Vicky, do you prefer separate posts for each book, or a single post for everything when posting at once, or do you not care either way?

Characters: Adelaide, Cedric, Tamsin, Mira, Warren
Letters: T, G, R, M, A, C, W

Pages: 263
Date Read: 5/31

No preference for me. :)

Date Finished: May 31, 2018 (started May 30, 2018)
Pages: 361
Word Count (middle-grade book): 85,079
NOT Used for Quidditch (because started too early)
Important Characters: Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Grover Underwood, Tyson, Rachel Elizabeth Dare, Quintus, Kronos, Luke, Hera, Nico di Angelo, Minos, others (most with same initials as aforementioned)

Task: Maybe Charms - Banishing? Or possibly a Dark Art defense? Because Nico, Son of Hades, in this book says he is the ghost king and banishes King Minos and all his spirits back to the Underworld (page 287)
OR
Spells: U is for Underwood, Grover
Oh! And Goodreads is once again having Date Read issues. This book is showing as Read on my shelf, but it has a blank date finished right now. Not sure what that means for us, but probably nothing good.

320 pages
4*
Characters: Sarah Brandt, Frank Malloy
Letters: M, V, T, S, B, F
Not much to go on with this one.

I would say yes, looks similar in color to some of the books the captains have approved already. We're being a bit lenient on indigo since different sources seem to have different takes on what color it actually is. ;)

Spilled Coffee
J.B. Chicoine
6-2-2018
311 pages
3*
Characters: Ben, Amelia
Letters: S, J, C, B, A
Could we do anything with the coffee on the cover? Maybe a book with a clean notebook?

Care of Magical Creatures - Pig snout (or hooves)?"
I think I like the idea of using it for our Magical Creature - we need to get that built!
For the record - transfiguration doesn't need to be that complex. We could turn a woman into a pig even if it wasn't holding a flower.

Definitely an option!
We could probably even use it as part of a banishing charm if we used this book first and then just had a cup of coffee without the spill. Like we had banished the mess!

That's a good idea!

Don't feel too discouraged, Quidditch is definitely more cutthroat then the rest of the challenge. It's just weird being it's more time based and the kinks are still being ironed out. You're doing great! :)

The Perfect Neighbors
Sarah Pekkanen

399 pages

No bonus points for creativity? :)

Series: Elsie Hawkins
Pages: 234
Date Read: 6/2
Rating: 3
Characters: Lizabeth Hawkins, Matt Hallahan
Letters: S, J, E, L, H, M
Additional: Charms/Transfiguration - Dog on cover; shoe on cover.

No bonus points for creativity? :)"
I wish! ;)

Hmmm. Is there anything in the book that would point at it being a scale? It definitely looks like it could be, but I don't know if it's "enough." I'll ask over in the captain's group.

I got excited when I saw it. And it could totally be a scale of justice, which is what it looks like to me. But this one revolves around a murder at a play. It could be some part of the stage, where they lower someone/thing down. Although that doesn't happen in the book.

So presumably the tasks I listed for it can now come into play.

Date Read: June 2, 2018

Task: I don't know and I am feeling too discouraged to check. I am not enjoying my time on our Quidditch team. :-(

But Daughter of the Siren Queen and Charlie All Night CAN be used for Spells or Classes.

Thanks, Laura. Between all of the waiting and then reading only to have the books knocked out. . .it's VERY discouraging. :-(

The captains are saying it's not enough. Sorry! :(

BIG UPDATE!
Hey All - I've been adding books to our classes today and just want to let you all know where we stand and what we still need. I'm also going to put here what people are potentially reading - so if this has changed and you aren't reading what you're penciled in for, let me know!

>A book w/ a girl not wearing jewelry on the cover to pair with

>A book w/ empty hands to pair with

>A book w/ a tree with leaves on it to pair with

Defense Against the Dark Arts - 1/7 Pairs (2/14 Books)
We have a bunch of books that have paranormal creatures in the for the first book in a pair, we just need to find some titles with words that will negate them. Here's what we have and some ideas:
>Scourged has Fae, Werewolves, Vampires - Could use titles that have Iron (Fae), Silver (Werewolves), Stake/Sun/Garlic/Fire (Vampires)
>Vampire Academy & Frostbite - Vampire defenses again

1 Orange Cover
1 Pink Cover

Transfiguration
I haven't put anything into transfiguration yet, but since we'll be able to throw almost anything at it - I figure we can focus on other things first.
If anything you're currently reading works for these or if you have anything on deck you could read for them - let me know! I'm not sure when the Tri-Wizard Tournament will be introduced, but I'd like to get as much of the Classes out of the way as possible before we get to it! :)

Also, I'm reading both BOMs for June and will be doing questions for Leah on the Off Beat, so that will bring us in a few points!

Lory asked if it was indigo, but didn't say if she was reading it or not, so I didn't jot it down. But yes, we may have that covered!

So. . . Second Completion Post for today:

Date Read: June 2, 2018
Pages:
After all the reading I've been doing, I'm fairly certain that 107 must be the correct page count for this book. It took me nearly one hour to read 30 pages in another book book, so around or just over 3 hours for this book now sounds right. (Darn it.)
NOT used for Quidditch. :-(
Important Characters: Britt Arthurs, Merlin, Sir Ector, Sir Kay, King Lot, King Urien, King Pellinore, King Ryence, Ywain
Letters: BAMEKLUPRYS
