Review:
I felt luke warm about the first Kate Daniels book. I really enjoyed the Innkeeper series so I decided to give the second book a try. Glad I did. I am starting to really enjoy the Atlanta scene Kate lives in. Kate is one bad ass woman. She is tough but can wear panties with bows. Curran , I am not so sure about. I will have to read the next one to see what develops.

Review: My blog: https://wordpress.com/post/thatreadhe...

This was such a cute lighthearted read! I am so happy that I read this book :) It's been in the back of my head as one of those must-read middlegrade books, and I finally got around to it, and do not regret it. A nice impulse read that lifted my heart up.
The character relationships had really nice dynamics, and I adored the relationship with Stella and Ruby, even though initially it had a little uncertainty to it.
I love Ivan's sense of loyalty and protectiveness to Stella and Ruby. Particularly how he got his chest-beating thingy to work out to convey his urgency.
Bob's the typical light-hearted character in the story, always there to make me laugh (along with Ruby) when things were looking really down.

This book had my emotions doing all sorts of crazy things! I was laughing courtesy of Ruby and Bob one minute, and then Ivan's nostalgia would have me very contemplative, and Stella's stories and experiences would have me almost crying the next. This was such a rollercoaster!
I'm so happy for the level of trust these characters had in one another, as without trust nothing ever really goes anywhere. Such an amazing message.

Copy/paste doesn't always work. I copy from the address bar & never have a problem.

If your 3 dots at the end of your link are black its a broken link, they have to be green to work.

Review: Well shivery isn't dead when it comes to Jeremy Danvers. Love how smooth he is even though he's closed off, I still have a soft spot for him. I know, I know the book isn't about him but Jamie who has a sweet spot for Jeremy. ☺️ Jamie has come across something that's caused an uproar but she's got to find a way of finding out what but with the help of the alpha.
I really enjoy the mention of Long Island and The Amityville House which is near and people enjoy visiting on Halloween. As much as I enjoy the necromancers. I want some more of the werewolves

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments A Blood Seduction (Vamp City, #1) by Pamela Palmer

Book: A Blood Seduction by Pamela Palmer
Pages: 368
Shelf: Hunter
Read: 4.28.18
Rating: ★★
Review:

I listened to the audiobook. This book was very disappointing. The beginning was pretty good, but that only lasted about the first few chapters. Once the characters ended up in Vamp City things started to go downhill. I think the premise is really interesting. Vamp City exists in DC, but it is surrounded by magic which allows it to be hidden from humans, but trapped also. The only way to release everyone is for a sorceress/sorcerer of the same bloodline as the creator of Vamp City to break the magic. The were a lot of problems with this book. The first and foremost being the hero/heroine relationship. I hated Arturo. As a Romance hero, he was the worst. He is cruel, abusive, selfish, and a liar. As for Quinn, I didn't find her to be unique in any way, there really wasn't anything I could relate to her on. In some moments she can be very strong, and yet, even though Arturo betrays her over and over again, she continues to trust him and seek his help. I have no interest what-so-ever in continuing this series. I'm glad I got it off my shelf though.

Review:

I'm a big fan of Kelley Armstrong, and loved her Darkest Powers series, and I'm making my way through The Women of the Otherworld series. I believe this is supposed to be some sort of spin off of the Darkest Powers, but I'm not for sure. It takes place in a very small town that is basically made up of the workers and family members that work for the St. Clouds. They do medical testing in their labs and are particularly interested in the health and well-being of all the kids in the town. Maya is a very interesting character. I really liked Rafe and Daniel too. There weren't many questions answered by the end of the book, a lot of things left hanging and open-ended. I'm excited to see where things go and to see how much the other series really play into this one.

Review: Pleased I finally got around to this book, as it's been catching my eye for a while not. I mean, that cover <3 The colours and mysteriousness. The synopsis really just gripped me in, I'm a sucker for paranormal stories, and this one involved necromancy :D Sign me up! The world I found a little confusing for audio, at least for me, what with the different ranks and terms and little details, but I understood the overall story.
The two different time periods were really intriguing, knowing how she came to that end period. I'll probably read the second one at some point.

