YOu can then select the book and the code will be inputted in to your comment. Then when you hit Post, the book title will be linked. Give us a shout if you have any problems.
EDIT: Just realised Peggy has already mentioned this.
I’m liking it, but loving it, Lilisa. I’m not too far in and planning to read a lot more today, so I’ll try to pop back here and let you know if that changes.
I finished The Colony on audiobook. First book for the Zodiac challenge in the bag!Next up is The Alice Network for the group read.

Did you like The colony Janice? I am trying to chose between that and Sealskin for the challenge.
Margo wrote: "Did you like The colony Janice? I am trying to chose between that and Sealskin for the challenge. ..."I may have liked it better if it hadn't been for the narrator droning on and putting me to sleep.
I finished reading March last night. Part of me is sure that I had read the book previously, but neither the title nor the covers rang any bells. There were three scenes that seemed familiar, but only after I had read through them. I cannot imagine where I would have come across them before, if it had not been in this story though. The knowledge does not prevent me from giving it my 5 star approval either, because whether I read it already or not, I absolutely enjoyed it again. I love Geraldine Brooks' writing and even her humor, when it allows itself to peak out.I started reading a first-in-series book called The Dead Cat Bounce for my Zodiac Challenge. It is set in the month of April but there is a huge snow storm going on, along with a murder. The body was found in the MC's storeroom, off of the back porch of her old house, in Eastport, Maine. I am learning a lot of Maine history along with the story. I think I may have found a new favorite author.

Once i'd read the first book, i had to read the rest in the trilogy so read them back to back. Glad you enjoyed it.
I finished my second zodiac challenge book, First Snow, Last Light just in time to discuss at tonight's book club meeting.Next up is my monthly challenge read, The Lost World.
I finished yesterday the monthly read Into the Water and rated it 3 stars. Like The Girl on the Train it is a page turner, but full of flaws, and lacking something I would describe as neatness.I've been listening to People of the Book for the ZZ Challenge (black cover), and I will start today Affinity for the monthly challenge.
Sandra wrote: "I finished yesterday the monthly read Into the Water and rated it 3 stars. but full of flaws, and lacking something I would describe as neatness..."I understand you perfectly, Sandra
I guess Paula Hawkins is not for me, Mariab. Is not that I hate what she writes, but I do not enjoy it enough to keep on trying.
Peggy wrote: "I started The Girl You Left Behind for the monthly challenge."I will be looking forward to hearing what you think, Peggy. This has been on my TBR pile for years, but I just never seem to get around to reading it.

I agree. I'm not a Hawks fan either. I got that book from the library so It didn't cost me anything. As you say Sandra, a page turner, but lacking in substance. I think I liked it better then her last. Grand for a quick read from the library ;-)
@sandra - Hope you enjoy People of the Book. I got it on audio and the narration let it down. Very grating voice. Good story though!
Margo wrote: "@sandra - Hope you enjoy People of the Book. I got it on audio and the narration let it down. Very grating voice. Good story though! "Yes, the narration is not totally working for me. The only book I've read by Geraldine Brooks was Caleb's Crossing, which I also did on audio. I found the writing so, so, so beautiful that I thought that I wanted to listen to this one too. Anyway, I will finish it on audio. I need an audio book for my busy moments in the day.
I finished The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper for the yearly challenge. I thought it was a cute story, but I didn't love it.I'm trying to read Batman: Nightwalker, but I'm not feeling it right now. I'm not sure if it's just the mood I'm in.
I'm not sure if I'll start Strange Highways for the monthly challenge or Stillhouse Lake for the yearly challenge next.
I'm about 25% into The Last Tudor. It's OK but I'm not gripped by it. I don't know if Gregory is loosing her touch - it all seems a bit repetitive. I'm not sure how many POV's the same story can be told from and still remain interesting. I'm glad it's a libary book and not one I invested in!
Just finished Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House

I finished The Dead Cat Bounce and will add the series to my series list. I also finished the first book of the Akasha series, Water and will add it too. I am still reading The Postman and have started Doomsday Book and The Hidden Light of Northern Fires. These are the last of my library books. Then, I can start reading the books I own. :o)

Thanks for taking one for the team and reading it, Dem!!
Lisa wrote: "I hope you enjoy Doomsday Book better than I did, Cherie. I am only just starting Book 2, chapter 10, which is less than 25% into the book. It is back 700 years in the past now. I am enjoying it so far but I think the story is just beginning to develop. I am reading it, along with two others and listening to another, so, maybe the pauses and switching between books keeps it from getting too slow for me, if that was your issue. I like these kinds of stories.

