been wearing a tight dress like Cora then he would have taken me back to my apartment to change.
"Jeez you are such a dad." I say rolling my eyes. "Seriously though, if I had worn a tight dress it much up helped in getting some info from these guys. Never underestimate a pretty girl with a smile and the determination to get info."
LeoI looked back at her and just rolled my eyes a bit. "I'm not saying it because i'm having a dad mentality you dork. I was saying it because I want you safe. And this gang is more into girls that aren't in dresses and have some serious eye liner issue." I tell her and just smiled a little.
"Besides i want you as safe as possible." I tell her and we pull up to the east side of the city.
JuniHe calls me a dork as he tells me he is not saying that because he is having a dad mentality but because he wants me safe. He adds the gang wouldn't really be into that anyway. He smiles a little and tells me again he wants me as safe as possible.
"Okay what is up with you and this safety kick? I mean I get you have to babysit me and all since I am still on a trail run at the station but this feels like it is beyond that." I say looking at him trying to figure out what was up with him.
LeoI was a little surprised at the sudden reaction i looked back over at her with a confused look. "What's with the second degree drill here? I mean we've been partners for three months, and now we're really a duo. I don't see what's wrong with me caring for your safety just like i care for Sean's?" I said completely confused.
I was on the look out for their club house.
JuniHe looks at me confused and asks what is with the second degree drill here. That was have been partners for three months and now we really are a duo. I roll my eyes a little as he says he doesn't see what is wrong with him caring about my safety.
"Okay first off you have hated me from the moment the captain stuck me with you and Patricks. Second, you two were partners. I was more of a tag along and I would go off and do my own thing, like go undercover for two months. Third, I have never seen you this uptight about safety with Patricks."
Leo"Now that's an over stretch i never hated you June, just because i was hard on you doesn't mean that i hate you. You have talent, you have this instinct to this work but you're still in a kid like mentality." I told her and just let out a sigh.
"Pardon if my attitude made you think that i was hating you, I was just being wary of you. " I tell her not wanting her to think that bad of me.
JuniHe tells me that is a stretch he never hated me and just because he was hard on me didn't mean he hates me. He says I have talent and this instinct for this work but I'm still in a kid like mentality. He sighs and tells me he didn't mean to make it seem like he hated me, he was just wary of me.
I huff with a pout. "You seemed like you did. Always yelling at me and looking at me with this grumpy face." I mumble.
LeonI looked back at her just seeing her puffing and huffing at me that she thought i hated her with all of the nagging i was giving her and that i was on her back. I tilt my head to the side just really not understanding this.
"Wait did it bother you this much to think that i might hate you?" I asked her.
JuniHe looks at me with his head tilted to the side looking confused. He asks did it really bother me this much to think that he might hate me. I blush a little and cross my arms looking away from him.
"Maybe." I mumble and huff. "I didn't get why you didn't like me and Patricks wasn't mean to me but you were always on my case. I even tried bringing you coffee one day to see if it would make you happy for once but you started to chew me out for something before I even could give it to you."
LeoI felt kind of bad when she tells me that she was bothered by it, and that she just never really understood where my treatment came from all of a sudden. I didn't want to burden her or anything but i do see that she was just not okay with it.
I let out a sigh and just realized how much of a hot head i am. "I wasn't... I was just trying to be cautious of you. I don't know you so i didn't want to be myself in front of you. I was afraid that one day you'd turn your back on me." I tell her when i lowered my hand so she sees my palm and a light flicker of flame came out.
JuniHe sighs and tells me that he was just trying to be cautious of me and he didn't know me so he didn't want to be himself in front of me. I look at him with a raised eyebrow as he says he was afraid I would turn my back on him.
He lowers his hand and a small flame flickers in it. "Because you're an elemental?" I say confused. "Leo I knew that you were one from day one. Why do you think I tease you about being a hot head." I say shaking my head.
"I'm hodge podge of elemental powers. I can sense when there are other users around me. I knew you and Patricks were elementals from the start. I never said anything since I know a lot of users are still cautious about being known about." I tell him. "Besides being known about isn't fun. You have to follow all kinds of rules and are constant watched because everyone is afraid you'll go rogue."
