LisaSo these are my choices for the month:
√
I finished
to me today, and it was a little too angst-y without strong writing to back it up in my opinion. It wasn't bad but I wasn't gaga over it either. I gave it *3STARS* which for me is OK (middle rating). On to the next book, which will be picked based on availability.

(TBR)..."Thank you for the picks. I have already read the girl who chased the moon. But the rest look good.
Karen ♐I finished my first pick Once Upon a Winter's Eve Only a two star read for me. It's a novella (which fit with my yahtzee challenge this month) but I didn't like the male MC and without time to develop it…it just annoyed me. I've like other of her short ones so all is not lost.
I have others coming in from the library so will keep you updated. Thanks for the suggestion.
I am going to go with Ashley's picks since some of them work for other challenges so here is my list. Not sure how many I will get to.
Hi Tia,I finished Trust yesterday. I liked it, thanks for the rec. I may try to fit in one or two others from your list if I can this month :)
Hi Beppy,I finished my first pick for the month and it was very good:
. I have started two more and will let you know when I finish them. Thanks again for such great picks!
Macwolf01 [Elise] - I finished Whiskey Beach yesterday - 5 stars, of course. I forget, I always forget, what a master La Nora is until I read her again. She just never disappoints me.... I really enjoyed the story, the characters, everything. Thanks so much for the pick!! Not sure which is next, probably Shades of Passion since it's on other challenge lists this month.
Thanks for all the picks Pam :)I just finished my first pick
and aaaah I loved it so much!I loved Mac and Jericho so much and I can't wait to see how their romance unfolds, the small glimpses we got in this book alone were amazing!
The world of the fae in this book is so complicated but I really want to find out more and get to the end of this mystery. Thanks for recommending this amazing book!
Dee wrote: "i wish more books were about fae"The only other fae books I've read are the Iron Fey series which I loved but other than that fae always seems to take a back seat in popular paranormal series!
i've seen a few random ones - charlotte featherstone started writing a series, but only the first book came out and she has kinda disappeared since then
I really like Seanan McGuire's October Daye series, the first book is
. Toby is a changeling (half fae, half human).

This is one of my all-time favorite series, even though some of the later books are incredibly painful to read. And I might add, something I probably never would have picked up if it wasn't for the PIFM group!

Holly Black's Faerie Tales series is another.
Pam wrote: "This is one of my all-time favorite series, even though some of the later books are incredibly painful to read ..."Oh no when you say painful is that a good kind or a bad kind? haha
I've had Holly Black's series on my TBR for a very long time so I hope to read it in the next few weeks too! :D

I finished
and it was a very cute friends to lover story. I'm a sucker for those. I really felt for the hero because I could understand why he did what he did, but I'm glad that he had to work for his HEA a little bit. I will definitely continue on with this series. I'm interested in seeing what happens next!

Glad you liked them Aarati
Brett - sorry you didn't like Forged in Fire better... I hope Night Blooming Jasmine gives you a happier read :-)
Finished The Secret from Macwolf01 [Elise]. I give it 3.5 stars - it was an easy read and I liked the MCs. Probably would have given it 4 stars if it the conflict was a little more intense. Overall though I'm glad I read it - thanks for the pick!
MountainKat - I finished
recently. Thanks for the pick. I'll probably read at least one more from your list this month. :)

Hi Joy, I have finished one of my picks so far this month! I read Any Given Sunday, it was sweet and emotional and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for picking it! I plan to finish two more this month even though I started one of them the end of July. (It's a long one so I think I might just count it anyway!)
hi Daffodil - I finished Then Came You the other day - i liked it, but for some reason i don't remember the hero in this one being introduced in previous books, but it seems like he was...i gave it 3 stars
Glad you liked it. I've only read the first one in that series, so I can't help you with remembering Wyatt.
I've finished another one of my picks from Pam today which is When Lightning StrikesI really liked it and I just love Meg Cabot's easy writing. The main character was a bit irritating at times but she is quite young so I will definitely carry on the series because, well, it's Meg Cabot!!
MountainKat - I also finished
and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the recommendations. I still might get a third one in this month.

I finished
, and it was good right up until the end. I was so ticked off with that it still has me grumbling even a couple of days later. I'm interested in reading the other connected books though because maybe I would feel a little more closure with this one. Who knows.I hope to get a couple of more books this month. I'll report back later.
Karen ♐Finished Pick #2 A Lot like Love I enjoyed it--it read quickly. Not my favorite in the series but still a good read. Thanks.
Read these picks by Macwolf01 [Elise] this week: ✔Red: Shades of Passion by Virna DePaul - TBR - 08.10 ★★★★
✔Purple: Love, Me by Tiffany White - TBR - 08.12 ★★★
✔Orange: The Perpetual Quest for the Perfect Life by Michelle Pace - TBR - 08.12 ★★★★
Love, Me was written in the nineties but I don't think I would have known (or realized) that if the author didn't mention it. Since it was about a rock star and country singer, any over the top behavior, fashion, etc I would have attributed (and did) to them being celebs. There might have been some old skool-ish attitude by the hero but by and large it felt a lot like current contemps. I'll definitely be giving this author another try even though I only gave it 3 stars - there was no acknowledgement by the hero that his attitude about who the heroine really is would change. He more or less just accepted he loved even her though she 'wasn't his type of women.'
Tia wrote: "This is the list for Fran from the red group.Hi Tia,
I read a second pick,
. Very cute mistaken identity novella, I enjoyed it! Thanks for the rec :)
