You’re certainly welcome to join along when you get it, Anna. Several of us are still reading it and are around the midway point I believe.

Welcome Anna! Like Terry said, most of us are about 30% to 40% along. Hope you can join us for this crazy ride of a book! 😂

Feli (felifirefly) | 516 comments Okay, I think I am really behind... there was so much work to do this week before holidays started... I am so sorry.
I started again last night and made it through the interlude (not my favourite chapter. some good scenes, but not the best in its entirety) and a bit of the following chapter. (getting better again). I will read through your comments later on and then I am in again :)

Happy holidays everyone!

message 157: by Feli (new)

Feli (felifirefly) | 516 comments After reading everything I feel I am not so much behind. I am half through "bad mother" (?) (fun fact: in germany we say, and that's what the chapter is called: Raven mother for a bad mom ;))

Steven wrote: Seriously! I don't think it gets a lot of air time but I know I felt very strong reactions when I read Lisey's Story. And yes the whole family is amazing. It actually makes me feel guilty that I haven't read Owen King yet. But good thing there is Sleeping Beauties!"

I loved Lisey's Story. It's one of my favourites by King :)
Have Sleeping beauties here, but wasn't able to start it yet. Hoping it's good.

I just happened to google the Wraith the other day, and that picture is a picture of the hood ornament. It's actually the image of a lady bending at the waist with her arms outstretched behind her with billowing sleeves. It's called 'The Spirit of Ecstacy', which is the name of the chapter we're currently reading, or at least where I'm still reading :). .

Ah cool. Thanks for the explanation!

I think you're really close to where we're generally at, Feli, so not behind at all. I think the holidays are slowing us all down. I'm about 30 pgs from the midpoint, which is pg 341 in my copy, still in the Bad Mother chapter.

Very cool on the translation difference on Bad Mother! Thanks for sharing.

Glad you're still enjoying it, and Happy Holidays to you as well!

Feli, you’re good! I’m only at 42% in the book and will likely not read any of it today, tomorrow or on Christmas. Just too much family socializing and I guess I have to do that instead of read. 😜😂
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you!

Along with everyone else doing our BR!

Merry Christmas Terry! I hope your boys have a great Christmas morning and Santa did them right this year!

No, I felt the same way on that Ch Feli. I thought "Search Engine" took a bit to get through and I think was more of a filler until the action starts.

I now know what NOS42A means. So cool!! And if anyone has read Doctor Sleep, you'll see references to the True Knot in the book. Don't read this spoiler if you haven't read Doctor Sleep. Sounds like Manx is similar (view spoiler)

Can you tell me what exactly is written in the English Version what it should mean? I've read somewhere that Joe Hill said NOS4A2 would mean 'Vampire' in German (which it doesn't), but I don't know if this is in the book or if he told it in some interview.