LeoI looked at her when she tells me that she knew i was an elemental. Which made me feel a little bit like a rookie since for years i was trying to place my element down enough to not be noticed. But i guess i did under estimate her powers.
I do a double take back when she says that she knew Sean and I had powers and i'm surprised. "Wait what? Sean has powers too?" I asked her. Why did he never tell me this.
JuniHe looks at me surprised hearing Sean was an elemental too. I look at him with an oops face. "You didn't know? Shoot I figured since you two were partners that maybe you both knew about each other." I say and ask. "I mean did you tell him anything about you being a fire elemental?"
LeoI shook my head. "No i didn't know, and i didn't want to compromise our partnership with putting him in a difficult situation working with an elemental. Of course i thought he was just human and not like me." I said pinching the bridge of my nose.
Damn do i really know nothing about my partner at all? Now i feel like a piece of shit right now
JuniHe shakes his head saying he didn't want to compromise their partnership because he thought Sean was just a human and not an elemental. He pinches the bridge of his nose looking a little upset.
"Well I mean it is a good reason. You both suppress your elemental powers well and most elementals can only sense someone with the same element. He's lightning so you would have never been able to sense him." I tell him with a little smile.
"Besides I'm kind of like an elemental on crack so I can sense a lot more then a normal elemental can."
Leoi looked back at her and i can tell that she was trying to make me feel better which was honestly really sweet of her. I let out a sigh and just shrugged my shoulders. "Well i guess he'll tell me when he's ready." I said to her
"And I'm sorry about being on your case, I was just really trying to shape you into good detective. You are a diamond in the rough." I explained to her.
JuniHe sighs a little and shrugs his shoulders saying he guesses Sean will tell him when he is ready. He apologizes for being on my case, he just wanted to try and shape me into a good detective. That I was a diamond in the rough.
I blush a little. "I'm really not. They only let me in because of my weird elemental thing." I mumble and look away. "I wanted to learn from you since you seem to be a pretty good detective even if you were a jerk to me."
LeoI looked at her when she keeps mumbling and blushing to me that she still wanted to work with me even when i was a jerk to her. I rolled my eyes when she just keep nagging about my temper. When i leaned in and gave her a peck on her lips. Feeling my own heart stop beating when i pulled away.
"Get over it, you've said it yourself I am a hot head." I tell her and get out of the car to go to the house. And start with our case work.
JuniHe leans over and gives me a peck on the lips. I look at him with wide eyes shocked, my heart beating fast against my chest. I swear I stop breathing for a moment. He tells me to get over it and like I said he was a hot head. He gets out of the car and heads toward the house.
Wait... what!?! I mean did that really just happen! Holy shoot he just kissed me like it was nothing and then walked away. I am still sitting there completely stunned until he calls out for me to come on.
I get out of the car and follow after him biting my lip.
LeoWe get to the house and of course the freaking house was owned by the mother's of one of the head drug dealers. Of course she invited us to come in and eat some mole together. The drug dealer Carbon was not too happy about that.
But still drug dealer rules, don't mess with mom's dinner. Of course the old lady just knew spanish but still warm light as ever.
"Why are your drugs laced with this new drug that's coming out in the market." I tell Carbon, of course the mom just looking at her novela
JuniWe get to the house which is owned by the mother of one of the drug dealers. She invites us in and to eat together. We agree even if the dealer is pissed about it. Once she is busy watching her novella, Leo asks him about his drugs being in icyn.
Honestly I am only half listening at this point. I mean holy wow. He kisses me. Sure it was just a peck but his lips were pressed against mine. It was crazy, this man had been a pain in my ass for months now and he just kisses me out of the blue like that. I didn't know what to think about it.
Leo"Ese, calmado, just because i had a bad past does not mean that i'm out dealing. I've reformed cabron." The guy starts trying to pass as a saint when i bring out a video in my phone of him dealing just literally yesterday to some kids. He just gives me a nasty glare and pinches his bridge.