I'm going to pick that one up tomorrow, if I can find it in a bookstore. It's been sold out everywhere. Trump set it all in motion by making a big deal about it and trying to get it shut down. Actually, I don't really read political books, but if he's going to make such a fuss, then I'm going to get it.
While some of this book was hyped by the media, I think Trump's reaction had more to do with the rapidity with which it flew off the shelves.

I I gave Doomsday Book 3.5 stars. It was a bit slower moving than I would have liked but not a bad story. I think it might have been better in print - the reading was not wonderful. I think that 3 and 4 are suposed to be good so I intend to listen to book 2 this year.
Janice wrote: "While some of this book was hyped by the media, I think Trump's reaction had more to do with the rapidity with which it flew off the shelves."Yep, Trump was a great publicist for this book ;-p

Thanks for the review, Dem. I was curious about the book, but wasn't sure if I wanted to read it.
I'm reading The Girl in the Tower for the zodiac challenge because I am hooked on the series after reading The Bear and the Nightingale for the December group read.
I abandoned Kushiel's Dart earlier today. It started off okay, and I was quite enjoying it, but then I just seemed to hit a wall. It became a chore to pick up and I was no longer enjoying it so I decided to give up. I guess it was just not for me after all.

Are these your books, Romkirk?
Caraval
Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow
We try and provide the links to books so we can steal each others reads or investigate them further. I found two books called Homo Deus for example, so I am not sure which one you think is genius and I want to know!!
In the web browser, there is a link above the comment box that says "Add book/author" and you can search for your book or author there.
I'm glad you're enjoying your reads!

I have Caraval on my shelf but every timei got to start it something stops me! What do you by "a lot of problems - if that is possible to explain without spoilers? :-)
I've got Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow recommended by on of my teachers a couple of years ago and totally forgot about it. Thank you, Romkirk, I've put it on my TBR - pile. One of the books I'm currently reading is the Dutch translation of Behind Her Eyes. After almost 100 pages it's get interesting with a creepy twist. The book was recommended by Stephen King.
I started with
earlier this month. After the first book I was a bit annoyed by the love triangle, luckily that didn't come back in the other books of the series. I've now finished the first 4 books
. I liked them so much that I've read them all in a row. I'm going to do my best to fit all the books in the Zodiac challenge. So far I found out that I can use the first 5 books of this series. So I'm very happy with that :)Now I've decided it was time for something different and have read
. This book was okay. I didn't really like the characters and the pace of the story was very slow.I'm not 100% sure about what to read next. I think either:
for the Zodiac challenge Libra (the author is from New Zealand) or
for the Zodiac challenge Scorpio (science fiction)
Peggy wrote: "Curious to hear your thoughts on it Jayme! I would like to read it too at some point."It is really good (maybe even better - a lot of action). Questions I had from the first book are being answered in the second.

Sorry for being naïve. Those are my current reads:
thanks for the help. And Homo Deus is the second book from Yuval Noah Harari, he had written first
and it was so thought-provoking and so insightful; I had written a brief review about it if you're interested: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...I recently finished the first 100 pages of Homo Deus and they were very SHOCKING! the way he makes predictions in a feasible image by linking and explaining specific events in the past is so remarkably good. If you're interested in Science, history, economy or any non-fictional topics, this books is the one for you.
and the two books aren't relatable (Homo Dues and Sapiens), so you can read them separately and not in order.
I'm starting Wideacre. It was meant to be a "just because" read but I've just discovered I can use it for the Zodiac challenge which is a bonus.

There are no problems with it (I spelled the word "Pros" wrong by adding a B, sorry), what I meant is that the book is given a lot of acclaims and is highly recommended. People had written reviews about it; saying they weren't very encouraged to read it but then they were hooked from the very start.
Personally, I say, it's true. the first three chapters grab you by its wonder and beauty. And it's one of them books where you instantly fall in love with the protagonist.
I strongly advise you to give it a chance. Last night I hardly convinced myself to put it down, but I had to sleep then so I was forced to do it.
But If you're not in to Fantasy and Magic; maybe you won't find it tasteful.