Review:

I really liked this one. It was much more suspenseful and exciting than the first book. I appreciate how Kelley Armstrong is developing this story, and I am very curious how it will all end. I think the characters were really pushed to their limits in this one, and I see them only becoming stronger. I don't know how all the questions will be answered in the last one, but I'm excited to see how it's done. Something that kind of bugged me about this book, and the previous book, is the lack of communication between characters. A lot of things could have been avoided if the characters just spoke to each other. But then again, the plot really developed from their lack of communication. Overall, I really liked it, but I liked her other YA series better.

Review:

I have owned this book for a very very long time, and it was just sitting on my shelf. One of my goals for this year is to finally read some of the books that have just been here for too long. I listened to the audiobook for this one. I am so disappointed in this series. I think I had a different impression on what the story was about, and usually that's ok as long as the story is good. This one is not. I have a lot of issues with anxiety, and sometimes it becomes health focused. The main character suffers from health anxiety to an extreme, however I don't like the way that the author decided to make this into Justine's power. She can push her fear and anxiety into someone else, essentially making them insane with worry about their health, particularly if they are already anxious. It just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I could have gotten past it, but I did not like any of the other characters. I didn't like the story line. A lot happened, but I still don't get the point of any of it. Why were the characters doing any of this? Or what purpose do the events serve besides moving the story along? I have the second book, but I will just be passing it along with the first book. I don't plan on reading the rest of this series.

My husband has been wanting me to read this book. To say the least he is a Bob Lee fan! He has read theses books at least 3 times. During my reading of the book he kept asking me where I was and accidentally revealed things to me. grrr.... I did not enjoy the first 1/3 of this book. It was way to much about guns and ammo. After that it got interesting. I really like Nike as a character. The ending was very good. To say the least Bob is one messed up dude.

Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling #2) by Nalini Singh
Book: Visions of Heat
Author: Nalini Singh
Read: 5/4/18
Rated: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Review : I wasn't sure how someone will soften the heart of a shifter who's been more jaguar than human since he was 10 years old, in the streets alone but I guess what they say is true "there's someone for everyone". When Faith comes in search for Sasha's help about the dark dreams she is having and comes across Vaughn. Vaughn temps Faith with feelings and touches that the temptation draws these two together but it also opens up other things going on in the psy.

Review: Hoooooolyyyyyyy this book wasn't quite the ride I was after, but the action was completely on point! Right from the get-go! I have to say I think the first quarter was my favourite, with all of the manipulation and blackmail and taunting going on at Spring Court XD That tickled my fancy. And also that reunion (view spoiler) That was gorgeous. I cannot believe that it was just this book where (view spoiler) I really thought that there would be more romance going on with those two, considering the merchandise out surrounding them. I feel like the bloody merchandise misled me :p I think I'm one of the minority who feels like (view spoiler)
Let me just go off on a rant here :) So everyone only has one mate right? Why is it that all of these characters that know each other just become mates? It's something that's always bugged me. Why do they all just conveniently have mating bonds with each other? People are allowed to stay single, or like someone else who's in a relationship. It's normal. They don't all need to be happily paired off with who the audience could see coming. It's just so unrealistic.
Also the lack of death in this book! I mean, they keep on saying how the war with Hybern will be the most intense war ever, and yet like basically no one died? It just makes me so angry!
Another thing that makes me angry is Feyre's endless reserves of magic. She constantly talks about how she's got no magic left, no energy left, yet she still continues to delve deeper into that magic to do whatever needs doing. So bloody frustrating!
Right, rant about all of those things over now :p I knew going into this that it would be a long one!
I love that revelation about Mor, it really clarified things! That ending did satisfy me, but I really wanted a big death, I wanted to bawl my eyes out, and it didn't happen. Pretty disappointed with that aspect, but the plot twists, the shocks at the end, that was amazing.
