My parents read to me initially, when I couldn't and when I started reading, I devoured all of them. In fact, even the last book I read when I was pregnant and then had my baby. I still have those and have given the first few books to my daughter to read and enjoy. It is a family heirloom of sorts that I hope will be handed from one generation to the other. :)

Famous Five series...I was given the 14th book in my 8th birthday, and I was addicted to it:) I remember reading those 21 books again and again those 2-3 years till I stumbled upon other genres...of course, with them came all Enid Blyton books, The Three Investigators, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys and Roald Dahl books.

My friends used to borrow Hardy Boys from the school library... I duuno why.., but I never took them...
And I remember going with the books which were suggested to me by my elder sister (we were in the same school) :D

My favorite books were the Laura Ingalls Wilder collections. I loved them dearly and would love to have the collection again to read.

I own a copy of Lirael, but not of the other two :(

I still have all those books with me and read them from time to time. :)

I have read and reread this atleast 6-8 times. And planning to read in the future too.
Other than that - the usual Enid Blyton, ACK, William series by Richmal Crompton.
CBT Childrens novel series
Barbie's wonderful holiday - a very good Indian book written by someone called Bilkiz Aladin (am not sure of the author) was another childhood favorite.

"Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls, "The Witches" by Roald Dahl, and the Mother West Wind series by Thornton W. Burgess.
I have "Where the Red Fern Grows," and have reread it many times, and I have a few of the Mother West Wind books too. I can't wait to read them to MY children, because I just loved them so much!
