Just realised that we are missing the Queen of Angels miniseries by Greg Bear. Will update it when I have a few spare minutes.

I found another series we haven't talked about, the Riverside series by Ellen Kushner. The Privilege of the Sword is on our list, but is the second book in the series.

Does anyone know if this can be read by itself or does the first book, Swordspoint, need to be read to understand the second?

Re: Heads by Greg Bear is not out in Kindle and is only 121 pages long. The other two are Open Road/Portalist/Early Bird, so they come up for sale sometimes, so I have them both. I looked at the descriptions on Amazon, and the characters don't seem to be the same.

re Kushner, I have not read either of these.

I've read Moving Mars assuming it is a stand alone. I later tried to get into Queen of Angels but it didn't worked for me. So they are quite separate

When researching about potential series I've looked into this one, but judging from the comments here and on other sites it can be read as a standalone. It deals with events that happen a decade or two after the first book.
Then again they say that the first book was even better than this one so maybe it's worth checking out.

I've updated the list, crossing out the books we read last year.
Vorkosigan saga list is updated, crossed out the titles we are working on right now.

Art, do you mean you have moved them from "to read" to "read" ? (I'm not sure what crossing them out means.)

Thanks, Art! I noticed that Machineries of Empire is on the list twice (it's mistakenly also on the 1000-700 pg list).

We also have read the Imperial Radch series.

Thanks Antti, I've updated it.

We're doing good progress with the series too, good stuff.

I am also revising the I, Robot series:

Robot by Isaac Asimov Total pages: 2,945

I, Robot - 224pg
The Rest of the Robots - 224pg
Robot Dreams - 352pg
Robot Visions - 496pg
The Positronic Man - 290pg
The Caves of Steel - 206pg HNBN
The Naked Sun - 206pg
The Robots of Dawn - 435pg HNBN
Robots and Empire - 512pg

Having read everything besides the last title in the series I may say that the revision is pretty much needed.

In order to enjoy the award-winning titles, many of these are not necessary, so here's my new suggested list:

Robot by Isaac Asimov Total pages: 1,589

I, Robot - 224pg
The Caves of Steel - 206pg HNBN
The Naked Sun - 206pg
The Robots of Dawn - 435pg HNBN
Robots and Empire - 512pg

I haven't read the final title in the list, but once I have, I will post something here

Change total pages in the 2nd group. I'm actually fine with reading larger version

Yeah, if you enjoy the universe you can appreciate it. However none of that is required reading to enjoy the award-winning titles.

Just looked over the titles in our series list and I'm so proud of our group for getting through so many series in such a short time, well done everyone.

There are still some epic series to read though, so there's that to look forward to.