"Hypothetically speaking lets say i am out and about. A man did approach me, but this happened months ago. He bought my entire stash and i've never seen him after that." He explains to us and i guess it makes sense. It did take him a while to come back to sell.
JuniHe tries to tell us he isn't out dealing and Leo shows him a video of him dealing to some kids literally yesterday. He glares at him and tells him that hypothetically speaking let's say he is out and about. That a man did approach him, but this happened months ago and he bought his entire stash. He never seen him again after that.
"Do you remember what the guy looked like?" I ask him putting my game face back on. I needed to focus not get all silly like a school girl because Leo kissed me.
LeoThe guy looks at us and just shakes his head. "No i don't recall he was wearing a black mask. The only thing i noticed from him was that he felt cold." He tells us and he just tries to not sound like he's crazy.
"He was you know cold, like there was some ice particles around him. It was really just... i guess he was one of those super heroes people. But i guess not super." He tells us which scratches a check mark to our suspicion. It was an ice elemental for sure.
JuniHe shakes his head saying the guy wore a black mask and he was cold, like ice particles around him cold. So it was an ice elemental. This was definitely confirming one of our suspicions about an ice elemental being behind this.
I look at Leo to see if he had anymore questions before we put this to a close and more onto the next.
LeoI can see that we got all we could take from the fountain of info. The guy just looks at his mom and i just stand up again. "Thank your mother for the meal Carlos, and please try to keep clean. You're already hitting your forties." I tell him and i looked over at June
"Detective, let's part." I tell her just walking towards the door and offering it open to her.
JuniLeo gets up and tells him to thank his mother for the meal and to try and keep clean. He looks at me and says let's go. He walks over to the door and I follow him.
"Thanks." I say as he opens it for me and I head back to the car with him. "So it sounds like it is an ice elemental." I say as we walk. "I guess Cora was right about her theory."
LeoI looked at her and smiled just a little bit when she says that it looks like Cora was right. I rolled my eyes a little bit and just shrugged my shoulders a bit. "Well it looks like those doctorate degrees aren't just for show." I tell her and walked her back to the car.
I slid inside and turn on the car before i looked at the report. Kind of made me think about it a bit. "Hmm so what is this idiot doing, going to every drug lord."
JuniHe rolls his eyes and shrugs his shoulders, telling me it looks like those doctorate degrees aren't just for show. We get back in the car and he looks at the report. He thinks out loud saying what is this idiot doing going to every drug lord.
"Well I mean if he did the same thing he did here with all theses names then it is kind of in genius. Stock up supplies for his drug and wipe everyone else out. So when he put out his drug it is the only one available. People get desperate for a hit and he offer his new drug. Probably marketed it as the next new thing. Can get a bunch of people hooked on it quickly." I say reasoning it out.
I look at him and bite my lip a little. "So are we going to talk about that whole kiss thing?" I ask him.
LeoI think about her theory and just bite my lip a bit and just look at the names on the list. I have to give it to him it was pretty intelligent. "The sales man aspect of him promoting his drug is indeed quite intelligent. He's not taking any part of this drug war that's going on because he's already taken off the competition. SO he has nothing to really involve himself in." I tell her
I let out a sigh and just thought about it. "He's a good asset in this drug world and he doesn't feel threatened. " I tell her when she mentions the whole kiss thing.
"Is there a reason why you want to dissect me kissing you like if it's a theory?" I asked her
JuniHe seems to put together the points I was telling him about with my theory and seems to get it was kind of in genius. This guy was really something else and I have a feeling he was going to be a tricky one to snag.

LeoI looked back at her and just realized that she was reacting a little too much. I tilted my head to the side when she tells me that no one can just kiss someone for no reason. She completely freaking out and rambling before I leaned in and gave her a kiss on her lips.
“That was for you to shut up.” I tell her before I cupped her face more carefully and I kissed her again.
“That was for you to calm down.” I whispered to her and I kissed her again this time just lingering just a little more. I pulled away a little and I just looked at her.
“That was because I like you.”
