LOL!! Yes, she has :) They are so cute together! He's a Weimaraner and they have known each other since she was a little pup. Since she isn't allowed to run around so much anymore because of her hip, we have to be careful that they don't get too excited. He's older now, too, of course, but when they are together, they tend to forget their age :)

Just popped In to see how you ladies are feeling about the latest developments and I have to say I totally agree with your points.A. Although it may be realistic, I was angry at the author for dropping even more sh** on Hernan. I also wanted to shout: too much!
B. I was not happy of these vey early declarations of love.
C. I start thinking that some of the bad guys, either Lonnie or the gang, will try and come after Hernan (for whatever reason). Hope I am wrong.
D. I found Hernans story too long drawn out. It was well researched and totally awful, but I wonder if a shorter version would have sufficed for the overall plot.
E. I think I am starting to figure out why Robert Winter‘s writing style is not for me. I could never pinpoint it before, but I have an idea and will see if it substantiates...

I can see that this book raises a lot of comments. The other day, I was reading about a BR done by Vir and Jan (among others) which leads also to a lot of debate as there were very different reactions and as I said to Jan, I could imagine being sitted in a café and spending hours about debating : that would be great.
I'm not talking about the writing style because I love Robert Winter's writing style : to each its own preferences (I know I stay away from Claire Davis's work as all the praises I read are exactly why it doesn't work for me, LOL).
Regarding Hernan's story, I understand your strong reactions about it being too much. I had the same reaction when my best friend talked to me about illegal immigrants. She didn't go into too much details but it's a reality that is tough to swallow and unfortunately, you realized that it's not an addition of shit, just one big pile of shit and there could be more to be said about the potential life of Hernan, but from the tiny bit I gathered from my friend's experience, it's not all it is.
So, yes, I understand your reactions about it feeling that it's too much or too long drawn out.
As for too early a declaration of love, I blame my family (and myself) for buying it. I still draw a line at "hello, nice to meet you, I love you" (my famous "BAM" factor), but that's my line of course.
Well, I'm very impatient to get back to this book and will be there at 4PM (10AM Canada) :-)
