MJ | 1617 comments It's possible I've already asked about this book here before, but don't think I got around to it. If I did, sorry!

iBook (outside remote chance is was kindle, but not likely)
Likely free or cheap
Not read this year, but probably between 2014/16ish

It might be ménage, but it might not. There's definitely two guys (brothers or not) discussing her at some point, but I can't remember if it was just a friend sharing concern or partners concerned for their woman. One of them might be the town cop/sheriff. Pretty sure one of them is her landlord. One of the guys or both might have a kid/s. The h might be a teacher, but that's and outside guess.

The h is I think new to town, but there's a chance she has been there for a little while before they finally got together.
She is running from someone and sets up 'home security' which the guy/s trip at some point and freak her out... this clues them in that's somethings up. It think she scatters pebbles in the front walk and maybe a paper clip in the door jam. The H (or the other guy) goes to the rental to fix the water heater(?) and upsets her traps... she freaks and the other guy finds her panicked in the car.

MAYBE, the psycho ex is who she's running from and he might actually set the house on fire when he tracks her down??? Think I remember the guys trying to figure out if it could have been the work they had done on the house or not.

Thanks :)

I looked through the topics you started and didn't see this, so I don't believe it is a duplicate.

Fortunately, although you have 626 posts, only 24 of them are topics you started....

MJ | 1617 comments OMG... I've got 24 individual threads! That's scary considering I don't end up posting everything I actually mean to 😳

Thanks tho, will have to have a look and try to clean it up.

MJ--in order to keep track of which books you actually HAVE begun to look for, I recommend saving the web-address. I keep a database list with that, with a brief description of the book, so that I know when I think of another book I'm interested in finding if I've already listed it or not. Bonus is that you can just marked them as Solved on that list, so that if you forget that you'd already had it found but the title has, yet again (I know, I know, but my memory isn't what it used to be, at least this is what I tell my husband and daughter when they complain that I've asked them that question several times before) you have the link for the thread and can go and get the title easily.

MJ | 1617 comments That's a great idea. Think I had the web address saved on my iPad, but it's given up the ghost and I haven't got it set up on the iPhone cause I only use the app. Will see what I can do.

The database/list is def something I would normally be all over! Don't know why it's never crossed my mind, but thanks heaps. Will try and set it up ASAP, cause that will make life hella easier when it comes to this stuff. 😊

One thought is to save this information on your Goodreads blog. Here's your link:

https://www.goodreads.com/story/list/... ("MJ's Writing")
(The page ends with your Goodreads ID number.)

It's a bit awkward to use, but it will always be available in the future.

Juels | 3313 comments This isn't an exact match to your description but it is similar. Hero is town sheriff. His brother is her neighbor. The heroine is in hiding from her abusive ex-husband.

Taking Chase by Lauren Dane

Ann | 530 comments Angels Fall by Nora Roberts? I remember her being new to town and setting little traps because she was paranoid about her safety. There were discussions between the hero and the town sheriff about her.

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 56 comments I sounds a LOT like this free kindle book I just read:
The Heart of Falcon Ridge by DL Roan (sorry I am on phone, so no link)

Ann | 530 comments Link to Johanne's suggestion: The Heart of Falcon Ridge by D.L. Roan

message 11: by MJ (new)

MJ | 1617 comments Thank's guys. I've actually never read NR I don't think, so not that one. Although I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

I have read Falcon ridge, but I don't think it's the one tho. I'll try and find it and do a quick skim to see in the next few days jic.

Thanks heaps :)

Sue Elleker | 1053 comments I did wonder if it might be The Witness by Nora Roberts, but she owns the house; and is hiding from the Russian Mafia. Here's the link anyway.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

MJ | 1617 comments Thanks, but not the one... don’t think I’ve ever actually read a Nora one, but have looked at a few. Will check this one out.

Here's the Google Books preview of The Witness by Nora Roberts - Sue's suggestion:

https://books.google.com/books?id=C0b... There are different cover images.

MJ | 1617 comments No, not the one. Thx.

Nachelle | 160 comments Long shot, but just in case, "The Chemist" by Stephenie Meyer. The booby traps match and there are brothers but it's likely not because the rest doesn't match (as far as I remember)

MJ | 1617 comments Interesting, but I’ve only read her twilight series. Will have a look, thx.
