Name That Tune - August's Toppler

Let's see...hmmm....
Another One Bites the Dust
Bicycle Race
Bohemian Rhapsody
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Don't Stop Me Now
Fat Bottomed Girls
Radio Ga Ga
We Will Rock You
We Are The Champions
?

Kirila, your singing in the shower story reminded me of a vacation I went on with my aunt, uncle & cousins. We were camped at campsite in Oklahoma. The men & women's showers were separated by a thin corrugated metal sheeting. I could hear my younger cousin singing "Fi-ga-ro, FigaroFigaro" in a over exaggerated opera voice. It became the thing to do.
One afternoon, I came charging into the living room, singing Figaro at the top of my lungs, looked out the window and saw someone on the sidewalk. I dropped instantly to the floor and stayed there long enough for that person to get to the end of the street.
Now I have to go check out what I'll be gophering for.

I´m afraid I wont be able to do this toppler. There is a big probability, I will have to work the entire weekend.
:-(((
But I will listen to your chants!
(Enemy Mine would be a good choice, singing the lines with Bohemian Rhapsody´s melody)

LOL! Don't you just want to sway back and forth to the music like the girls to the video!

Janice - ROFL picturing you :)
Mariab, I hope you get some reward for working extra.
I'm probably going to be at my Dad's, so I'm hoping I'll be able to finish a book.

This sounds like tons of fun. My husband is offering me bribes if I post a video but I think I will spare y'all. Hey could I get Lynn to sing my song? I ..."
::blush:: Thanks :)

I have a very mixed taste in music too. Here are my ideas so far:
- The Body in the Library / Mirror in the Bathroom by The Beat
- Invasion of the Body Snatchers / Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
- The War of the Worlds / Running up that Hill by Kate Bush (covered by Placebo)
- And Then There Were None / Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd
- Genesis / Gigantic by The Pixies
- The Giver / Firestarter by The Prodigy
- The Monster's Wife / Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics (covered by Marilyn Manson)
So now I need to see what I fancy reading on the day. Or use the fruit machine!

Neither am I! My song will be an insult to music :) So I'll probably do a horrible job, and laugh the whole time. The

I think, if I understand this correctly, you just need to find a book with a title that could be a song title, then write lyrics about that novel that can be sung to your favourite toon. In your case - Lonely Days, Lonely Nights.

YES! You interpret mumbo-jumbo well =) Sorry, my brain is becoming frazzled - I have to find another realtor - mine moved and left no new phone number!

That must be extremely frustrating that your realtor bailed like that!

Still musing for a book. I just love that song, Janice.

Polar opposite of Lonely Days, Lonely Nights!

Remember, the song doesn't have to be about the book, Or even use any of the same lyrics (I did in my examples to make it easier). Pretend like you've forgotten the lyrics, and make things up - I do that all the time :)
Unsaidwords, unsaid thoughts,
what'll I do to get you near me
For One More Day, just one more day,
I'd do anything to have you near me
Lonely days, lonely nights,
Without you I'll be Dead By Nightfall
Hey, that was kind of fun. Maybe the key is to have a catchy tune you can easily substitute words into :)

Unsaid words, about you,
how could you move and leave me stranded

Great ideas! I have all 3 books =) I get the idea now... A Big Thank you! Love my Bee Gees Lonely Days, Lonely Nights!

LOL! Hiccup... I know right? Uh oh, stole my lyrics...

Okay, now you have me listening to the Bee Gees. That's a great song. I think my favourite of theirs is

Very fond of Adele. Thanks for the musical interlude.

Ooor never really knew the actual lyrics and sing what you thought you heard.☻
Debra and I just tested out some old Cds with the thought in mind of whether they worth keeping or donating. Somehow we discovered that the song Little Green Bag was really meant to be Little Greenback. (view spoiler)
The public so consistently sang "bag" instead of "back" that future releases were titled Little Green Bag. However, if you actually listen to the lyrics the vocalist still says "greenback!☺

Good ones to listen to...also to look at!☺

Yeah but, I can't do Chris Isaak without Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing. This is a poor substitute for the "real" video, but that one is waaay too steamy. (view spoiler)

I do also. Used to go to the annual Jazz Festival downtown every summer.
Debra and I spent a recent Saturday listening to a jazz trio on the outdoor patio of a local winery. (She's not a cheap date!☺)
Just like our books, every music genre has some excellent contributions. It is difficult to pick a favorite.
Come on who wouldn't smile at this earworm?

I believe Noon EDT (Eastern Daylight-Savings Time) is 5 P.M. BST.

I have not come up with anything, song wise, nor book wise, but I will keep reading the posts and watching the videos. :)

It's the least I could do. (view spoiler)

Hey! Maybe we could do a Buddy Read and a duet!☻☻

What do you have in mind?

In 2014 I'll take a little trip
Along with Almeta
To the state of "this is it"
We'll take along our book lists
And we'll take our old guitars
We'll watch some You Tube videos
And
Make up a song song that's ours.

Wish my schedule allowed me to participate. But not this time.
I'll try to check in and cheer you all on : )

Thanks Almeta! I knew there was something about DST that wasn't right, but I couldn't figure out what. I'm sure eastern time zone would be really helpful! LOL

Good one! You'll have to read This Is It by Joseph Connolly. Never heard of it, but you would already have your song written :)

I even had my song picked. I was going with Summertime, I don't know how many versions of this song I have, I love it so much. I
