I just finished Anxious People by Fredrick Backman (top read of 2020) and The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley (a damn good read). I'm starting The Midnight Library by Matt Haig.As to books mentioned:
Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows - window into another culture and very good read
The Couple next Door - a page turning thriller
An American Marriage - emotional read worth the hype

Hi Meghan, It is an amazing read so far and thank you for your words of encouragement. Looking forward to complete this even more. Have a great day.
I just finished A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, now currently ready A Woman of Substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford
Hi! I’m currently reading The Handmaid’s Tales. It’s a classic, you’ve probably already read it. It’s really good. Also, feel free to add me as a friend! I love discovering new books and seeing what people are reading!
xoxo, Sam
Maggie wrote: "I'm about to finish "A Woman of No Importance", historical non-fiction about WWII spy Virginia Hall. Embedded all over Nazi occupied France by England and then the U.S., Hall was the #1 spy the SS ..."I've heard of the book and the woman! It sounds interesting.
I am reading Grace After Henry by Eithne Shortall. I actually found this at Dollar Tree for $1.00. I am enjoying reading the story during the busy Christmas days.
I just finished The Girl with the Louding Voice OMG do not miss this one! and just started Onansburg, Iowa. By no means comparing to Elizabeth Strout's Olive Kitteridge , because nothing comes close to that one, but the small town story is similar, with secrets and histories of the residents.
I just finished reading "A Good Neighborhood" by Theresa Anne Fowler and I'm about to start reading Braiding Sweetgrass, a book I received for Christmas. Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants
I am currently reading How to Speak Dolphin by Ginny Rorby. After I finish it I will be starting Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer. Hope you all have a great day and a great New Year’s!
Margot wrote: "i am reading Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and i truly recommend it!!!"I LOVED that book and her unique take on the immigrant experience and so much more. Superb writing too!
skketch wrote: "Diana wrote: "The Silent Patient is one of my faves for the past five years : along with Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, The Dutch House, Where the Crawdads Sing, News of the World, and Gentle..."Yes, and the 12-year old German actor, Helena Zengel, is supposed to be phenomenal. Watch her in "System Smasher" for a reveal of her extraordinary talent! She will be starring opposite Tom Hanks in "News of the World". Wish there would be a movie version of Americanah too!
Catherine wrote: "Diana & skketch — those books are all some of my absolute favorites too!"Do you have some others to recommend? As an author, I also review for the NY Journal of Books and am always looking for real winners based on recommendations from readers with similar tastes!
Just finished listening to The Librarian of Auschwitz and wow absolutely amazing. I am a fan of anything taking place during WWII. Last night I finished reading Sometimes I Lie and wow! I'm still reeling from the ending. Hoping to start The Light in Hidden Places tonight and hopefully will get The Chicken Sisters audiobook from the library soon.
For those that can handle a little darkness right now, I just finished Between Two Kingdoms.
