I am in London, 1865. It is a very cold winter and I am dying to know exactly in which month we are, so I can use the book for my ZZ Challenge. ;)

My eyes are in Des Moines Iowa in the 1950's and my ears are on 3 Sisters Island somewhere off the coast of Massachusetts.
My eyes are in New York, which is interesting because one of the main characters is missing an eye. My ears are in Oklahoma.
I am an agoraphobic woman in New York City. I view life through my windows, I just saw my neighbor stabbed. Where is Jimmy Stewart when you need him? And why don't I look like Grace Kelly?
Renee wrote: "I am an agoraphobic woman in New York City. I view life through my windows, I just saw my neighbor stabbed. Where is Jimmy Stewart when you need him? And why don't I look like Grace Kelly?"Do you want to meet up? We could go for tea.
Looking at a remote farm in the small coastal town of Cushing, Maine.Listening to the sounds of Los Angeles streets.
My ears are in 1910 Palenstein with Amelia Peabody. My eyes are in Boston.
The rest of my body is in the chair at my daughter's apartment enjoying her air conditioning. It is 37C at 6:10 pm.
Sound like a plan. There is a coffee shop round the corner. I may be able to make it there.Janice wrote: "Renee wrote: "I am an agoraphobic woman in New York City. Renee wrote: "Sound like a plan. There is a coffee shop round the corner. I may be able to make it there..."Hopefully we won't have to time travel to meet each other. :) I'm in 1880. Cleopatra's Needle has just arrived in New York City.

This makes me laugh.
... Are Boris and Theresa there too?

I was finding it quite slow, but am sticking with it because neither journey has started yet properly and I want to know more. I think it will be interesting to learn about both times in parallel. It occurred to me earlier today that this might be a book for young teens, which might explain the simpler style. Not sure though. What do you think?
I'm listening to the audiobook and am finding the narrator a bit distracting. I think it's because her main accent doesnt seem authentic. It seems to change, sometimes mid sentence, and I'm finding it hard to relax and tune into her voice.
I'm still hopeful that I'm going to like the book overall. The colours in the descriptions are an interesting touch.
How about you Lilisa? Any thoughts?

No politicians nor speeches - I said purgatory not hell LOL
While I continue to declutter my house (as soon as I locate the declutter library book, which is due tomorrow), I'm still hearing the noises of Los Angeles.I'm with Plum at the Calliope House and sense that I am about to get into trouble.
I've been traveling quite a bit today. My ears are all over the United States and into Canada, and my eyes are in Indonesia, China and Antarctica.
I must have a touch of amnesia as I can't remember what part of the US I am in but I'm not too well and I am plagued by a guy who is even less well. Strangely, I am loving ever minute of it :-D
Currently, I'm in Eureka, California, in a garden in early spring contemplating on how earthworms can regrow most of its body but we humans can't replace so much as a finger. I will be off to Botswana soon.
I've been nowhere yet, but I think I'll be traveling around different states in the US. I'm searching for my ex-husband who is a serial killer that escaped from jail and is tormenting me.
Later I plan to visit a snowy Minnesota, where I'm helping an old man who saved my life find out what happened to his children when they disappeared years ago.
Sandra wrote: "Kristie, all your scenarios look so dramatic!"Haha...they are!! I have a tough time deciding which one to get back to first.

Just saw your post Annerlee - I enjoyed the book very much and loved the narrator. I did notice her pronunciation of a few words - I put it down to the part of the world she's from even folks from the same country pronounce words differently. Interesting you mention it maybe targeted to a younger audience - I hadn't thought of it at the time but it makes sense. Listening to the book put me in Nour and Rawiya's shoes - I don't know if I would have experienced the book the same way if I had read it. Did it get better for you and have you finished it?
I'm all over the world in the B.C. era figuring out plants, germs and other ways to gather food, produce food, etc. I'm also in 1940 Guernsey in the Channel Islands trying to keep my family safe. To do that I had lie to my oldest little kid and get her on a boat to England. I'm not having a great time as the character or in real life - the writing is bleh.
I am battling crime in New York. I know where I am but I have no idea when I am. Time has ben stolen. If I were a better detective I would not be facing a dinosaur. Who knew Manhatten Island had so many dinosaurs.
I’m trying to get enough studying done that I can get back to that underwater crystal cave and trying out my new mermaid fins 🤞
Currently, I'm in 1941 London. Earlier, I was in 2011 London and I'm sure I'll be back there shortly.
Kristie, Renee and Roz, an inquiring mind wants to know...what are you reading? My tbr pile is looking a little low. (said no booklover ever, lol)

I'm reading Killman Creek and The Widow's Watcher.
Mine too, Kristie. And thanks it looks like I'm adding a couple books, although I guess I'll have to start with Stillhouse Lake before Killman Creek.
I’m always happy to help someone expand they’re tbr. Everyone should have more books to read in a lifetime. I’m reading A Darker Shade of Magic. Pretty good too.
Lori Z wrote: "Mine too, Kristie. And thanks it looks like I'm adding a couple books, although I guess I'll have to start with Stillhouse Lake before Killman Creek."Definitely start with Stillhouse Lake. Killman Creek is a continuation.
It's Saturday, isn't it? I came to this thread to post my literary location and realized I'm a day early. Sheesh!
Janice wrote: "It's Saturday, isn't it? I came to this thread to post my literary location and realized I'm a day early. Sheesh!"I got a notification for this thread and was worried for a moment that it was Sunday while all day long I had been thinking it was Saturday..
Hehehe, sorry Peggy. It's nice to pull others into my time warp, though. :) I'll blame it on my neighbor who has her garbage bin at the curb. We usually do that Sunday night, but she must be away for the weekend.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8liVW...Looks like a remake. Can't be the same without Tim Curry.

Haha Janice, your time warp link put a smile on my face but you have infected my household with an earworm 😈
