So far in March I’ve finished: The mark of the king
Waiting for summer’s return
The lacemaker
The lost heiress
(in nonfiction I just started: “Carthage Must Be Destroyed”.)
All really good stories and well-told. But also pretty heart-wrenching ones.
After years of reading virtually nothing but nonfiction, just about every title/author I choose winds up a complete surprise, and I hadn’t meant to pick so many heartfelt ones in a row.
Due to some serious “life” situations at the moment, I feel in great need of a lighthearted mad-cap adventure. Karen Witemeyer? Yes?
I should say — I found all four of them wonderful books and incredibly moving. Just need a short break while I run to the store for more Kleenex!

Karen Witemeyer?..."If I felt like that, I'd read a Jen Turano book or I'd watch an old (1930's-40's) screwball comedy or some episodes of I Love Lucy. JT's stories are certainly madcap, but I wouldn't use that term for KW's, even though I love her books.
When I think of "madcap," I think of something like Mary Roberts Rinehart's When a Man Marries. That one was a hilarious romp with a bit of mystery....plus it's free in ebook or audiobook.Witemeyer is indeed lighter and enjoyable, but there are some emotional moments as well. Regina Jennings is another who can throw out some fun situations...try this series: A Most Inconvenient Marriage. If you're looking for contemporary, try Jan Thompson. Fools Rush In

I'm rereading Improving Your Serve and hope that one month we will have a read here that is not romance again nor about dreams :). But for all who like those books, enjoy!

Here's what I'm working on right now:
On top of my TBR pile:
My book ADD is in full swing this month and I've been starting (and not necessarily finishing) new books like crazy.
Just wondering if anyone has read any jamie langston turner? Thoughts? (Hope this is the right thread to ask this question).
Windi, I think I've picked up a few on Kindle, but haven't actually read anything by that author.Yep...I checked, and I have two of hers on my Kindle...the first two in her series.
It looks like she published with a general market publisher in 2014. I haven't heard much about her books, but now I'm kind of curious! According to her website two of her books won the Christy Award.
