As she takes up their cause, embarking on an impulsive affair with a Scottish fisherman along the way, she gets drawn into a group of animal rights activists who are not what they seem as Fairy Tale and Folklore take on a modern twist in this Paranormal Romance. Her challenge to save the local seals begins and, as she risks everything to stop the shootings, she discovers not just the watery secret of her past but that the world holds more magic than she could ever believe.

This book started a bit slow. It's about Meriel who sees a seal in the Thames, this causes childhood memories to surface. She discovers seals are being shot by salmon farmers in Scotland. She makes it her mission to rescue the seals. After reading this book I'm not sure what to make of it. I didn't really like the characters and the romance seemed more like attraction instead of a real emotional connection. I liked that the book at a magical aspect.

A gem of a book. It's a mystery and a love story and the magical ending took me by surprise. I thought the environmental message was nicely played, not overdone, but made me think.
