Haunting Secrets by Marie Higgins Haunting Secrets by Marie Higgins in PDF form. ARC reader
Gothic, historical, fantasy, clean romance, paranormal story. Victoria needs to find out who murdered her father and to find those answers she needs to go to Maitland Manor. She will portray herself as an intended suitor to Jonathan Maitland to search the secrets that lies here. She finds out much more then she bargained for after getting there. There is a darkness that prowls over the manor and stories of ghosts that roam the east wing. This is not the usual genre I read, but this was an intriguing, suspenseful, mysterious and clean romantic book. It was a great read to find out who did it at that end. I would certainly read more of her books. Excellent reading. 5 stars

A sweet way to start the holiday readings. A ball that is held by her father every year is Audrey's 18 year old coming out masquerade ball. What a shock when the truth of the man she found kind, humble and handsome under that mask is. A real delightful story. 5 stars

To Tame a Scoundrel's Heart (A Waltz with a Rogue Novellas, #4) by Collette Cameron To Tame a Scoundrel's Heart by Collette Cameron on Kindle
1819 in England, Katrina Needham is almost betrothed to Major Domont but he is never around and has yet asked her father for her hand. Captain Dominic St. Monté, Nic, the nephew of the family's friend is back from the sea. He is has suddenly become the Duke of Pendergast and is in charge now of his sisters. He needs a wife to get guardianship and a woman to take over their needs. Kitty, already smitten but meant for another has taken over looking for a suitable wife for him and teaching him the ways of the ton. This is a very heartwarming and romantic novella. Both realizing what they want, but refusing to go after it. I enjoyed all the family member characters as well as the main ones. A wonderful holiday romance story. 5 stars

The Wallflower's Wicked Wager (A Waltz with a Rogue Novellas, #5) by Collette Cameron The Wallflower's Wicked Wager by Collette Cameron on Kindle
I enjoyed how two tattered souls came together. Captain Morgan Le Draco has a badly scarred face and lost an eye in battle. While recovering his estranged father gets him out of his commission, determined to force him into the family businesses. His sister is due her season even though she is in love with the Captain's best friend. Shona, Lady Atterberry has emotional scars and has come to the realization that she may become a spinster. The Captain finds himself rescuing her in the lake where she is drowning. Then the fun begins. Two people destined to being lonely the rest of their lives who find they have more in common than they know. No sort of scars can separate them. Except for a snobbish, gossipy, jealous woman of the ton, and a very unreasonable father. It's a wonderful story with twists and turn. 5 stars
