You are quite welcome! Lol - I know exactly what you mean about not having time to get everything read! That happens to me all the time, but the books go on my TBR for future fun. (That's one reason my TBR is so huge!)

I had a little bit of a hard time getting through that one as well. Although, I was really glad I read it, because it was totally worth it to get to the next installment (which is awesome) :)

Oh, you are not making it easy for me. I was seriously thinking about giving it up. In fact, giving up the whole series that is not getting better lately in my opinion. But if you say that the next book is that good, I will probably force myself to read The King.

I have read about 25% of The King, do you think that I have to read the whole book or is it okay for me to skip it and just read the last few chapters? I mean to catch up with the plot in the next book.

You could probably skip it, although I might flip through and read all the Shadows/Xcor parts and the ending chapters. The next book in the series is the Shadows' book. I remember really loving it as well as one of the next ones, the Chosen (two books after The Shadows; it's Xcor's book). In general, these were my feelings about the remaining books:

1) The King - wished I could skip in the beginning, but ended up enjoying anyways
2) The Shadows - Awesome (this was one of my favorites in the series)
3) The Beast - wished I could skip, but enjoyed somewhat
4) The Chosen - Awesome

message 160: by fleurette (new)

fleurette | 287 comments Rachel C. wrote: "You could probably skip it, although..."

Thanks, that's really helpful! I will skip The King, reading only the parts about the Shadows and Xcor and the final chapters. And I will add The Shadows to my tbr list. I liked Wrath and Beth in the first book of the series but I found out that I really don't care about The King.

Totally!!! My TBR list exploded since I've joined GoodReads and challenges like this one!
I did manage to finish one finally over the weekend!
Nuts (Hudson Valley, #1) by Alice Clayton Cute read after the initial slow start! This was a PIFM for January from Rebecca, but I'm just now getting to it! I pulled my Kindle offline over the weekend so I could finish it before it got removed! :D
And staying offline so I can get to this one too!
Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake (Love By Numbers, #1) by Sarah MacLean

Sonja, so glad you are enjoying the reads. I know what you mean about the TBR list! My family and friends can't believe how many I have stacked up - but all totally organized - in the book areas of my house (a library and then a sort-of attic space)!

I just finished my second pick - What Angels Fear What Angels Fear (Sebastian St. Cyr, #1) by C.S. Harris - and it was FABULOUS! I have already pulled out the second one in the series, because this one was so good, I could literally not stop reading and read the 400+ pages in less than 12 hours. Of course, my house didn't get cleaned, and projects did not get done, but it was well worth it! - lol

Courtney | 328 comments Haven't been able to get much done this month. I've really only had one day to myself all of March with work and family. I'm finishing up the Raven Prince, though, which is lovely.

The Raven Prince (Princes Trilogy, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt

I've also gotten in a little bit of:

America's First Daughter which is so far a heartbreaking and interesting take on the American Revolution from the perspective of Jefferson's daughter. Beautifully written.
America's First Daughter by Stephanie Dray

A Kiss at Midnight, which seems to be a more snarky take on a cinderella type story.
A Kiss at Midnight (Fairy Tales, #1) by Eloisa James

The Deal, which I'm not following so far, but it seems OK, despite me having to hide the cover each time it pops up on my kindle.
The Deal (Off-Campus, #1) by Elle Kennedy

Bet Me, which I love so far. All the characters are hilarious and though the premise seems a tad cliche, I'm interested to see where it goes.
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie

Well the last week of March was a little nuts at work and I took Thursday and Friday off work so I didn't get much reading time over the Easter weekend. I did manage to finish Every Dog Has His Day and it was okay, but not my favorite.

I did try to start Dear Dwayne, With Love, but again.... no reading time (or energy!) Sooo will try to finish it this month.
3 total for me for March - Saaaaaaadddd!!!

MountainKat | 31599 comments Hi KathyD! I finished 6 of my picks for March, best I've done in several months!

Dear Bridget, I Want You by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland 3.3.18 - Really good, it started funny and ended super sweet!

Bound to Submit by Laura Kaye 3.12.18 - I liked this one too. I think it might have been better, had more depth, if it were longer, but with the subject I was ok with it being short.

You Only Love Twice by Lexi Blake 3.14.18 - So good! Great to learn more from these characters, tough story but very good one.

Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas 3.22.18 - Loved this and didn't want it to end!!

The Catch by K. Bromberg 3.26.18 - Loved this one too! Totally made up for the cliffhanger in the first book, especially the super sweet epilogue!

Delusion in Death by J.D. Robb 3.29.18 - Another great In Death book! I definitely wasn't expecting how this one ended!