JuniHe looks at me as I spaz a little over the fact that he didn't see anything wrong with him just kissing me randomly. I mean not even a few hours ago I was sure he hated me.
He leans over and kisses me again. He tells me that was to shut me up. He cups my face and kisses me again, whispering that was to calm me down. He kisses me this time lingers and then pulls away as he looks at me. He tells me that was because he likes me.
"I... you..." I say not even able to string together a sentence. My lips tingling a little and my face feels hot as I look at him. "But... you... I didn't think you liked me, let alone like me like that." I whisper.
LeoI looked at her again when she just starts turning bright red and she’s stammering a little telling me that she didn’t know that I liked her in that way. She just starts trying to bring things together when I look at her and just let out a sigh.
“June I never hated you. I like you but then again I never was sure that I could trust you. And there’s that thing that well I’m not good with people skills.” I looked at her and just smiled a little.
“You want to go get a cup of tea so you can relax?” I asked her.
JuniHe looks at me and sighs explaining he never hated me and he likes me but he wasn't sure he could trust me. He adds there is the this whole thing with him not being good at people skills. He smiles a little and asks if I want to go get a cup of tea so I can relax.
"Ah sure." I say softly, biting my lip a little. "That would be nice."
Oh jeez, I mean I don't know what to think. I believe him about not hating me but snap I swear him kissing me frazzled my brain. The man is hot like set you on fire hot, literally and fugitively. I had sneaked a peek a few times when he was down in the station gym training. The man was ripped, like want to lick his abs ripped. To think he likes me, swoon.
LeoI drove ahead back to the normal arts of the city when I stopped at a red light and I looked over and see her just blushing so bright red. I scoffed a little and just tried to act as normal as possible. “Why do I get the feeling that you’re picturing me in rather less clothes than I have right now?” I asked her smiling a little. Well it wouldn’t hurt to tease her a little bit man.
I drove up towards a nice little coffee shop. It’s a good break to just make a couple of notes about the case so far.
JuniHe drives us back to the normal parts of the city. He looks over at me when he stops at a red light and asks why does he get the feeling that I'm picturing him in less clothes them he is wearing right now.
"I'm not!" I squeak, blushing even harder. I look away as he starts to drive again to a little coffee shop. I wait for him to part before I get out and take a deep breath, needing to clear my head for a moment and not think about him kissing me.
LeonI see her blushing for me and I couldn’t help but smile. “You do know that the more you blush the more I know that you’re lying to me.” I teased her a little before we finally got out and we went to go and slip into the calm atmosphere of the coffee shop. It was pretty relaxing and she needed a tea.
“Yes can I please have a black coffee and she’ll have a tea and anything else she might want.” I said looking at her. I wasn’t going to be one of those alpha dog guys. She’s a pretty good alpha all ok her own.
JuniHe teases me that the more I blush the more he is going to know that I am lying to him. "Oh shush." I say still blushing bright red as we head into the café. It was calming and relaxing. I liked the vibe of the place.
He orders himself coffee and says I'll have tea and what ever else I want as he looks at me. "Camomile tea and a chocolate chip cookie." I say with a little smile. The cashier punches in our order and asks if it is for here or to go.
"For here." I tell them and pay for my half before Leo can even argue with me about it.
Leo“You see how can anyone be chivalrous if this new millennium ladies won’t allow us to do so.” I tell her smiling when of course she beat me to the punch. But I went ahead and paid for my half and gave a generous tip since she had paid the half. We go all the way to nice booth in the back before I just take a breather.
“That mole was indeed pretty good... I wonder what those two are up to. I mean is it me or did they seem like they wanted to just get naked in front of each other.” I mean I had never seen Sean ever look at a girl the way he did to her.
She blushes telling me she feels it too and she can't stop feeling it when she is with me. Her fingers lace through my own and it practically turns up the static between us. She tells me it doesn't feel painful and it is slightly erotic.
I blush a little myself, looking down at our hands before I look back at her. "Yeah..." I say softly trailing off not sure what to say. I mean I had never felt anything like this before.
